If you have on the one hand a player, that plays 6 out of 36 matches (~16%), and on the other hand at the same a team that leads the league table and reaches CL QF without a problem (without the players help), the board’s statement “This player is too important to the squad to be fired.” is a bug to me. Sorry.

Maybe not a bug of the hard coded players value formula, but a bug by the obvious numbers (playtime, matches, his contibution to the success).

Normally i wouldn’t have had him fired due his achievements for the club, but as there is no mentorship yet or the like, he has to move for a young gun.
A bug means malfunction of a designed and implemented feature/function, ie something is not working the way it is supposed to, a defect even.
Also, who would want to fire a person who said he will quit work?
I am guessing that you want to kick him and open a space for a replacement, but the lack of functions to make a swift change doesn’t mean this is a bug.
In any normal job, you (the boss) would be prepared to look for a replacement, bring him(or her) in and have the guy leaving handover his knowledge to the replacement.
This is football of course, you shouldn’t have to kick this guy to let some younger player know that he is to fill the retiring player’s shoes next season. Perhaps a new function to put the retiring player mentor more the younger guy and depending on his personality and skill, could aid the younger player to develop better during the last season of a retiring (older) player. But that is a different story.. :)

Dirk is right, the only factor besides wage is first team opportunity. I don’t remember the numbers but for keepers it is possible that if he would be the best keeper in a team vs. the third or worse keeper in another he accepts a wage around half what the best team offered.
Wow, his value is already $338,116,830. Knowing he has only a starting value of $164 277 every player is a potential star :)
The clue is he played almost 400 matches and played all league matches from his 17 birthday. So does somebody want to loan my youth goalie Chavez. He has a higher staring value AND he is Argentinian. :-D lol

Lets get my Champs League history:
I have played 6 matches and have 4 players injuried.
My 5 latests matches in Primeira Divison:
I had more 4 players injuried.
So, in 11 matches I had 8 injuried players.
You can say that I have old player, but they don´t have 80 years old to get so many problems.

@Dirk: then the best teams do not stand a chance to small teams with weaker first teams … btw: my bid was muuch higher than the one he agreed on.

Transferprices are lowered.
Players on free transfer choose the team where they have the best chance to play in 1st team. Maybe the position on the field (L, C or R) of the player is also important but I’m not sure. They will only reconsider your bid when it is much higher than the other team. I don’t know how much higher your bid should be.
Have there been any changes to the (free agent) players decision making logic lately? Isn’t money/wage the only criteria anymore?
This guy just passed on an amount of extra cash and decided to go for a “small” salary at Sevilla …

Many thanks, Gabriel. According to my formula he was not 2nd best ;-) Anyway, a manager should be able to release a guy (right away) who announces his will to retire at the end of a season.
There is no bug here, the board considers him your second best, not 4th best attacker. We know you’re not cheating so I’ll fire him for you ;-)
You have to think about your country! If teams from the same country don’t face each other both have a chance to win and score points for their country ranking ;-)
I know, you were unlucky, the same country problem is more critical in South America. But I hope this will change soon when we have 8 groups instead of 4!

ummm i face Real Sporting de Gijón in the CL 1/4 finals…we were in the same group!…..the format is messed up i think worse than teams matching up from same country…hope you guys can figure out a better solution :)

Teams from the same country will not face each other anymore in qualifying and final stages of international competitions, unless it is inevitable. We’re working on applying the same rule to the group stage in order to spread teams from the same country in different groups when possible.

Yes, it is. You can expect more changes on that logic for next season (or the one after). I’m finally working on preventing same country matches as far as possible on international competitions ;-)

a player with 89 tackle at age 20 is selling for 22m… bayern munich offerd 15 knowing that the player im selling will be worth tripple that eventurally
