I’ll dig this one up instead of opening a new one, even though it should be in suggestions instead of general.

We are now able to choose a formation when accepting friendlies. Can you make it so we can choose it while proposing? :)

Cheers,
Ricardo

Not only that, Phil, check out your scheduled matches. You’re playing the Champions qualifier against Blackpool at turns 101 and 102, and against Benfica at turns 104 and 105… note that you also have league matches at turns 102 and 105.
Something went wrong, everyone’s seeded twice, check it by clicking a country on the country ranking page.

Cheers.

I’m glad that stuff like that happens, this is supposed to be football, not math… :)

In Individual Tactics, i’d like to be able to choose:

Tackling – easy, medium, hard.
Shooting – close, normal, far.
Passing – short, medium, long.
Marking – man on man, zonal.
Positioning – with and without ball.
Crossing – yes, no. If yes, from deep or entering the area.
Playmaker – yes, no.

And of course, selecting the kickers.

Cheers.

Taking Phillip amd Thorp’s idea, if the value was progressive (making it REALLY hard to maintain the “coaching performance” at 100%, we would have to spend more and more, making it a good way to take money out of the game, if having 100% at coaching would mean better youths, or faster developing in players. I believe everyone would be willing to pay, having those in exchange.

Lets say that you’d start noticing a deficit in coaches work when their “potential” was below 90%. That could be a few weeks after you started investing on your coaches less that X% of your monthly revenue. I think the value should change depending on various factors, including country, club’s financial situation, board expectations, etc.

Cheers.

I started playing Soccersim when Fulltest was already ruined by the 100k plus seater stadiums, managing Hartlepool for a couple of seasons.
Then Challenge One began and that was the universe i liked the most, took Igea Virtus from Serie F to 2nd place in Serie A… never got to win it, the almighty Spal was invincible. Only got to win a couple of Italian Cups. That 12 ticks a day thing was great when all i had to do was study… :)
Then, in Challenge Two, i kept taking teams to their countries 1st division and changing, never really got attached to one. What i really liked there was grabbing young players and turning them to top notch ones. Stayed there until a few months before the game died, it was still fun but not the same with the stagnant development and the constantly growing tick time.

Now, at Wolfsburg, im not sure when (or if) the time for a new challenge will come. Maybe when (or again, if) i manage to win a CL… :)

Cheers.

Yep, it definitely is still there… my performance is “nada mal” and my passing frequency is “frequentemente”. :)

Sorry about the late response. What i was getting in portuguese is the performance too. Sometimes i got the styles in portuguese, in the tactics screen (longo, frequente, etc), but that seems to be ok now. Not sure though, as i sometimes get a thing at home and other at work, dont know if it’s an IP thing or a browser thing (FF here and IE at work).
Cheers.

I’m sorry for bringing this up, but this way i don’t have to start a new topic.

Where is the “select language” box? I can’t seem to find it anywhere, must’ve missed it somehow. It’s just that it’s really annoying having everything in english, then getting few parts in portuguese. :(

Cheers.

You have a valid point, at this point certainly there are lots of coworkers playing the game, i myself have a few… and the way to get more people playing is word of mouth.

By purging the records i was talking about the IP records that prevent the transfers. If one day you’re at a friend’s house and you want to log in just to check something, you’d be forever banned from trading with him. :)

Now there’s something i don’t think should change, as it is (almost) perfect the way it is now.

Keeping an eye (only) on high value transactions will make it easier for, if someone really wants to cheat, sell a good player for a much lower amount than his estimated value. I, for once, never take the time to look at the bottom of the transfer lists, as its unlikely to find 85+ players there…

The only thing i think should be changed in this system, as i’ve said in some other thread, is a time limit, like purging these records once a month had passed, or something like that.

Cheers,
Ricardo

What kind of “Your Performance” are there, and in which order?
I used to have a “You’re doing OK” and now i have a “Not bad”, was wondering if it was better or worse than the previous. :)

Same here, 4 league matches ago: http://www.rubysoccer.com/game/match_report/94234

My best available player was a D, turning the 4-4-2 into a 5-3-2.

