So does this mean that I must play the same 11 players, and have the same 3 substitutes, for every single game?
My best striker has bad morale, but I have kept him mostly out of my league games and played him in every cup game to ensure his has high stamina.
To ensure good morale, do I just pick 14 players total, and play them to death now?
The match counting for morale effects started once I announced it in the forums, the history of matches until then doesn’t matter. From now the history will matter and the player will always consider the percentage of the last x matches that he has played to determine its morale level. Whenever I said in the overview that morale is reset (when the player join another team or when he goes out of critical for example), this counter is reset as well.
I think for teams playing multiple competitions that have to naturally rotate their players due to stamina the morale system will work well. Those who usually don’t have to rotate due to stamina will end up having to do it due to the negative effect on morale if you don’t.
Most of my players had low stamina -55.
I put young players to play and let the first team rest to recover stamina, they played alot games(34).
While first team are resting to regain stamina, their morale went down, even they played to many games.
It seems the morale is checked every tick and not looking howmany games they already played.
So after 34+ games, they rest a while and lose morale.
Changing lineup more frequenlty is desired with this new morale system.
While I prefer to change lineup/players when they perform bad or have low stamina 90+-.
I’m not sure but I had the same problem, also with Naested, when Dimitri mentioned it a month ago.
Bummer, I will investigate but I’m expecting it is going to be hard to find what the issue is.
@Sniff I agree, this needs to be modelled more realistically in the future
@Fabio the bad morale after not playing just one match only happens for older players and it’s more an alert that such players are the more demanding ones. You’ll see that if you play him next match he will be neutral again
@Dimitri after the trial period when critical morale players stop renewing contracts and are transfer listed for more reasonable prices
In that case Davison all your players would be earning £0! ;)
Negotiations are fine, if your unsure about wages then bump it up and save the risk of him leaving.
“18) Player limit for teams will be increased to 40”
When will this be introduced?
match rating shit but still demands increase of wages… yeh that makes sense …. you get payed for the work you put in….
I know but I already couldn’t find them before they were withdrawn. So I guess it was a bug.
Go to Players, next to where you see Statistics you can now see he Morale
I thought it was a bit harsh to start with – some players that played last league match (before the system was on) are already with Bad morale because they did not play an international match in which I used the reserves. 1 match and they are complaining already? They are part of my first squad!
I got an alert with bad morale player, but i don´t know who he is… i don´t see any view with that info, can you help?
bq/ If we are talking about an experienced player I agree, but if we are talking about a young player that is yet to prove his worth he would be more than happy to have played 35 minutes.
I think personally that there needs to be a difference between playing 35 minutes as a sub and starting the game and being taken off before half time. I am assuming that this is not modelled at the present. I think that morale would improve if you were a young player that came on in the 55th minute and player for 35 minutes, but I still think that if you started the game and played 35 minutes and then the manager took you off 10 minutes before half time your morale would go down.
Players are basically asking for market value wages if I understand the system correctly. I don’t see what there is to complain about. Offer the player more than their last contract (no one wants to be paid less as they get more experienced). Then when the player comes back with their higher demands, offer them that if you want to keep them. As I said before it’s now about player power, rather than managers trying to save money on wages, as this doesn’t happen in the real football world any more.
The trial period for the player morale system has just started! Please take some time to read the overview of this feature on this topic and also what is going to be different during the trial period. We already have some good suggestions to make the system more realistic in the future and these are all noted, but what is posted there is pretty much how the system is going to work to begin with, except of course for any adjustments that prove to be necessary after the trial period.
How long this trial will last will depend on the feedback we receive, we just want to make sure everyone is comfortable with it and has experienced all the different situations they can face due to player morale. If you just ignore morale for now because you won’t actually lose players you may lose the chance to learn how to better manage it when the trial ends. It will also help us understand how easy/hard it is in practice to keep everyone’s morale out of critical, to bring a player with critical morale back to neutral, to have your main players always with good morale, etc.
