We’ll create a different variable that will have only the score and review the approved articles that should use this new variable. It will be something like %{match.score}
Regarding your team result not being in the newspaper, maybe it would be if we had enough templates, who knows :D
you want me to adjust the coding of the page “newspaper” ? I’m kinda a newbie with codes :)
I think u got yourself in trouble by accepting different numbers of characters. The only way i see that we can improve the layout is to make the top bar with news only max like 200 characters and use the larger generated text below the first collum. Maybe make a max and min with like 25 characters difference? Should be alot nicer to see then and not those huge big gabs.
I’ll try to make a decent page in html and send it u when i got some time this weekend.

I thought my 16th place teams’ beating of the then 4th placed (now 5th) Espanyol deserved some mention in the newspaper:P

I guess it should better reflect the difference in class between teams =)

By the way, why does that %{match.result} also include team name?? i thought the results were supposed to be understood in the form home X away team scores. if it is so, team names would be redundant, won’t they?

The ranking and The Board are not connected. The Board evaluates your performance against what was expected while the ranking purely reflects match results. So a draw when you have more than 100 points in the ranking will always mean you lose some points, no matter against who you played.

Unfortunately it won’t. Rules are applied individually so when the first one is checked it won’t be applied cause there is already a player on that position, it assumes you don’t want to swap. Danilo should be the one to comment that and discuss any improvement as he’s the one who designed the match actions stuff.
don’t worry, we will be reviewing everything gradually. i’ve just fixed one article like that, by the way.

After a draw at home against Varzim I’ve gone down from 184 to 183 in manager rating points ! Is it fair ? =)

Some typing errors are causing problem in the newspaper articles. like usage of ‘(’ brace instead of ‘{’ ( in my case).
i hope u would let us correct them once more…
There at least 4 basic differences between your picture and the current design:
1) text font: that is a part that could be worked on. but we have to keep in mind that sometimes we can´t have huge fonts on titles. some of the titles are long!
2) the column in the right: well, this is the first version of our newspaper and, as we said, it only contains match result types of articles, for now.
3) the picture: i will still implement tat. the idea is to have a good variety of pictures, but they have to be very generic for this type of article.
4) Interview: again, to be implemented. only match result article types for now.
Other than that, we still don’t have enough templates do populate all of our most important news, and we still need to adjust/provide some more parameters for our reporters.
Here’s my suggestion so we can improve the current design: save one of our newspaper pages (backup the files), make your adjustments and send us back both packages (the backup and the adjusted one, so we can compare and see the code differences). I understand that, with the current design, you don’t even want to be mentioned as a contributor for that page :D.

About the newspaper: It would be nice to have some option about the level of the match, so some articles wound’t sound so strange talking about a friendlies… Or the levels of the teams. So when we had a Bayern vs Hertha in Germany it could be named in the newspaper as the “match of the season”.
