I’m sorry for bringing this up, but this way i don’t have to start a new topic.

Where is the “select language” box? I can’t seem to find it anywhere, must’ve missed it somehow. It’s just that it’s really annoying having everything in english, then getting few parts in portuguese. :(

Cheers.

I would like to know what you guys would like to see covered in our new player history screen. Notice that we only have been storing data regarding the transfers lately, so the available info is very limited for now.

cheers!

Our previous player history is now called player statistics. Player history now refers to information regarding transfers involving that player. For now we only cover transfers made from team to team and from free transfers to team. I will add code to cover the player birth later this week.

I think that Speed should decrease with aging, and Stamina should take a little longer to increase on older players… as they get older, managers would have to “spare” them a bit, as they would get tired quicker than young players.

Not so sure about the other skills; as Rafael said, it’s reasonable to expect that some skills are maintained (or even improved) until retirement… Keeping and Passing, for instance.

You’re absolutely right, Rafael. We are going to make older players decrease their skills and you have a good point about gaining some due to experience. Not sure how we’ll handle these things yet but we’ll try to make it in such a way that it is still possible for old players to increase some skills, specially if they haven’t reached their maximum potential yet…even though this is not likely to happen :-)

about aging consequences…

since young players can only improve or stay the same, I assume you guys intend to make older players decrease their skills after some time.

so, as a suggestion about that, I’d like to remember that old players, in real life, lose physical skills, but they can, sometimes, also gain some of it as a result of experience and as a way to adapt themselves to new physical conditions. Maldini, Gamarra, Romario are examples of it.

what we see in rubysoccer is that a player, after certain age, just keeps the same skills. The only difference is that an older player often gets injured. So, when you guys change the system about aging consequences, I hope you think about what I said.

Best!

Player transfers are now allowed between users that use or have used in the past the same computer or network to access RubySoccer. There is a value restriction though to prevent cheating trades of overpriced players. This is an experimental change due to the large number of fair users who cannot trade with friends and the small number of teams we currently have, if this prove to be a bad decision for the game we can always go back to the way things worked before.

What a syncronized team we have! Now you have 2 answers to help you :).

Alban,
The answer is possibly. The more games you manage to involve your player, the more experience he will gain. After a while, you will notice that some attributes will “go blue” on your player list. Those have evolved since the last tick. The amount evolved is not a fix number, and all players have their potential when born. Of course that it is easier to evolve in the beginning of the career and, in a near future, we will implement the consequences of aging.
As your question was not that specific, I’ve tried to give a high level answer. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
cheers!

Hard to tell, you have to make him play lots of matches and watch his skills grow. There are 3 basic ways to know a player has reached his maximum: he doesn’t improve anymore even after playing lots of matches [the exact number is secret ;-)] or he suddenly improves much more than usual or when he improves none of the important attributes raise (it means a keeper improving anything but keeping, passing or speed, or a non-goalkeeper improving only keeping).

Scouts and Coaches will help on player potential evaluation, they are on our priority list of features to be added.

Cheers!

Can we get more information on the players’ skills ?
In particular, I am interested how to know if a young player will grow into a star ? And when ? :)

This is not a bug, he has reached his maximum potential, that’s the only situation where a player can improve that much :-)

My player Cuccinato (Genoa – fastticker) has a increase of his tackle skill from 87 to 94 in 1 tick. I’m very happy with it :-) but I was wondering that this increase isn’t a bit much for 1 tick. Is this a bug? Does this mean he won’t increase anymore.
Cheers

You have a valid point, at this point certainly there are lots of coworkers playing the game, i myself have a few… and the way to get more people playing is word of mouth.

By purging the records i was talking about the IP records that prevent the transfers. If one day you’re at a friend’s house and you want to log in just to check something, you’d be forever banned from trading with him. :)

Well, I agree that you can’t find good players in the bottom of the transfer lists but I think you should look sometimes, you may find a good promise down there. :-)

Anyway, me and Danilo will discuss these changes, some people have lots of coworkers playing the game and with the low number of teams we have some interesting and fair transfers are certainly being blocked. Allowing low transfers between same IP can make things easier for cheaters, but I hope not to be the only one looking at the bottom of the transfer lists to avoid this kind of thing. And of course the users can always report when they think someone is cheating so we can keep an eye on him/her. Don’t worry, if things get worse we can always put the same IP rule back :-)

What do you mean by “purging these records once a month”? If you’re talking about free players staying too long in the transfer list we already purge them after 70 turns (or 72, not sure)

Cheers!

Now there’s something i don’t think should change, as it is (almost) perfect the way it is now.

Keeping an eye (only) on high value transactions will make it easier for, if someone really wants to cheat, sell a good player for a much lower amount than his estimated value. I, for once, never take the time to look at the bottom of the transfer lists, as its unlikely to find 85+ players there…

The only thing i think should be changed in this system, as i’ve said in some other thread, is a time limit, like purging these records once a month had passed, or something like that.

Cheers,
Ricardo

“Not Bad” is better than “You’re doing OK”. We have 10 levels of performance, we will have that info detailed in the game help (when we have one). As far as I can remember we have things like:

Outstanding
Excellent
Very Good
Good
Not Bad
OK
Could be Better
Needs improvement
Bad
Terrible

I’m pretty sure the words aren’t exactly this, but kind of :-)

What kind of “Your Performance” are there, and in which order?
I used to have a “You’re doing OK” and now i have a “Not bad”, was wondering if it was better or worse than the previous. :)
Cheers.

Yes, we will allow this kind of transactions, we’ll only keep an eye on high value transactions to make sure the player is worth the price being paid and nobody is trying to cheat :-)

Cheers!

thanks.

Ah! Thanks again for your quick reply Gabriel!
I didn’t know that free players were under that rule. Maybe me and Maritimo’s manager work on the same corporate network despite the fact I don’t know him, but no problem, there are plenty of players good for Estoril’s squad. My team is so weak… :D

Cheers!

I have the same problem. Lots of co-workers use the same network to access the game. Almost all players in the portuguese list give me the same message.

This means you and the person who fired this player use or have used in the past the same pc or network to access the game. This will change soon to block (or require approval) of high price transfers only.

Cheers!

On MediumTicker I’m trying to acquire Roberto Rodrigues on a free transfer and I get this message. I’m a little bit lost…what game rules?

Thanks!
