Youths improving very slowly (Copied from Suggestion Forum)

Hi guys,
I know the way the players improve has been changed and i generally approve of this. I’ve noticed that my youth players doesn’t seem to improve at all, even though they play a lot of friendlies. I understand that with the new system, friendly matches doesn’t give that much experience any more, but this way there will be almost zero chance of developing new youth players!?
I find it a bit unrealistic that the young lads improves this slowly. I will use my own player “Davide Brollo” as an example. He’s played 22 friendlies, 3 serie A and a single cup match and has improved perhaps i skillpoint in total!? If this is the way it’s going to be, i’m worried that it will be extremely dificult to culture new youths.

We have received some complaints about this and we think we can improve the system. Youth players should improve a little bit faster, making it easier to tell whether or not he will become a good player. After being promoted to the regular squad things could go back to the speed we have now.

I see all sides to the story here.

In real life we generally can see an individuals skills and traits. Its not as common that mature age people step up another step, except for situations where they had talent but due injury, opportunity etc.
This game is vgood but it does fustrate with the lack of movement with youth players. Im not asking for the game platform to make it too easy to see who is a runaway star, however atleast a solid player can be seen BUT would like some more regular movement of primary and secondary stats to reward league/friendly and training efforts. You may allow more movement in specific stats asto elude to potential with the risk that a few more years training/playing he could be a possible star etc
Maybe add a section to coaches that allows you to individually try and train a player on a skill you require. This may effect the overall stats but helps you target weekness in your team and mould as a manager what you need. Maybe a long term vision enhancement.
But definetly for now it would be nice to see that most stat increases are achieved by early 20’s and loss of statistics in early to mid 30’s. This may first start with a dropoff in sec stats like speed/control etc as that is more realistic. Stts increasing later into your 20’s is not really great as the player has a shelf life.
I can bearly catch my kids now as my 38yr old legs have had a hammering from Australian Rules Footbal and Tennis but my brain still works, just!

my player is 16 yrs old 80 shooting 70 most of the rest
his name is kevan… he has scored 56 goals in 22 games in friendlies
his skill doesnt up or improve
its becoming to be bs trying to develop players when they should be developing when they get playing time and scoreing like my player is.

I haven’t been able to keep as much in touch lately due to… too much work, really, but even so, I’ve been on the game a few seasons, haven’t won any titles (came 2nd behind Benfica’s 2nd or 3rd season in this glorious run which will end this season), so I have a fairly good team, with a few good players I developed. My team went on a decline as I haven’t had much time to work with it, lately, but with a few minutes more per day I could bring it back to its good ol’ days.
I was always under the assumption that we were beta testers and that everyone here was aware of that, that as the game progressed to a stable level, a reset would be not only necessary, but a given. Do take into account that some teams’ progress was set when a few features, mainly regarding player development still weren’t ironed out, also that it happened when the competition wasn’t as established as it is today.
If there is no reset, the game will be restricted to those who already are powerhouses and there’ll be little incentive for new people to join… which I cannot agree with. We want the dimensions to be as dynamic as possible. One thing that might work, but that might be hard to implement: create a Champions dimension, put the 50 best teams in there and let ’em play it out. Then, just reset the other tickers and let everyone start from the same level, otherwise the game will just grow into a stalemate, people will get tired of the same winning all the time and RubySoccer will just phase out.
Unfortunately there is no way to tell whether or not you were on vacation mode :(
OK. BTW, it was turn 86 that I got the message telling me the youth contract was expiring. Can you check to make sure I was on vacation mode at that time? Maybe I just messed up.
drugs cost money :)…..seeing I don’t have money I’ll just keep playing this darn game way to much :)
I’ll double check just to make sure, but the rule is every youth player whose contract is expiring will be hired if you’re on vacation mode, unless you already have 30 players including those loaned in and loaned out.

