Davison and Paradokus, that’s exactly what we are planning to do. Instead of waste our time reversing transfers and players fired we will make the board more strict when it is obvious the player shouldn’t leave the team, unless the team is low on money.
(en) Direct confrontation was not adopted yet. In fact, each country has a different criteria, so we generalized for all using goals difference, and if they’re still tied, goals scored. The only exception is Brazil where the first criterion is number of victories.
Don’t stop dreaming DaMaGo ;)
Just a side note, it would be much easier if this World Cup replaced existing continental competitions, but I know this is not what the majority wants…let’s see.
People have been asking how they can help adding new countries to the game, and some have already helped. I’ve decided to create this topic to explain in detail all we need before adding a new country so those who want to help have a guideline. Keep in mind that from now on all leagues will have 20 teams, no matter how many teams they have in real life. You can provide as many leagues as you want for a given country, as long as they all have 20 teams. This is the current continent priority: South America, Europe, North America, others. This is what we need:
1) Country name
2) League(s) name. E.g.: Série A and Série B / Premiership and Divison 1 / Super Lig and Ligi A
3) National cup name. E.g.: Copa do Brasil / DFB Pokal / FA Cup
4) Teams names, 20 per division
5) Teams logos. If you could send logos with transparency, in png format with dimensions 25×25 (or anything x 25 like 18×25, 20×25, 23×25) we would really appreciate. If you don’t know how to transform the logos you find to this format you can send in whatever format you have and we’ll adjust it.
6) A list of common first names for this new country (it can be a simple text file with one name per line)
7) A list of common surnames for this new country (same format as above)
Send it to admins at rubysoccer dot com. The more information the better. If you can’t provide all 7 items in the list make sure you send at least items 1 to 5. There is no guarantee your country will be added in the following season, but we guarantee it will be added at some point.
These are the countries we already have either in the game or almost ready to go: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Colombia, England, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Italy, France, Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, Greece, Sweden, Switzerland and Mexico.
Before you start working make sure to check and post in this topic which country you will be researching, so that 2 people don’t end up sending info for the same country.
Thank you!
I think no countries for next season, I’m busy working in the match engine now. I still have data for Switzerland, Sweden and Colombia. It doesn’t mean you cannot help! I will create an official topic to make it clear how people can help with new countries.
I’m pretty sure it can :)
Please guys, let’s keep the topic discussion around the topic’s subject. As Dhimitri said “we all want this game to develop and progress. Point at the problems is the best way to start improving it”.
Cheers!
Yesterday I’ve started working on the match engine again. I’ve created action profiles for each position to try and fix this behavior.
Nice suggestions :)
This was changed a while back to foster loans by allowing teams to plan, as DaMaGo mentioned. In the old way the team who loaned the player could suddenly “lose” the loaned player, without notice. In the new way the team who is buying is able to decide whether or not buy a loaned player, knowing he will be back only when the loan period ends.
Our host rebooted our machine around the tick time so I ran it manually about 30 minutes past the regular time.
We have been seeing a number higher than what we should have of unexpected match results. By unexpected I mean a match where the better team or at least the team who played better looking at the stats is not the winner. Our top priority now is to finish the tweaks I started last year in order to make the match engine more realistic.
Not yet, it will probably take a while :(
These players have been playing friendlies at the end of last season so they didn’t have time to recover (stamina is not reset on season start). That should explain it.
Oh really? I thought they did :)
Unfortunately we don’t include the champion in next year’s competition, even though we understand this would make sense and we’ll probably change that. Sorry, for now the only way to qualify is doing well in the league :(
All set.
They are both late (don’t know why)…adjusting it now.
Only 2, I didn’t have enough time to prepare for more.
New countries will be added to FastTicker during the season tick. I expect everything to run smoothly, but if anything bad happens don’t panic, I will take a look as soon as I am available, which will probably take a few hours.
It does happen. For cups, you lose points when eliminated sooner than expected or when you qualify below expected in your group; similarly, you earn points when you eliminate a stronger opponent or when you finish above expected in your group. For the leagues, as soon as the league ends, you lose points for finishing below expected and earn points for finishing above expected.
Adjustments are being made to some leagues in order to achieve our goal of 20 teams and 3 relegation / promotion spots per league. Argentina and Brazil already have 20 teams per league so it was just a matter of reducing the relegation / promotion spots from 4 to 3 (except for Brazil on FastTicker because the season has already ended and a human managed team wouldn’t be promoted, which is unfair). Germany, Netherlands and Russia had their relegation spots reduced so that the first dvision can have 20 teams in the next season, new teams will be added to their second divisions in the future to make it 20. Other countries remain the same for now.
Yes, it is possible, we are just postponing this kind of enhancement for non human managed teams. By adding new clubs we will end up with lots of teams in this situation, so changes like that will become more important.
Dennis is correct, you must have at least 14 players that are:
- not youth
- not loan listed
- not transfer listed
- not loaned
From those 14, at least 1 goalkeeper.
I can tell the one that is most likely…unless you guys want me to keep the surprise :)
Oh, this is because Sidney Monteiro was put back on his original team, the way he was fired/let go was considered cheat.
@Simon: just received it, thanks!
@Martins: yeah, we’ll figure that out ;)
@Davison: interesting suggestion, haven’t though about it before!
No country is ready yet, but I’ll try to add at least one from Europe and one from South America.
It is the wage and the contract length, but the higher wage should always get the player according to the current rules.
If anybody wants to provide us with data and logos for USA and Mexico teams we can give it a try, for sure :)
