The economy model is doing fine :) now, with match replay we can see some serious stuff to improve…
I had noticed that playing 4-4-2 without middle position was like having a hole in the tactic! It is notorious! It’s not just a hole, it’s huge, like a highway to your own net!!!
I would be carefull with game engine changes because tactics will have success/unsuccess depending on it and players can get very disappointed with bug fix unsuccess… Perhaps improving game engine in the end of the season, from season to season is a good method, anyway, it’s just a suggestion.
About game engine, definitely, the number of positions should change, today we have L LC C RC R but this doesn’t work with 4 players!
It’s not apropriate, we should have more inner positions, a 4 player position would be like between L and LC, between LC and C, between C and RC and between RC and R.
What happens now is that if you play with 4 (by side) there will be a hole somewhere! I think this works like a big bug.
And this would be the first suggestion, I don’t remember laughing so much and so long, the technology is simply fantastic but the game remembers a singles vs married!!!

Oh Yes it does, over speculation generated a crash in 1929… Recently, you had the dot-com boom and after 2000 there was a crisis in telcos, $K or more of fiber optical investments were sold for 1$ and less… There was an economy bubble in ruby market, but the bubble has blown after endless speculation (player wages) and now it is balancing. If there was a restart wages would be around what? 50K/team? Less? Does anyone remember? :)
One thing should happen, no team should be forbidden from market access, a small wage amount enough for free players should exist as a minimum cap.

For what I know a bankrupt team or a team with no money reserves, is blocked by the board, and will have a maximum wage zero. If this is the case, then is wrong.
Simple points:
If one of these teams receives a special youth, the special player can not be hired and can not be sold!!! He will be in youths until lost for the market (for free, no income to the bankrupt).
It is not possible to hire free players for low wages but if the squad is too small the board will auto renew players with higher wages (no matter how high).
These teams still can loan players with high wages!
I’m not able to test all conditions, but if the conditions are possible then I think you should consider my conclusions.
Teams should always have ways to get free players and juniors with small wages, I think you should set a minimum wage too, like 3, 4 or 5 Ks, and unlimit wages for the team youths. They need to hire new and cheaper players to release the expensive ones too.
The overall economy seems quite good and regulated, everyone needs to take care of their bank account now :) high wages are droping.

There is a minor bug with international competitions league positions, the league positions aren’t associated with with the season ranking but with the actual ranking.
For example my team in season 2 reached the 7th place and is indicated (in season 2) for UEFA cup, at the time only 6 teams had that access. That information is incorrect and there must be other with no UEFA cup indication that did participate in the competition…

My first 11 official games had overall success, with 17 goals scored against 3 conceaded, and I must notice that most of this result is achieved in championship. Maybe a bit luck for me but nothing special in 2/3 games, something near normal.

Please take in consideration the formation to be used as CPU will use players with the highest skill, generating formations like 5-5-0… If this can happen so 0-5-5 or 5-0-5 can…These formations shouldn’t be created!

My defenders and my goalkeeper have very low stats. It’s not goalkeeper fault if the opposite teams does not shoot on goal! I am sure my goalkeeper is very good at free kicks too :)

With player sides, some possibilities to search players instead of generating lists would be welcome! For example I am trying to find a left defender and this would easier the task a lot, with the advantage of not generating full lists!!!

There will not be extensive resell if loads of free players stop entering the market without a logic comprehension. Clubs loosing top players bacause they lack contract renewals is one example without logic! Also the amounts of certain transfers involving CPU teams… I have a previous post for that…
Total anarchy might be too much for the game, the existing regulation is very good, the problem still is the unbalanced begin, there is no short way back for that, unless you use unfair methods, and please don’t.
I wrote a post about a wagecap to negative clubs (mine was that way at the time), this measure could be extended to positive clubs but you will always have to set it by the club possessions! Unless you force clubs to have 100M at the bank account only spendable at stadium seats to be recovered in 3 seasons for a real top team!
If you want to set a wagecap set it by the club possibilities, a maximum total wage for a club to offer will not deplete the club bank account in n ticks, like forcing a reserve. How can a club spend 100M without paying at least 1-2M total wage?
To bring UEFA or FIFA real life competition rankings to Ruby is a mistake in my opinion, here there are no big cities to generate mass population in the game, and I mean money. All stadiums started with the same capacity and it can’t be more fair!
The best criteria for player transfer is already applied, money (wage)! And the limit is fine, is real big, but it is the only way to consume big clubs money. When many teams offer maximum wage and 3 seasons I think you should consider other criteria yes, but not the weakest team!!!
Good second criteria would be competitions participation, who is where, a team in the champions should be prefered to a team in the UEFA, and these teams to other less positioned team, because those are the games players want to play. It’s not difficult, team in international competition (by competition importance), team in first league, team in second league! And the clubs able to get to final competitions will be prefered to all others in the end of international competitions, they deserve it too, I think.
Third good criteria would be random, I believe it is quite fair too :) but odds should be powered, first to make an offer, number of seasons, club history titles (in ruby), also league points in last and present season, should all count to give more or less chances to clubs, as this would be the final untie!

