I’m already a good manager in this game, so it’s not like I need the “help”. Nor do I think it will make the game too easy. But I could be wrong.
I also think there needs to be a good reason to encourage people to contribute financially. I think this is a good way to do that.
I am personally growing ever more tired of the chronic “treasure hunt” aspect of this game (and managersim before). I now find it somewhat annoying… it’s like work. Not going through all the lists… that’s fun! But GETTING the lists. That’s annoying.
I have to login. Often times I get booted right there… and have to keep trying. Once I’m in… I have to choose my gameworld… then open the country list… then open every country… then go to the transfer list for each country… then sort for free transfers… and every click… I have to wait, and wait, and wait for the page to load… and sometimes they fail to load… and I have to try again… and again.
And because everyone else needs to do this too… it places more demand on the server. And if the game grows the way we want (more managers, more countries)… the server demand will only worsen… and page delivery will only slow. And more precious development time will be spent on streamlining the database and figuring ways to serve pages quicker… and less time will be spent developing gameplay.
So, I if have 20 minutes or so in the morning… and I spend more than half that just accessing the pages I need… and somedays I don’t even GET to access the pages before I need to leave, and I just give up…. that’s not “challenging”… that’s annoying, stupid, frustrating.
Forcing managers to waste time waiting for pages to load is frustrating. It seems a good way to drive intelligent thoughtful managers away from the game. And you lose an opportunity to make some money while you’re at it.
THINK about it…. “the ability to endure forced long page load times”. Is that what makes a good manager? Is that something that makes a manager more deserving of obtaining better or cheaper players? Is that what we want the game to be about?
Get ready for Club World Cup! Starting this season the winners of Champions League and Libertadores will play against each other to decide who is the best team in the world. There is currently no prize for the winner, but the ticket income on this Club World Cup match will be $2.000.000 for each team.
I don’t see this “limited amount of time” argument as a valid one. Unless Dave is really a workholic, and I am sometimes like that, he is an exception, not the rule.
A scout system would ease things down, and would use team’s money, not the manager’s.
I donate because this game is great and addicting, not to buy my arguments.
Unfortunately I think unsatisfied people won’t read these messages :-(
I’d be great if we could fill these countries! Danilo’s latest changes have reduced the tick time to a level where we have room for more countries.
Cheers!
Well, at least that’s a way to make older players lose some value, maybe when their attributes starts decreasing as they become old we can make the injuries less frequent :-)
Problem solved. He just wanted to play the national cup with him. What a good conversation can do.
This discussion is getting hot… NICE! Thi is the kind of spirit we need here. ARGUMENTS! One of the things which helps us most to improve this game.
Everybody has a good point, and balance is what we seek. We don’t want to make the game so easy that any idiot with 5 minutes would be able to be successful. But we also don’t want to unable people with limited amount of time to be competitive, for starters because we are part of the latter group and our motivation to build this game is that we had a lot of fun playing managersim.
Lets see where this discussion can lead us.
cheers!
We are losing some managers lately. I wonder why, if we are open to suggestions. Where are you, unsatisfied people? Speak up! Let us know what is not good enough to you!
It`s fun the way it is, we just have to put some friends to play and fill these countries ;-)
Yeah, Dave, you are not the only one who works, mate, then don’t throw this one on me. and yes, I think one player per page would be better than giving them all away at once.
And I’d be happier alone in this game than in a game where money gives ADVANTAGE to some players. And don`t say it is not an advantage, because you know it is.
Gabriel, think this one through, because it is a mistake.
Hy,
Just a suggestion, the players is really overinjuried I think. It is not like this in real life, I know that older player get hurts frequently but its too much. Thats only my opinion. If other managers don’t think like me please forget about it.
Regards
I think it’s something worth trying . I’ll work with Danilo to figure out the better way to do that.
Cheers!
Why not “test” it for a while. If it turns out to be a bad idea… you can always put an end to it.
Did you actually suggest we make the server response SLOWER??? Are you out of your mind? There 400+ manager-less teams right now… would you be happy if you were the ONLY manager here? Because that will happen if the server gets slow enough. Then you get your wish… you’ll be the ONLY manager bidding on players!!!
Why limit it to 10 players per page?… let’s make it ONE player per page. And yeah, let’s add more countries… there are already over 400 teams without managers.
I agree, paying customers should not get an UNFAIR advantage. Unfair, to me, means that someone has access to something others do not. Everyone HAS access to the available players.
Everyone does NOT have the precious quantity of TIME to search through those players. The current system is completely UNFAIR to people who must work (for one example).
