Within 24 hrs the ghost manager lets his two best players Labat and Machado got on the free market without renewing their contract. The manager has been active in time to have had the contracts renewed, so there are no excuses for mr. John Smith (or John Doe)
In addition, it’s my opinion that all such firings or releases by ghost managers should be overruled regardless of player value or the team that have hired the player in a bidding war for the simple reason that the result is market distortion.
think of Manchester cITY now or Chelsea a few years back and you know it’s just not virtuality we are talking about. And yet, he is, within his right, damaging the rest of us. lol
Machester United will probably be banned in the same way too, for talent pouching. Serves them about right I say

actually Philipp Chelsea and Liverpool have played in the same group in the 2005-06 competition. But that was because the Reds had won the CL in 2005 and ended up only 5th in EPL. Hence, there were 5 English teams in CL next season, even though Everton never made it to the group stages.
That said you are correct. Same country teams should not play in the same group
@ Gabriel: Once teams are automatically divided in 4 pools, you can do the dealing manually to form the groups and apply the not-from-the-same-country rule
@Nirabdha
I think your suggestion is screwing us up :P
A (-3) punishment hurts a team more than a (+3) rewards it. The difference stands in the percentages between Before and After the rule is applied:
Let’s say both teams have100 pts in their natural state. If we use the +3 rule, then the home team will get an extra 30 pts for a total of 130.
Gain=130/100=77%. It means the home team has strengthened by 30%
If we apply the -3 rule then the team will lose a 30 pts to a total of 70
Loss=100/70=143%, which means traveling team is 43% weaker then it’s natural state.
Of course, differences in percentages is smaller in RS because numbers involved (a team’s excel value) are bigger
.
The application of the (-3) rule on the traveling goalie (if it is actually applied) is even more so devastating, because his main ability is more so important than that of an outfielder. No wonder, my poor Ribas got perforated 7 times from three quarters of the pitch (that’s like shooting from 30 meters away)
Bordo 8 × 5 Strasbourg
4-4-2 formation 3-4-3
50% possession 50%
23 shots 28
21 shots on target 27
94% accurrate passes 90%
43% effective tackles 51%
4 corners 5
5 offsides 1
11 fouls
This is utterly ridiculous. And I don’t mean the score as a whole. Almost all Bordo’s goals were LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG shots…..
Something’s got to give here
nah, the strongest species survives, money rule the globe, and world domination lays ahead…. :P
The opportunities to make income are there for everyone to take. Some teams get richer because of better management and that’s about it. And I do think if managers stick to a few principles, then all managers can make money one way or another. When I first rejoined the game almost 5 seasons ago, the market seemed over inflated and rather stagnant in term of transactions dynamic, but with time…and a bit of patience…I have managed to find great deals.
The biggest problem, from what I have noticed, is that half the managers don’t yet grasp the growth system in this game, because they are either don’t bother to read the forums, or are too lazy to as questions.
Actually, he’s team is performing in terms of chances creation. But his D is killing him!
Nice 3 vs 0 Bordo 16-11
Bordo 3 vs 1 Soschaux 22-18
Strab 4 vs 0 Bordo 21-10
Bordo 2 vs 2 Nancy 32-11
Saint 0 vs 1 Bordo 9-15
Bordo 4 vs 4 Lens 30-23
PSG 3 vs 2 Bordo 17-32
Bordo got only 1 point from the two games it clearly dominated without doubts.
Good players for loan all aged 22, lots left to improve, and perfectly suitable for any midtable team

