I’ve seen America-RN beat Santo Andre 5-1 in the shootout =)
But in that situation 3-0 would be enough and correct. Because in real life the shootout ends when it is clear who wins the first block of five. 3-0 is enough, because even if America-RN didn’t score 2 more and Santo Andre did, it would still be 3-2. So I don’t know why 5-1 =)
i think we should move ahead from this “what we had before” and “what we shouldn’t have had no” argument… that is going to lead us nowhere… i am sure we are going to get a solution that fits all… after all, having both the continents has added more excitement, at least that is what i feel. Users are divided, but then if you check the top leagues of the established countries in the fast ticker (countries added before Netherlands), they are almost full…
vaughn’s suggestion could be one to explore… although more users would always be better
Special thanks to James Prentice and Neil Green, our biggest templates contributors. Here are the classifications we need most:
[1, 0, #] >>The winner and the loser really were the expected teams
[1, 0, 0] >>>>>>Scores exactly as expected
[1, 0, 1] >>>>>>Small positive difference. Example: expectation 1×0 result 2×0
[1, 0, 2] >>>>>>Medium positive difference. Example: expectation 1×0 result 3×0
[1, 0, 3] >>>>>>Large positive difference. Example: expectation 1×0 result 4×0
[1, 0, 4] >>>>>>Small negative difference. Example: expectation 4×0 result 3×0
[1, 0, 5] >>>>>>Medium negative difference. Example: expectation 4×0 result 2×0
[1, 1, #] >>The winner and the loser were not the expected teams
[1, 1, 1] >>>>>>Small difference. Example: expectation 1×0 result 0×1
[1, 1, 2] >>>>>>Medium difference. Example: expectation 1×0 result 0×2
[1, 2, #] >>>>Tied match result (Both teams scored the same number of goals)
[1, 2, 0] >>>>>>Scores exactly as expected
[1, 2, 1] >>>>>>Small difference. Example: expectation 1×0 result 1×1
[1, 2, 2] >>>>>>Medium difference. Example: expectation 2×0 result 1×1
Also , we need size variety. We have 3 options of sizes, the small one is going to be more frequent on our newspaper. But we need templates for all 3 sizes!
cheers!
12 seasons with Bayern, 1 title, 11 times finished second…including last 7 seasons. No CL titles, only 2 Deutsche Cups.
Is he an alive manager or just a very good AI ? =)) What about…ambitions ?
Ironically, he is #2 in the overall rankings. Again, after Philipp.
JACOB, YOU DESERVE BETTER !!!!!
I expect that I will be able to turn the newspaper on next week. We still need more templates. I am going to post here the types we need as soon as I get home.
cheers!
it was stuck. but now the problem is fixed and it should be ok. cheers!
ahh-ha…I play an AL club, but that would suck if I lose =)
damn and right at the same time of the cup final ticks :)….grrr…….. the tension is killing here :)
Now the tick is too long =)
eurotest in Managersim had all kinds of extra countries, that you could not join. This just to make sure R1 and R2 was also possible in that gameworld. Perhaps this could be an idea? Add like ghost countries for now in order to expand the internation options?
So any update regarding the newspaper? :) Articles going fast/good? I’m really waiting for it ;)
Maybe make the cpu teams more interactive? Like selling/buying players and more “normal” lineups? Not like 5-4-1 or 2-4-4..
We added South America because we missed it on MS and we were able to attract lots of brazilians to the game because of that. We added Europe because it has great leagues and international competitions in real life, and that’s what we should start with as we came from MS. We simply couldn’t start with only one of them :D
We understand more countries are fundamental for the fun of the game, even if we don’t have enough people on them yet ;)

But but but I am against =)
We will have a world competition, similar divisions, same rules in all countries…we just have to change names into something like CC Molan, Royal Medrid, Monkeystar United….and it will be a totally fantasy game =)
perhaps you should have gone with the basics. Get to the level of Managersim and then go beyond. Start with europe and then go bigger. You say you can’t have Round 1 and 2 yet because you don’t have enough people playing. I hope you know that you actually do have enough people playing, but they don’t play together. If you would put all those players in south america in europe or visa versa you would be able to have the european games like Managersim had. It’s because they are devided that you are unable to…..

just for 8 millions… come on grab him up…
I’d like to standardize this number of teams per division, something around 20, where 3 would be relegated. I’ll make a poll about that. The reason behind this is again to give all countries similar chances to compete.
It represents the real life situation and division sizes. Smaller leagues get less experience points, but have better stamina situation. The only thing I don’t like is that in Russia I had to wait 30 turns before the first league match =)
Hi all,
I’ve been looking at some countries for some time and noticed alot of countries have only 16 teams while other countries have 20. Paraguay even only have 12! I think this is a big disadvantage for loaning out/growing players. Is this fair?
Nicky
We want to go further than ManagerSim, so Europe wouldn’t be enough! :D
you should have sticked with just europe :)….less problems :)
Right now I am just on for about 2 minutes, so I will send you a message about that later, Neil. That is a generic automatic comment, because I did not implement the option for us admins to customize it yet :D. But the general rule is that articles need to stick to the template guidelines (type, category, sub category). If you wrote somethink like ‘player X got a red card’ or ‘the team won 3 points’ or ‘the team could not make to the next phase of the national cup’, a review is necessary, because the current article guidelines are much more generic than that. In future we will have more and more kinds of guidelines, and more particular articles will be possible. cheers!
Yes, it’s back again – I assume we’re not supposed to be able to edit the approved articles.
I have one article to review with the admin’s comments “Please review this article text. After that, we might accept it.” but no indication of what is to be reviewed. I’m not sure if there are errors in it that need to be corrected, if it’s too long/short, or if they just don’t like the content of the article in general and I should scrap it! Could we get some more guidance with the article feedback?
Neil, you were right. Take a look now, it should be working. cheers!
Neil, that is very strange! Could you please send a screenshot to admins at rubysoccer.com?
cheers
I can’t seem to edit the newspaper articles I’ve submitted. One has been approved, two are pending (with one of them awaiting my review) but I can’t edit any of the three, there doesn’t appear to be any kind of link to click? It says that the editor has left comments on the one to be reviewed but I can’t read those either.
I’m sure there was an edit button there yesterday against each article but it appears to have gone.
cheers,
Neil.
We can’t forget the difference that would cause between european and south american competitions. I believe we are going in the standardization direction, not implementing that kind of specific rules. I’m tempted in doing a poll about that, as I said, cause we have to choose to either have the specific rules or a more integrated RubySoccer world were every country / continent follow the same standard rules so they can be compared and compete fairly against each other.
Gabriel. I know it’s more complex in real life. But again I’m pulling the Managersim card. If you don’t qualify for Cl → move to Uefa/EL Group stages. In managersim when you got knocked out of CL, you moved to uefa right away. Infact, if you were 3rd in your group of CL in round 1, you also moved to uefa. But then again, managersim had a knockout tournament with uefa, while ruby has group stages.
You simply can’t get around the fact that playing internatinonal games is the most fun. I hope you can implement that ASAP.