Is the “position for position” replacement in place already? I’ve lost the count of how many matches the cpu turned my 4-4-2 into a 5-3-2…

I think it would be better if the hotlist opened in a separate window.
Imagine you want to check how 10 different players are doing. The way it is now it would require a lot more clicking (either the hotlist icon or back/forward) than if you had other window with the list, where you could just click on the player and then watch him in the main one.

Cheers.

In the meantime, we can watch it by copy/pasting the ? x ? url and changing report to replay. ;)

Hi. My suggestion is a link to the match replay somewhere before we know the match result. Like in the main page, on the “recent and next matches”, if we had a link to the replay on the turn number, or next to “League”. I think it would make it a lot funnier to watch the replays without actually knowing if we won or not.
Cheers,
Ricardo

Cool, i’m looking forward for that as well.
Also on that note, could you put a different icon when there’s stuff happening at the negotiations tab? Something like in the mailbox, i mean. It’s easy to see it flashing when you know something is happening, you’re aware of it, like renewing contracts or buying players, but anyway we get a mail about that when the player rejects it.
When a lower bid than what you’re asking is allowed, i think it would be useful, otherwise we could only get a “Team X’s offer on Player Y was dropped due to not reaching an agreement” when it was too late.

Cheers, keep up the good work! :)

Was there any change to the injuries lately? I’ve spent seasons without seeing one, and then suddenly i saw 4 or 5. My team injured 3 players from Caen in our 2 CL matches, then in the next league one i got a defender injured by 24 turns, the highest i had seen before was 3 or 4 lol.
Not complaining, just curious. :)

I understand the concerns of Alexandre, so my suggestion for now is from -2 to -7, in all stats.

Something like this:

D playing M-1 = -2 points
D playing M0 = -3 points
D playing M+1 = -4 points
D playing A-1 = -5 points
D playing A0 = -6 points
D playing A+1 = -7 points

Same for A’s, depending on how far away they are from their original position.
M’s would lose at maximum 4 points, with this system.
I think it would be nice until we have double positioned players, just don’t know how hard it is to implement, specially considering it is a temporary thing.

After that, i’ll stay with the -5 to -10 to everyone.

Cheers.

If i remember correctly, the penalties for playing out of side are -1 and -2. For playing out of position i think it should be from -5 to -10, if not in all stats, at least in the main ones (tackle, pass and shoot).
In real life, a player can perform well if its out of side, a DL can play at average to good in the right. But we can’t expect a ML to play better than average at DC, p.ex.

Ricardo

On bankrupcy the manager should be fired, the board should release the high waged players and inject money on the club, something like 2M, the minimum to allow someone else to be able to manage the team.

Cheers.

Don’t know if this has been mentioned before… we should have the league/cup names in the player history screen. We only have “league 1”, “national cup”, would be easier to know when a player changed clubs (in case of different countries) than having to check when he signed the contract.

Cheers.

Is there a “board happiness” with our work that we don’t see yet?

I know it might be premature, since you guys say that board expectations can be kind of off with the team’s reality, but once that gets sorted out, i think the board should start firing people. Something like x ticks with the board’s happiness towards you on the lowest level = a kick in the butt. :)

Cheers.

I agree with that, 16 should be the minimum, make the bots sign the best available free players on the market or something like that. :)

I’ve added 100 seats to my stadium just to see if there would be any raise in the prices as the stadium gets bigger, but it doesn’t seem like it. I think it should, otherwise stadiums will just keep getting bigger and bigger until they get more people inside than some small towns do. If with 33k seaters we see wages of 200k, i can only imagine with 100k seaters… well, maybe with bankrupcy things could change a little, i don’t know.

Also, there isn’t any real advantage in building more than 100 seats. You pay the same per seat as you would if you’d built 1000, and you get them faster, therefore making ticket money faster.

Cheers.