If possible make them retain their best youth players (like G – Kpg>=70, D – Tac>=70, M – Pas>=70, A – Sho>=70), renew almost all contracts so that these teams retain their value (read don’t loose players for speculation market).
They could go for a low-medium budget squad with 22 players+youths and play friendlies (like 1 friendly/3 ticks) with the opposite player auto selection to use the worst 11 players, improve them, and gain overall squad value! This could improve CPU teams and market behavior taking good part of the free market for player training, with a small cost.
These teams should never pay more than player real value on a transfer, you probably can calculate that, and CPU team wage limitation on contract has to be much much lower. Please let me know about new CPU teams behavior, because I really prefer to sell most of my players for their real value!

Well, I never get tired of saying this… CPU teams are one of the biggest problems… They can buy a 30 M player… I just sold my 31 year old keeper to one, I bought him in season 1 for 450K, he was 81 kpg and worth 4M real value, I sold him for 8 M to a CPU team!
I had half the team for sale by player value more than one season and I couldn’t sell one player by his real value!!!
In the same day one player was sold to Sevilla by 15M, 3 clubs were interested, Sevilla and 2 CPU teams, CPU teams would pay 15M for a player! One colleague had a player for sale for some time, he moved the player from 1M to 4 and the player was sold the very next day to a CPU team…

Danilo… The only results I felt bad for are in university and cannot be erased lol I was just questioning perfectionism and erasing errors as nobody is perfect right? So perfectionists commit errors and live with them I suppose… I wil not waste more lines with these…
I have doubts about stats by formation, for this point of view, managers do change the formation, and now with substitutions, formation can be changed in the same game.
Stats by type of game could be more useful like stats for league games, and stats for friendlies, or other type of games. To me, it’s important to know in league/official games team results, in friendlies I care about player stats…
It’s different, formation is not important to me, the type of game and analysis are… And that’s my feedback… I hope to improve the debate!

Where’s the perfection in hiding/erasing errors?
Some statistics would be nice, there’s no need for everything but overall by team/championship, or championship/team, like end position/end of championship or tick for those that change team, total victories/ties/etc (the columns from the league table), same for cups, and achievements in the end of championship (international competitions/promotions and relegations of course). One line per season/competition!
And these could be private/invisible for other managers, for that particular type of perfectionism…
Also player’s in/out record by team would be very nice, with costs, achievement price and wage offered :). Second, for what I’ve seen, stats for players don’t have club dimension, this makes the stats for your team in previous seasons wrong, you see stats from players that didn’t play for your club, and history stats from players sold are in the new clubs, players that played for two clubs in one season even have stats mixed. This one would be nice too, player stats is like a static image in the end of the relation player-club-championship.
And these are my proposals to give you a lot of work, I like this, all I have to do is write :) cool! (Read it with good mood…)

Perhaps the best way to deal with the RLC is to give one more season! I can live with my RLC squad but I have very few Rs and a lot of Ls in the back quarter (this explains a few results lol).
Somewhere is written you fixed a major bug, I don’t know what was, but I have never seen such amount of strange statistics in match results!
The 3-3-4 seems to be out of performance and that is good for the game…