I have 28 players, and one on loan. Maybe I didn’t set the vacation mode in that world? (fast ticker). I dunno. I thought I did. The player (Bruno Lessa, now on Monaco) is good. He doesn’t fit my team perfectly, but I’d have signed him up, just to see what happens with him. I don’t want to make a big fuss about it… I can’t complain… my team is pretty good already.
I just want to know what happened, so I can make better arrangements next time I’m on vacation!

I must admit its nice creating a team from nothing, let alone more rewarding than being handed it on a plate.
Yes with a weak team it will take time to challenge the super clubs but then thats part of the challenge.
You could allways start another gameworld and try out these suggestions throughout the thread.
You are never going to please all, thats definetly what ive learnt in management. I support which ever way you guys go as its nice to have a free game that brings back some SS memories.

Here the logic is best (in terms of team quality on season start) against worst, second best against second worse and so on. I’m not saying it’s better, it’s just the way things work right now.
Dave, did you have room for the youth on your team? If you already have 30 players (including loaned players) the youths will leave.

About not being able to remove the free kick players you’re right, we need an option there for it.
We could do that, but for sure it won’t be ready for next season :)
well, as far as i know, system only provides contracts to those ask for it, during the vacation mode.
and know what, to my disarray, it provided contract to one of those youths whom i didn’t want to. and i had to later pay around 34K to fire him…

I’m not sure if it’s a bug, but I’ve seen a strange behaviour in CL after playing groups phase. I’ve seen that it’s better to finish in second place than in the first place of a group, because the winners of every group are playing against them… I think it should be more logical to play the winner of a group against the second place of a different group… right? ;) What do you think?Javier.

I went on vacation for a few days… I come back, and one of my youths left the team?
If it doesn’t cover this, what does vacation mode actually do?
i have noticed similar cases, but that was during the freekicks. and since that was a free kick in my half, i thought game system was clever enough to recognize the crucial free kicks. So, i didn’t give much thought to that.
And also one more thing. if i don’t want any priority in taking free kicks ( after setting it once before), there seems no way to remove it.
either i need to change the player or simply remove that player from the match to ensure he is not the primary shooter. Even if he is removed from the match and plays no longer any part in it, his name still remains on the kick taker. ( penalty/freekick/corner kick).

I can see Ruby is just becoming more and more like soccersim/managersim :) which is not bad at all :)
too much money in the game and some people start asking for a reset. always the same :)
i can bet 90% of top managers will be the same after 10 seasons (or less) after a reseting – if they all have patience to stay on the game and rebuild all over again, of course.
the problem, just like ss, is that some managers start from zero and can get to the top, some others don’t. this is valid now and after any reseting you would do.
At. Madrid won lots of champions titles in spain (FT) and the last thing i would do would be to ask a reseting to beat them.
if you want to reduce money, put a limit on transfer market, sponsors and merchandising. like at ss, that is the only solution i see. I also don’t understand why all players agree to renew contract.
also, if you changed the youth system, why not to create a system where worst teams get better youth players? this is a good way to create balanced leagues, althouth i must say spanish in FT is being quite interesting for the last 5 or 6 seasons, with 4 to 6 teams to fight for the first places.

I have defined in an squad that the penalty shooter should be Valentin Soto, but I have detected than in my last match I suffered a penalty but the player who took the shot was another (fo course Valentin was playing the match).

I would like to see something added here. When you have to qualify for CL and you lose you are done with international games. I think you should make it realistic and let the team procede in UEFA. Otherwise… I might change my mind into getting that CL spot, when I rather would have UEFA groups. It gets me more experiance for my youths and more money….
I would like to see this added next season. I think it kinda sucks to get knocked out of CL qualify and then be totally done.
Thanks Jakob! I agree with you when you say you should go directly to the currently active round, will fix that soon. About the topscorer table you’re right, this has been reported already and we’ll take care of that as well. The data is stored, we’re just not dislplaying it correctly ;)
