OK thanks, that answers my question.
The player with the highest value attributes is going to be the better player and the marks out of ten are reflecting the players contribution to any given game based on many variables.
Match rating of players is not exactly absolute, but relative to the quality of opposition being played, since the last changes. (check the improvements forum, page no 8). Player rating is based on the quality of opposition you have faced. The better the quality of your opposition, the better valuation they get and vice versa…
But then a better value for a lower skill player is always desirable.
It is a difficult decision to make, but then common sense always says us to pick the better player…
But player selection is a tough job and would depend on Away/Home and opposition quality, + no of competitions you are entered in etc.
For eg,
in my case if i was playing “away” against an opposition whom i had no chance of winning, i would field the lower skill player ensuring they get match exposure, and if my opponent is someone who i can beat, i would play my best players, to ensure i get all the points. This might not be the best way, but then no one is sure which one is:)
I was wondering if there is a simple answer of who to pick in your team if you have a player that has better attributes and a player that gets better marks out of ten.
So, if Player1 has clearly better stats but averages 7 out of 10 and Player2 has weaker stats but averages 8 out of 10, who do you pick?
After a relatively successful time at Zwolle, i am moving to PSG for a greater challenge…
i hope i can deliver at this time of need…

Filling the gaps: we thought about it, but soon we’ll have enough articles and there will be no gaps.
View the last 2 or 3 newspapers: we’ll have that.
Other countries newspaper: we’ll also have that, for now you can put the country number in the newspaper url, like http://www.rubysoccer.com/game/newspaper/1 will show you the newspaper for Brazil, FastTicker.
Please send some invites.
Thanks
not a single person thought to recommend:(
I’m also not keen on articles which just state the match result given that we now have the same at the bottom of each article. It’s distracting that these are links that show up in green, it would look better if all the article text was black.
Haha, that was one of mine. It was a play on words, “streak” as in “to run naked in public”, hence the reference to a streaker in the article. I think you’re right though, we all have to consider that English is not the first language of everyone here and therefore won’t necessarily understand the humour.
Just to pick up on something Nirabdha said, I understand that you have a selection criteria for which articles take priority, but should we not be picking at least enough matches to fill all the articles rather than leave gaps?
Any thoughts on being able to view the last 2 or 3 newspapers in case you miss the one after the main league tick?
Are there plans to be able to view newspapers for other leagues/countries eventually?
cheers.

Rubysoccer Team Player List Plus 0.0.1
Hi all. I’ve made a little script for team players list. It adds 3 new colums in this list:
It is simple, but Ive used it to learn how to work with greasemonkey.
If you don’t know what is greasemonkey:
It is an addon from Firefox thats allow change webpages on-the-fly.
You can download this scripts at:

Cya!
That was not planned, you’re supposed to receive new messages only if the bid’s transfer value changes, not the contract :P
Thanks for reporting!
Hey,
Cool that u get a transfer message in your mailbox if there is a proposel made, but it’s it kinda to much that u get the same message very time when they bid on wages? I’m getting 3 messages for 1 single player from 1 team.
Super. Didn’t know it was already on the program, but that’s just great. Look forward to see it implemented.
You guys…I told you these are not the exact number, I haven’t done the math :D
hmm… maths should be correct but the interpretation could be a lil bit different.
i guess a youth player now has 20% less chance of developing into a star… ( is that any different from what u said, literally yes, but then i am no linguist;) )
Hmm, so we will have 20% less stars ? Or my math is wrong ?
alexander, it is in their system enhancement list. Something similar had been suggested some time back too…

I think it would be a great addition to be able to view this season total income and expenses. It would give a better impression of how things are running. Furthermore by including the last couple of seasons total you can easily get an overview of the clubs economic progress.
so, any solutions in the near future ;) its not a high priority job but still please note it down in your low priority lists
Yeah, when lots of passes happen in the same replay block (whose duration is 10 seconds in the match) only the beginning and end are displayed in the animation, the intermediate steps are displayed only in the comments.
sometimes the replay @ 1x misses some importent stuff to… Ball goes from D -1 to A+1 without showing the steps in between if there was not a long ball.
i personally find it difficult to follow the commentary and game simultaneously at 1X speed. would be of great relieve to me…
1/2x or 1/4x can be easily added. We have plans to create an offline replay viewer in the future.
Small Positive difference means 1 goal difference more than expected, so in this case you mean it should be small negative difference (expected 5-3 was 4-3). I believe that in this particular case the article selected did not have the sub-category, just the category “Match Result As Expected”.
You’re right about this heading, doesn’t seem right :D

Can we have match replay at 1/2x or 1/4x speed?
i wonder who watches the replay at 3X or 4X speed and understands anything going on except the score?
if it is not possible then, i would once again ask not to erase the commentary but provide it in a scrolling list below replay screen, which we should not be able to copy or take offline from the system?
(i remember this commentary issued was raised before too, and i believe if the match speed is reduced, we can read the commentary before it is erased and follow the match screen too).
i would also like to ask the relevance of this newspaper heading: “Bore draw leads to winning streak!” ?
How can a draw extend your winning streak? it might extend your “not losing streak” (or however you define it) but a winning streak…
gab, i found that:) my away game against getafe got on the headlines for those reasons you just stated. but i think proper articles are not being selected for the kind of matches. Levante led Getafe ( home game for getafe) for almost 80% of the game, but at the end lost 4-3 to Getafe. I am sure Getafe must have fielded second string players, but then levante did have its fair share of suspensions to most important players.
I am not complaining about my teams loss, but just saying that we can improve the kind of articles being selected based on the result. The article selected was something like " Getafe didn’t have any problem in beating levanted by 4X3 as expected". I think the kind selected were “Match Result As Expected” and “Score were as expected”, but should have been more like “Match Result As Expected” and “Small Positive Difference”. If the selection was correct then, may be we are making mistakes in writing articles. Something like phishing, where our function add(a,b) actually performs the subtraction operation.
i think submitting more articles is the only way forward.