Lived in sin, welcome in boys :)
pfff this is not Winner Takes It All =)
Example (similar to Vaughn’s post above): Strasbourg
At the end of season 23 Strasbourg sold its 2 best players for a total of 90 mill
Since then Strasbourg has bought a total of 14 players in the market spending 87.6 mill. The real value (not the market value) was much smaller)
2 of the players bought have been sold for a total of 17 mill and the rest have a total value of 108.4 mill as listed in the players page. However, the market value of all this players is higher! only 2 players have finished growth, the rest will keep increasing in value
From simple calculations we have:
Purchases = 87.6 mill (market value)
Value = 125.4 mill (real value)
Profit = 37.6 mill
I can gladly conclude strasbourg has made good business by growing its assets and let’s not forget in terms of market values the team’s wealth is much higher than 125.4 mill
Lastly, I have not included another 18 players purchased between the age of 17-20 on free starting 4 seasons ago (when I took the job), whose value is pretty much all profit after substracting the money spend on their wages :).
Vaughn I don’t think you should charge more for goals allowed than for goals scored. That would financially kill teams at the bottom of the table
Le Havre (ranked 17th) = 7×25k + 37×1k – 98X5 = 306k – 490k= (184000)
Anyway, the sums applied here are symbolical and do not make that much of a difference in a team’s income.
I think a reward system should be complemented, but it should by far not match the basic source of income which comes from sales vs purchases of player (including here growing successful youth)
What most people should understand is that:
1.Success gets rewarded therefore successful teams should have bigger incomes based on rewards
2.As many managers from big teams have explained before, it’s not cash in possession that counts (financially speaking cash in hand is pretty much useless as it does not generate income).
The real wealth of the club is its assets (its players). Ppl should take notice that when Big Team A buys a player worth 150 Mln, it probably managed to do so by selling 2-3 of its players to raise the money, rather that just unloading cash from its back account :)
Got you!
I will be away for week to the beach and I will start right away on my return.
well, I use facebook a lot, but my guess is all social networks like MySpace and Twitter work the same. All you have to do is start your own Rubby Soccer “Page” or a RubbySoccer Group, both have the same purpose but the page version shows up as an advertisement in any personal page (sort of like with Google banners), and then let us know so we can become fans of your page or members of your group. Once we are in, we can send invites to our friends to also becomes fans and members of the RS Page and RS Group, and that’s how you become known: NETWORKING :)
I don’t know what the plans for the game are in the future, but opening a RubySoccer page in network sites like Facebook, could be a good idea to attract more managers (fill-up all the leagues), possible donors and so on :)
cheers
D
Sly, I’ve got a couple of young goalies you might find of use :)
we have a total of 11 nations so preliminaries cannot be applied would be. The WC should be done every year.
First round: The 6 teams ranked worst in the world will play a qualification round with two legs (back and forth)
The 3 winners will join the top 5 for Round 2. The 3 losers will play each other on neutral grounds for future ranking purposes :)
Second Round: 2 groups of 4. the first 2 of each group will play in the semis
Semifinals and Ranking matches for the 4 that didn’t qualify from Group stage: B3 vs A3, B4 vs A4
Final and match for 3d place
At the end the ranking for next WC would be:
1. Winner
2. Runner up
3. Winner of 3d place
4. Loser
5. Winner of B3 vs A3
6 Loser
7. Winner of B4 vs A4
8. Loser
9. Winner of Qualification Losers
10. 2 place QL
11. 3d place QL
For the first season we can use the club continental rankings.
Also, a National Manager should be hired for 2 seasons with the option of 1 season extension every time he wins the WC. The National Board, however will set goals such as: “finish 6th”
If the NM fails to meet the goal in his first tenure, then he is out. If he meets goals or even improves on them can complete the contract, but extension will be granted only in case the WC is won. :)
Regarding the selection of players, we can make it in 3 stages so that the system, country managers, and the national managers can make the pics:
Stage 1: The system generates 10 goalies+25 defenders (D, DA, DM) + 25 mids (MD, M, MA) + 12 strikers (AM, AD, A) = 72 Players
Stage 2: Country managers vote the best 37 from the system’s 72: 5 G +12 D + 12 M + 8 S
Stage 3: National manager makes the final selection of 24 out of the managers’ 37:
3 Goalies
8 Defenders
8 Midfielders
5 Strikers
Selection of versatile players: Players such as DA, MD, MA will be selected according to the way they play in their team of origin. If he is listed as DA he will be selected as a defender, if he is listed as an AD, he will be selected as a striker. However, the national manger should have the right to switch the position of the player, only after he has mdae the final selection of 24.
1.Keeping+Speed+Dribble are the most important ones.
2.Passing
3.Control+Head
4.I have seen too many Brazilian soap operas or Portuguese is an easy language ;)

No offense taken mate :)
I’m not complaining but rather making observations (I hope so). I am trying to point out a trend here, that no matter the sides involved, no matter their respective strengths, no matter how the game develops, there’s always scoring in my goal, whether the opposition makes 10 or 40 shots against me.
Regarding the strength of Strasbourg, the overall average pts per starting player in each team (10 outfielders in accordance with tactics used by each team) my team is actually ranked 6th best right now:
Brest ********616.7
Monac0******609.3
Rennes******602.4
Psg********601.5
Niort*******598.4
Strasb******597.5
This indicator is far from valuable because it doesn’t take the goalie into account, nor does it measures strength per sector (defense, midfield, offense), nor does it takes into consideration the individual importance (a star striker can make lots of difference)
But it does show the strength of the group overall and according to me my team is underachieving :( (yet, don’t fire the manager) lol
