nice suggestions. looking forward.

two remarks:
what’ll the logic for the decreasing of older players. currently it’s ~1 point each skill down per season for all >30 year olds. with the new additions a some players shouldn’t decrease until they are ~33/34 yo. or just in speed.

also there could be an extra skill like cleverness, leadership or routine that boosts by many league or international matches and winning trophies (and the age). That’s an important addition to big teams in RL. Captaincy could be directly related to this …

it should relate to the real importance of the skills for the type of player. if you have a formula for the defenders quality, adapt this to the value calculation.

on the other hand the value is partly subjective and depends on what the manager needs. e.g. in reality a defender with superb tackling and speed but avarage in the others can be very usefull for certain tactic/formation. other coaches prefer an allrounder who’s a good average in all skills.

here’s what you’re looking for: http://www.rubysoccer.com/forums/6/topics/623

btw: yes, it got harder to sell players. i guess it has to do with the increased number of excellent young players.

option #4.
the difference from rank 1 to 8 is too small, better: 1st = 80 and 8th= 73 base skill. Not to apply when we have more countries.
I agree, there are bit too much very good (young) players nowadays.

i doubt the calculation behind the players value. Because i have often players with similiar skills and big differences in their valuation.

my current example:
Sabiniano Huertas (tac-hea: 597)
D C 21
63 100 86 79 91 86 75 80 53
$46,062,787

vs.

Faouzi Allais (tac-hea: 594)
D L 22
46 100 80 72 90 86 86 80 49
$105,556,345

Similiar skills and even better sum of skills (keep, aggression left aside). and position flexibility for Huertas … but Allais is valued twice as much.

Barcelona’s (fast ticker) manager recently left on turn 47 the team. on turn 49 a new manager was accepted again. who recognized it or had a chance to apply ?!

Two things i’d like to suggest:
– a list of the clubs whose managers just left in the “news” section (“apply for a job”)
– a minimum of 3 turns, better 6 turns (after a manager left) for putting in applications

i would prefer a real date. but if the change means a big investment of programming time, put it on the bottom of the enhancement list.

Hehe, wondered why no one asked before. To be honest, personally i’m not very keen on (winning) the national cups, so i left them out. But sure, i can add it to the list above.

currently international matches are close to the end of the seasons. I think it’s a disadvantage for clubs from countries with 20 teams in the league. They play 4/2 more league games than e.g. portugal/germany during their international appearances.

i suggest to start earlier with the international matches, maybe 3 turn after the national cup final …
So all would have the same handicaps.

- spendings for new players (last 2 seasons)
- avg age of the player (squad or last league match)

dont have a real “pro” for swap deals yet.
but if it’s allowed i suggest a “tool” that is supervised by an official. So each application for a arranged deal would be given to Gabriel or an other determined person (after both parties have confirmed the conditions of the deal). If the conditions are plausible the deal gets complete.

a con: the power of the free market will be weakened. not every player will be on the market before he become transfered.

i like the idea of taking the money out of the AI teams. because it’s annoying to see those teams building dthe biggest stadiums. this should be a privilege – to good, real managed, teams!

players attitude & team morale should be top on list.

double post by me (http://www.rubysoccer.com/forums/1/topics/638):
in the end finance, players/team improvement and league position are the most important facts. if you lose with 2 or 3 goals difference should be that important, if you still fullfil the expectations. But sure if your team loses by 4 or more goals board (in RL) isn’t happy aswell, so this take should effect again.