Why don’t we limit the amount of time a manager can spend online with his team each tick??? That would make things much more fair.
Because right now, some kid with no job and all day to search for players has an UNFAIR advantage over me. And I DONATE, and he DOESN’T.
That is not reality. Not a sustainable reality. Ask the guy that ran managersim.
I don’t want access to information that non-paying players don’t have.
I don’t want to get better youths. I don’t want my players to develop better because I pay. (although, in real life, teams that pay DO get better youths, and DO have players that develop faster and better).
I don’t want any “unfair” advantage.
I want the playing field to be leveled.
I want to be able to get the same info that some dork with all day to search has.
I want the game to survive financially.
I do not want it to cost a LOT… I want it VERY inexpensive… but I want it to cost SOMETHING… so that the game will LIVE, and THRIVE.
Because it’s a good game, and getting better.
“Free” is a great way to get people into the game. But not a good way to keep the game going.
International competition matches have been rescheduled to happen 6 turns earlier. This will make them end on turn 137, giving room for a Club World Cup match on turn 143 between the Champions League winner and the Libertadores winner. This is not implemented yet but should be added soon.
Any friendly matches scheduled for the turns when the international matches will now take place have been cancelled.
I see a problem on removing all second divisions – we’d lose the thrill and motivation of avoiding relegation. The weaker teams would fight for nothing…
Not to mention the need of a reset, of course.
There will be new leagues added to rubysoccer musti, that’s for sure. The question is when is it going to happen, cause right now we have most teams controlled by cpu on both dimensions. What we could do to add new countries right away is remove all second divisions from the game, this would allow us to add like 4 european and 2 south american countries. Of course this would require a reset. If more people would like that to happen we can create a new poll topic to decide whether or not this should be done.
Cheers!
seems to be the way to go ;-)
Are you talking about rescission clauses? They’re not mandatory. Some contracts have them, some don’t.
Anyway, the situation I mentioned is real and was made public by both sides, so I guess it really happens.
yeah that just reminded me is there going to be new leagues added to rubysoccer, like the turkish league, scottish, netherlends, belgium, etc?
it doesn’t happen in real life.
a soccer player contract always has some kind of fee for the side who wants to break out.
if another club wants to hire a player against the owner club will, it just have to pay the fee and the contract is broken. nowadays in rubysoccer we have pay this fee to fire, but not to contract a player.
just to mention!
Best!
You’re right Leonardo, but I’ve just had an ideia…after implementing the Clubs World Championship I’ll use that to give a weigth to each continental competition and make an worldwide ranking instead of two continental rankings. That should be interesting :-)
Brazilian teams have an advantage then, because they only face Argentinian teams, and different from reality, in the game they are not that great.
I agree, it’s something I wouldn’t do: set a price and make it higher as soon as someone beats it.
In your place, I wouldn’t buy the player – it’s a matter of principle for me.
Anyway, I think it’s up to us, managers, to decide what to do on these situations…
Talking about a little conversation. He literally said it was 25M in his message cause I want to give only 20M first. But I just have to pay this 30M if I want the player I guess…
And what you said about Simao I can understand in rubysoccer (not in real life) that you see the light and realise that the player is still very usefull for the team. But raise the transferprice is a totally different point according to me.
I just want to mention this…
Cheers
No Polat, youth quality has to do with the team’s country performance on international cups and the team’s division. Generating better youths based on ranking could be unfair, as a team playing in an “easier” league with lots of CPU teams would usually have a better performance and get better youths even if this team is from a small country or a lower division.
I agree it’s not correct, thorpedo, but things like that happen in real life… Three years ago, the deal was closed between Benfica and Liverpool, Simão had agreed terms with the english side, and he was already inside the plane getting ready to lift off to England when Benfica’s president called him back and canceled the transfer :P Sellers change their mind very easily…
Here in Rubysoccer it happened to me once, but it was nothing that a little conversation between buyer and seller couldn’t overcome. :)
Just my two cents.
I want to buy Silveira Martins of Independiente (Fastticker) and my bid was exactly the transferprize of 25M. I was already negotiating with the player. And this morning I saw that the manager of Independiente had raised the transferprize to 30M.
I can accept this if there is another team that has offered 25M but not now cause I’m the only team that has offered 25M AND we were already negotiating.
I think there has to be something that the selling manager can’t change the transferprize once the buying team and the player are negotiating. So can you implete such kind of rule?
There has to be some fairplay in the game.
Cheers
Team and manager history are paginated. That will save some page loading time.
I love it i just cant wait for the turkish league.