Cheers
Well, you cannot divine it, it’s all about an informed guess based on what other players earn :-)
I think this deserves a poll!
sorry but I still don’t understand how I can divine how much he wants….
It is not about percentage increase, it is about how much you offer compared to how much he wants. Let’s say your player wanted 20.000 and his profile tells him to reject offers that are lower than 75% of what he wants. He would have cancelled negotiations in this scenario.
I still think this change is being tough on managers just because nobody really paid any attention before on how much they paid for different players.
player with a wage of 12.100, I offer 14.000 (+15%), he refused and don’t want to negotiate any more.
Thanks Fabio, I like you suggestions, I’ll add this to the existing task to enhance the system in the future. We’ll release the morale system without it so we can have it working earlier and if it proves to be too harsh during the trial period we can tweak it down a little bit…as long as it doesn’t become too easy ;-)
I know that the Sunderland guy is very aggressive, but some years ago, he posted a very nice suggestion: tits in the newspaper …
Another feature from CM that I liked was setting expectations – you hired the player saying whether he would be your star, an important player, or just to add depth to the squad. The more important the role, the more likely you were to hire the player – but you’d better fulfill the promise, otherwise the player would get upset soon.
The point here is: I have some players in my team that are far from being as important as other ones (even some old ones), and that should be OK, as long as this was agreed upon beforehand. I don’t want to rebuild all my reserve squad every year because they do not play enough, and they don’t want to look for a job every year…
Btw, most people prefer sitting on the bench of a great team than playing every match for an OK one…how is club ranking going to play a role here?
Instead of the player with critical morale being instantly TLed, I’d suggest the system used in the old Championship Manager:
- Unsatisfied player ASKS to be Transfer Listed
- If he is not TLed, or TLed by an unreasonable amount, he becomes so annoying that his behavior disrupts the whole locker room – i.e., the whole team morale goes down
- The player does not renew his contract (as point 11 above)
My point is: it is very unrealistic for a player to be automatically TLed. However, it is realistic for the player to so much pressure to the point that is better not to have him in the squad. Yet, you still have more than only 3 ticks to get his morale back
PS: one alternative would be TLing the player only at season end, rather than automatically at any time. This is even more realistic…
In your case it is not a bug, that team now have a friendly with Inter on turn 116, therefore the invitation he sent you has been withdrawn.
I think it depends on the player. If we are talking about an experienced player I agree, but if we are talking about a young player that is yet to prove his worth he would be more than happy to have played 35 minutes. I’ll consider this a future enhancement to the system to make the minimum number of minutes played variable based on some parameters.
My personal approach is to look how much similar players are earning and offer something similar. Don’t forget to consider stars when looking for similar players. The main goals of the system are:
1) Stop the easy negotiation pattern most people used (me included) where the manager offers a salary the player would never accept so he/she can see how much the player really wants when the initial offer is rejected. Negotiations are now something you need to give a little more thought to.
2) Give some personal touch to players with the different profiles
3) Introduce a mechanism by which managers can lose a player to improve the transfer market
and how I can know if and how raise offer? I’ve to sign all contract and all renew? I don’t understand the scope of this system, all players asked more after my first offer and after some negotiations they have had their bigger new contract, why so complicated now?
1) Player morale will initially only be affected by official match participation. A player must have played a reasonable amount of minutes in a match (not 100% sure but I think this is around 35 minutes) to consider he participated in that match. If a player was not eligible to a match due to suspension or injury he will not have any impacts in his morale for not playing.
If I got taken off after 35 minutes in a game my morale would go down, not stay the same.
The same problem here Gabriel. I received 2 friendly requests but couldn’t find them in the invitations screen.
Mediumticker turn 93:
Næstved has invited us for a friendly match.
Go to your invitations page in order to accept or reject it.
Mediumticker turn 95:
Næstved has withdrawn their friendly invitation for turn 116
Let’s do it! Looking forward to the new changes
