No Hertha manager has lost intrest in Rubysoccer for quite some time now.

Let’s hope the new manager doesn’t waste his money. Hertha always claimed to have almost 1 billion in his account…..

perhaps knowing you only have a “small window to sell”, it might force certain managers to ask market conforn prizes instead of the very inflated ones we see now….

I’m ok with any changes made what so ever. As long as we are allowed to know what the exact changes are and atleast some effects. This way I and the rest can readup about it and start learning how to adapt to it.

@Davison: You know you can always e-mail me with questions. Try for future refence to be a little bit more constructive. It’s easy to complain about everything. Heck, I like doing it aswell. I get those silly losses aswell, where I’m clueless as to how the hell I lost. I usually think……shit happens. It will happen to others aswell, so in the end we all suffer from it. It doesn’t help to just complain about it. Try to suggest some solutions for certain situation. Like you did about the cheaters. Personally I would never let a fired manager be able to manage a top team which opend up. I must admit I liked your suggestion about letting them only be able to apply to div2 teams. Try to keep that up. Give suggestions and solutions instead of criticism and complaints.

On a side note, it’s nice to know Gabriel and Danilo are still working on it, but like charles said….it’s a free game. They do this stuff in there spare time and we need to respect that.

Keep up the good work Gabriel and Danilo!!

P.s.: If you touch france….you touch me :). Be warned about mentioning anything france related :).

Don’t pull my words out of context :). I told you, for a team like yours who is not fighting for 3 titles (yet) that it is a waste of money. It would’t make such a huge difference for you if 1 avarage player was back quicker. You are still growing those superstars and don’t have them yet. Thus, I felt it was silly for a team like yours to have Physio 10 and called it a waste of money :).

Now, I believe I also said, that at times when a crucial player get’s hurt and you need him back asap, you can upgrade to coaching 10 just for that 1 player. Then you can downgrade again when he’s back. I’m sure in the end it won’t cost that much more. Besides, it’s only fake money :)

I’ll e-mail you in game with some extra info.

Sorry but that’s kinda condescending towards Grenoble. You are selling him short. There is only 2 point stamina difference between your game and Grenoble his game. I doubt those 2 stamina points would make such an impact. Grenoble just outclassed Sheffield with his tactic. Perhaps the way Sheffields puts his players just works really well vs your 4-3-3 lineup. He might just avoid alot of confrontation with your superior players. Who knows……

I had an MD in my team playing on ML1. The manager of the team which has this player switch him from MD → DM. Because of this he was taken out of my formation. He did not leave the team, but was just not lined up anymore

This topic also was made for another reason I believe :). Not to discuss potential bugs in the game. There is another forum for this.

let’s ask gabriel to comment, I can only speculate how it works. I was always under the impression that board expectations are based on your entire team. So in theory a team with 11 players on 90 avr and 19 on 70 avr would be considered worse then a team with 30 players who are 88 avr.

Perhaps that’s how it works? It doesn’t look at the team you selected, it looks at the total amount of players compared to the others? Perhaps Brazil still has waaaaay more depth because of the old day’s. Still lots and lots of 90+ avr players who are in there Thirties…….

We need gabriel to confirm this, but this is my theory :)

P.s: I think you are a good dude Filipe :). Don’t forget who got you this “Game Master tag” :), but you must admit that with your latest posts you slightly come accross as this French hater :)

One last thing to also prove our point :). From season 49 to 57 the winner of the EPL has been you Filipe with Man U. Now, offcourse this is very impressive. In those seasons the winners of the french league has been: Bordeaux, brest, auxerre, Marseille and Reims. That’s 5 different teams in the last 8 seasons. That’s how it is with us :. It’s very hard in france to keep winning the league over and over with this amount of good managers.

I don’t agree with you here. You will always see the same teams around. One might have a bad year for whatever reason, but they are still fighting for all prices. You just can’t win the league+CL in france that easy. So you’ll have the core teams that are always around like marseille, bordeaux, auxerre, grenoble and i guess my team brest. Now you have the new faces who are around like Reims, Monaco. Then there is also Vallenciennes and Dijon. Team are improving and changing, so you’ll always see switches in league endings, but non the less…. you’ll still see the same core teams. Just now and then they don’t always get that CL spot.

Don’t forget it’s a huge advantage over the competition to have no international obligations. So the new teams that are up and coming can focus fully on the league and it shows. Like this year with Reims and probebly me with Brest next season. The power lies in the depth of the league. One has a bad year, there is always another to pick up the slack.

So offcourse french teams care about own succes :). I think all want to win CL and/or El when they are in it :).

I guess for you as an “outsider” some things look strange. Like me winning El and ending so low in the league. I was on vacation and preset my matches, but I guess it wasn’t enough :(. I was so far behind when I came back. Couldn’t correct it. Your other example might be Reims last season. making it to cl semi’s and ending 8th. Let me tell you, he was was in 4th position with 1 match remaining, but because it was all so close he ended 8th after losing the last match of the season.