If you have 11M in your bank account with those wages that means you are earning money selling players… If they were sold to other human players that’s fine by me, but many players are sold in the order of millions to CPU teams, many got rich this way, and this is not equal to great fantastic management!
Some ideas here could represent an excessive regulation in case of a restart, after the squad limitation and the 3 tick regulation transactions were reduced! Things would always be different with only these rules, but other rules, with high importance are coming, like the vacation mode.
I believe much of the speculation happened because of clubs wasted value, and I mean players not money. Many appear incorrectly in the free transfer market, because people went on vacation and lost half the team, because people cheated and enter a new team wasting those players in the market, because CPU teams are specialized in loosing players, buying unopportunistic offers and not improving youths or B squads, and more reasons exist probably!
I think you should focus a bit in solving CPU teams behavior first of all, managers resell because market is flooded with good players all the time! If good players were to be rare they would be correctly sold, not free! And squads would buy to keep them and get results, not sell all you can and get a new team like is possible in the first 3 ticks of the season!

Well, I’d prefer to be completely wrong :( one thing works very well in the three tick mode, the transfers in the start of a new season! At this time it’s the most fair rule ever!
It could be a good idea idea to have different rules in this transfer window (first 8-9 ticks)…
Please consider CPU teams behavior. They don’t sell and they often loose good players, they also buy expensive players! They should deplete free market and take advantage of their youths to have at least 22 player teams and restart friendlies with the lowest players, they have to earn value instead of wasting what they have, do their renewals work well?… They should not compete in the transfers with human players, here machine still is no match for the man :)
To balance the game you can also pick on contract renewals, often players enter market as free because teams just lost them, a week on vacations is enough to loose players most times! Why not offer contract renewal almost any time? Create a small gap between player acquisition and then leave the offer new contract button there, it’s easy I think and it’s more real life too… And take out the button when the player has already negotiated a new contract instead…
This could also be extended to youth players, if a youth is real good the team should offer him a contract right away! It’s cheaper to have a youth to the squad and with luck get another good one, than playing with the youth and hope to have the contract offer possibility on time! If market get flooded with youths promoted and then fired leave them in the youths for a minimum time but with * like a renegotiated or something.

But in real life a small club can make an undeniable offer to a good 16-21 year old player and get him. In ruby soccer a moderate manager that makes a great offer needs three turns for the answer… Should need one!
And there are no small teams or great teams in ruby soccer, only poor or rich teams, players don’t look for a status, only $… The gap is really big, and CPU teams are still buying players in the order of millions!
It doesn’t matter for the richest teams how many years of contract to reduce lately, they are already offering 3 years to get advantage and maximum wage!!! And $ want be a problem… The day you can improve stadium is the day their stadiums will be improved to maximum unless values impossible for the other 100 teams are applied! And their offers will continue!
A enormous gap was created in the beginning and the game should be balanced after rules changes. This 3 tick thing was (and is) not an improvement to make the game more real, is an improvement to anti cheat that benefits the richest teams!
Rich teams still can make big offers but they would need an eye on the market every 6 turns a day instead of 2/day, and that’s more real life…
I don’t bother to compete with them but I didn’t resell more than 10 players or so and I sell them for their value, some teams keep selling in the orders of millions! If this is to be an economy sim then I am in the wrong game and I will make my way to be the first to achieve 1.000.000.000$ (I believe no one is this far yet) instead of getting a good league position, start playing in 3-3-4 and resell resell resell!

I have been discussing with other players and the biggest benefit for rich teams was the 3 tick rule in transfers… The first team to offer contract has to wait 3 turns, a team with a lot of $ can enter in negotiations any time to get the player… It’s like checking the game once every 3 ticks to get all good players! This is reflected in wages which are going to the top…
Manual to get all good players with high wages:
Surprise is nice an I lost a few players because it’s really easy to get a player, all you have to do is make an offer and check how many turns are left… Then make final offers for players in last negotiation turn, with preference for 5 minutes before end of tick…
It’s cool because you know THE CLUBS that have offers in the decision point and you can work how much you offer to overcome everyone…
I can leave an idea, something like this, when a player is set for transfer only enters transfer list in the next tick and stays there for sale the whole tick! If you want to change the bid value or remove the player you can do it before the end of the running tick to take effect in next tick. I player is sold, bubye player…
That way you could buy players 6 times a day and wages get a bit lower, and also prevent most cheating…
