In my 8th post I don’t state that “some thing is not required since ex-managerism didn’t have it”. I said with Ruby it’s an improvement on how it was with managersim. With managersim you could only search on 1 stat. I’ll explain further since you don’t seem to be understanding it that well. With the comment “you could only search for 1 stat”, meens that in those times it was REALLY HARD to search well with scouting. So hard it made it useless. I am NOT SAYING, “it’s not required since it wasn’t in managersin”. You are complaining that scouting isn’t to your liking. You want even better results. What I was emplying here is that, you are in a luxurious position here. Scouting is pretty good for those who are used to managersim. Perhaps you didn’t know, but I believe “a big chunk” of the managers in this game are ex-managersimmers :)

With your comment, “scouts get a chunk of money”. Level 1 scouting is 1500 a week. You can’t even pay 1 player for that. 1500 is not a “chunk of money”. It’s peanuts, even to small teams like yours.
I really don’t see any improvement on scouting. You can fill in ALL STATS you want. You can put in weather it gives you listed or non listed players OR BOTH! I believe you can even put in a player value! Now…..PLEASE TELL…..what more do you need to know? I think you shouldn’t question the scouting, perhaps you should question your skills in finding decents players :)…or knowing what they look like :)

there are some ways to play, like if your team has good dribble/passing why would you take passing on long? Your team got good heading/shotting, shit dribble…maybe long passing is an option for you.

You can also think formation wise, you got 3 good defenders and 6 good midfields, think you should go for 3-5-2. if you got more defenders that are better then your midfielders i would go for 4-4-2.

Players with good stats are also importent ofcourse, but tactics can make a difference. Just look @ the CL this year ;)
davison, the cards thing is based on your Formation Strategies by tackling intensity. You play hard, they will tackle hard/more often which result in quicker yellow/red. If you get to much, you can always change your intensity.
1. click on his name, then u come in player options. There is a green line that something says like “offer contract renewal”
2. you can’t. Leveling coaching to 10 is the way. You will train people automatically. The higher the level the quicker they go
3. stamina only reduces the stat speed, the lower the stat the quicker he can get an injury (not 100% sure of this though).

Tenho um time em condicoes de subir para a primeira divisao, mas por algum motivo nao rende em campo. Como sou novo no jogo, imagino que tenha “segredos” que eu nao conheco.
O jogo tem algum tipo de importancia ao meio campo maior que o ataque? Ou vice-versa?
Em relacao a defesa, qual sua importancia? No “fast” tem um time com 2 zagueiros que jogam abertos para os lados na final da copa da uefa, como eh possivel?
No que o jogo se baseia para vir com o resultado??? Alguma formula magica?
ps. A mensagem nao eh uma critica, apenas uma pergunta e especulacao para melhorar o meu time.

English: I’ve got a team that could be on the top of the Brazilian second division, but for some reason the victories aren’t coming. Since I’m new at the game, I would guess there is maybe secrets that I’ve no clue yet.
Does the game have any kind of more importance on the midfiels other than the attack? Or vice-versa?
What about defense? How important is it? At the fast-tick, there is a team at the UEFA Cup final which play with only 2 defenders spread out to the sides, how is it possible?
What does the game base it on to come up with the results? Any magic formula?
ps. That is not a critic. I’m just trying to come up with something that will improve my performance.

scouts get gaid a chunk of teams budget every week… so, with scouting it is logical to demand better options to search players. i am not demanding anything in “transfer/loans” sections
ups, my bad :D, sorry…. but i think that increasing is not very good, cause it takes too long, i believe 3 is the right number :D

hey, i agree with that kind of “negociation time”, but the 3 tick wait is good, because gives the chance to other players to bid higher.
for example, ate 4:50 am you place a higher bid on a player, the other one that was bidding just gets to the computer at 10:00 am, you already have the player and he didnt stand a chance….
so i believe the 3 tick wait is a good method for open chance…

2 – How does the training work and where do you hire coaches?
3 – What level of stamina means that a player needs to rest?

I agree with Gabriel that we shouldn’t make things to easy, when it comes to finding players. You should be rewarded for hard work when searching, to find that “golden nugget” that everyone missed.

and sly, i didn’t say ur ex-managerism was a bad game… i never played it so, i don’t know how it was. but if there were good things then those things will be definitely added ( albeit could take more time ), but ur suggestion that “some thing is not required since ex-managerism didn’t have it” is not a good logic…
we can still have options to sort the search results on the order of headings available. (at least according to the search options ).
another thing that i miss from managersim
is warning the player of his conduct.
like if his pissn about getting red cards and playing shite but skilled and is just under achieving… then i like the warning and the moral level…. so you can snap out your team out of a shit streak

everytime i login on the forum the green button appairs that there is a new msg when there isn’t one. I’ve heard some other people got this to. Someone else with this problem?
I think many with me will agree Managersim was awesome and had far more depth then Ruby. Managersim had multiple tactics like: Zoneplay, directbal, passing, longball. It had hidden stats and something called flair. You were able to select a captain and it matterd who that was. Players weren’t bound to a coaching level since you had coaches yourself. Those coaches had personal skills. You could train players in fitness, offence, defence, teamplay. I’m missing out tons of things atm. So, I think you better listen to those ex-managersimmers when they have suggestions. Ruby is still very basic, and imo can’t match Managersim for the moment. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s a fun past time. Its also still improving so many “ex-managersim” managers have high hopes for Ruby. I hope one day Ruby will surpass managersim and bring back those good old warm feelings :)

The search results you get from the scout are exactly those that you put in…..so I don’t really see your point here. You get what you ask for. I just bought 2 players thanks to the scout.
i was saying about the search result that u get from the scouts, not the scouting process itself…
and not everyone wants everything that was there in you ex-something something game… i never played that so i don’t care what was present in that game.
and i am not angry… :) i just want this game to be its own, not an exact copycat of any other games…
Scouting works juts fine….what more do you need to know. With managersim you could only search for 1 specific stat. Here you can fill in all stats! That’s an improvement and it’s been made easier for you.

I totally agree, it would be a great addition to be able to allow highest bidder to negotiate alone. It would benefit selling part by means of an increased transferprice and benefit buying part by means of making sure they get the player and avoid having to pay those ridiculous high wages.
I would like to see a change in the way transfers work now. As it is now you bid on a player and it starts counting down from 3 ticks to 1. After the 1 tick you will get the player if you offer the right price and wage. You will get the player RIGHT AWAY.

Now here is where I would like to see it like it was in managersim. I think something should change in the current way of dealing which could help with the high wages in the game. I think the seller should be able to drop lower transferbids and accept higher ones.

I want to be able to outbid my competition and negociate for the contract alone, so I won’t be forced to offer some crazy wage in order to get the player. I’ve had it happen that I was the only 1 bidding with 1 tick left, but I didn’t offer the right wage. Tick after that I knew what wage to offer the player, only to see some other manager come in and “steal” him from under me with a higher wage.

I would like to see an option that the transfer is “closed” so you can simply negociate for the wage without having to worry some other team swhooping in. Perhaps this could be made possible by having more then a 3 tick “waiting time”? As it is now you can offer a lower amount and then when 3 ticks pass your bid isn’t dropped. I’ve seen stupid bids on some of my 20+ mill value players. I don’t mind seeing that stupidity dropped after 3 turns. If you simply don’t offer the right transfer amount your bid should be dropped after 3 turn. I really don’t see the point of this not happening.

I experienced that if a player has a high salary for his class (acquired on a free transfer, for example), he will agree to be paid 20-25% less.