Yeah france has been #1 for about 8 or 9 seasons now. Think the difference is that french teams have always been active and keep on refreshing there teams. If one drops another team stands up again. This year Monaco was the new guy who did well in CL. Last season it was Rennes who suddenly made it to the semi finals. There is always alot of team around to do well. Besides the common teams it’s also 2-3 new teams who always stand up :)

I don’t see france losing that #1 spot any time soon :)

Any team out there who either has an older goalkeeper or a spare goalkeeper they don’t mind selling? I’m not rich so, if you ask 50+ I can’t buy him.

Well, in some way he is slightly succesfull. Not sure if it’s all thanks to him, but england has been climbing in the uefa ranking. Then again it’s hard to really point out a reason. Some might say that spain has just gone down in ranking. They haven’t performed like they use to.

We’ll see about that :). Tobad Valenciennes got “slightly” unlucky not to make it through to the group phase….

Don’t forget the french teams are slaughtering each other in the league. Seems any team can lose to anyone and beat anyone. All teams are very close together

The player will chose the team where he will have the most chance of playing. So this kinda meens he will most likely pick the weakest team that is negociating. In order to still get the player you need to offer a really high wage. It’s a secret how it exactly works, but if your team is just MUCH better then the other teams negociating, the player hispreference will be for those weaker teams.

Double the wage is usually not enough, you need to THINK BIG and make it 3x of 4x as much and MAYBE he’ll pick your team.

This simply was implemented to give a better chance of smaller teams to get some young talent from the free transfer.

I personally think value could be deleted from the game. To many managers suddenly think there players is actually worth that much, while the real market value for such a player is not even close to that amount.

Value of a player has no influence on your overall performance as a team. So who cares what players are worth wether it’s 90 or 100 mill……..who gives a damn.

No offence Ulisses, but this has happend forever in this game. It use to be a common thing in Managersim to outbid the other teams 1 sec before the tick. Heck, I recall setting my alarm clock to be able to outbid someone in the middle of the night.

I don’t want to be totally rude to you, but I know why you bring this up now. It’s because Valladolid outbid you on the last minute on Antonio Islas. I think you of all people knows this happens plenty in this game. I feel it’s only now that you were the victom that you bring it up on this topic.

I say nothing needs to be done. This is something that happens in real life football aswell.

You are approaching the game in a very intresting way, but it’s not how things work. Don’t forget this game is made out of 0’s and 1’s :). It can’t actually think you know :). It’s just facts and math behind it. They just put in certain rules how a player comes to his choice. I don’t know the math behind it. That’s a secret I guess. It has to stay that way otherwise we get chaos. To summerise, let’s say a certain team has a total of 83avr players while yours might have 85. He’ll chose to go to the 83avr team since his avr skill is closer to 83 then it is to yours of 85. Now, in order to get the player to go to your team you need to offer an X amount more then the opponent. Now here is where I also don’t know the exact numbers. Perhaps when the 2 teams aren’t that far apart it’s only double the wage. I guess in your case, your team was just so much better that double the wage wasnt enough.

Now you need to understand the reason why this rule was implemented. if a new manager enters the game, with no real money of his own, he needs to look at cheap players or free transfer players. It would be unfair if any big club outbids him on every single decent player he go’s for. So gabriel and danilo decided to implement this to give a slight advantage to smaller teams.

Let’s be fair here, it’s only for those cheap or free transfer players, since any player listed for 15mill+ becomes a different story. Since we assume that those small teams don’t have that kind of cash, or would spend that much on just 1 player.

I hope this clears things up. You can e-mail me in game if you want for any further followup questions and I’ll help you as best as I can.

Sorry but, who voted on that “same country” thingy? I think it’s more silly to play the same team from your group then playing someone from your own country. I don’t care about facing a french team in the quaters at all. Facing the same team from my own group is just UNREALISTIC.

I personally would like to have a vote or something to see this changed. It’s just stupid.

I think 1 thing is quite annoying. I’ve had it in Cl and this season again in EL. When going to the quaters i don’t think you should be playing a team from your own group YET AGAIN. That’s just silly.

I think we should look into this, because this isn’t a very realistic transfer price and it doesn’t look like it’s part of a player+cash deal. I’ve done that in the past and then you just pay a higher amount to each other just to make nobody interferes with your transfer.

yes but that was season 23, that’s 22 seasons ago. I’m sure you don’t remember your merchandise from back then, but I’m 100% sure it was more then you are getting now.

Key to succes in this game, is having a wide selection of players, so that 1 injury or 2 or even 5…won’t hurt your performance. When CL would start for me, I would play 2 entirely different teams. This way I would always have 100 stamina. So in theory, I could handle 6 injuries and 4 red cards at once (since i only always have 1 goalkeeper)….and I would still be able to field a decent team.

So instead of selling those players who didn’t turn out to be superstars, I keep them in order to uphold stamina, and be able to adapt when I get a red card or 2……

You got to realise…. it’s not that easy to perform well in ruby :). Takes time and effort. If you don’t have that, that’s ok, but that meens your performance will be hurt by it.

Hope this helps you a bit.

Regards,
Sylvain
