@Dhimitri: sorry, mate, but your maths suck ;)
first, if a team is rewarded each player by ‘+3’ their skills rise minimum ~3% (when all players have 97 in each skill) and maximum ~300% (when all players have 1 pt in each skill). so it depends on the quality of the team. The top teams with some 97+ players get rewarded with less than 3% (a striker with 100 in shooting don’t get a 103-shooter, but stays 100, right Gabriel/Danilo?)
The opposite (decrease by ‘-3’) is also true.

Just an example: Let’s take a team A with players 87 average and a team B with 87 average.
a) home reward modus – team A: 87+3=90 and team B=87
b) away decrease modus – team A: 87 and team B=87-3=84
—> i both cases the difference is 3 points! surprise …
—> if you wanna compare the percentage difference (guest/home), a= 87/90=96,66% ; b=84/87=96,55%

Ergo: so we are talking about a difference of ~0,1% for the two modi (not 20-40%). So i say it doesnt make a big difference which modus to use.

But it’s more realistic to decrease the guest team. The home player can’t get better than their maximum ability (see skills list). And top teams cant benefit so much from the gaining (see above).

i agree the goalies should get special treatment.

regarding ‘Home Players Skills’: i agree, reduce the visiting players skills.
.
playing home brings out the best of a player, 100% of his skill values (not more). playing away can reduce the values (-5%), could differ within the players – e.g. the factor “experience” could have a positive influence on the player skills in away matches (just minus 1-3%).

for some leagues (e.g. germany, netherlands) all CL competitors have to play the qualification now. What’s the reason for that?

IMO there is not much against using a reserve team. I use reserve team in national cup and a 2nd best team in league during the CL (but no youths!). But i always try to avoid to give the fight for the best spots a spin. So I line-up an equally strong formation against the top ~7-8 teams, so no one is really hurt.
.
If you wanna start rather in UEFA/CS than in CL/Lib, you should start losing points in (earlier) matches which are not so decisive for the final table of the league!
.
It’s just “sportsmanship” that should lead everybodys actions, not just what’s written and what’s been monitored.

Meninao (Hilton), i guess i understand your point correctly, but i’m afraid i’m absolutely not with you!
It’s just not within the un/written rules.
Though you talk about it very frankly: Santo Andre bought your match, that’s illegal and should be punished IMO.

each of the 4 groups should consist of 2 european and 2 south american … while i’m writing this i wonder why the proportion is 1:1 (8:8 teams) – there are 7 european leagues and 4 south american (~2:1) … or better: the proportion should depend on how strong the two continental asssociations are – or is this dynamic ratio too complex to integrate ?!

I’m for option 2b.
.
Whats the attraction, when 50% or more of the league plays international. Champions league without any national champion? I dont like that idea much – thats UEFA cup or a new cup/league e.g. the “Cesario-Castilho-cup” ;-)
.
Then establish a 1st world league (CL+LA), a 2nd world league (UEFA+CS) and the 3rd world league (places 6-9 in national leagues) … this declination would make more sense, though i still like option 2b best!

a- big teams dont make too much money. income for the best teams is IMO still too low (merch, sponsors, tv, winning bonus etc.). you only make big money with selling players. and that’s not an option for “big” teams only.
.
b- big teams dont get all the best players. it’s pretty easy for small teams to get youths from free transfer) i see alot of them unpicked for many turns on the list). if they dont improve right, fire them, and hire new ones ! that’s not rocket science …

so the squad of the national would be picked automatically by the system. Or would the national team manager be able to select the players manually from all the database?

first i liked it, but for me it’s too turbulent with all the colors. But let’s keep it: I would flag the nationalities on a secondary tab like “contracts”.
On the skills page i just would love to see the flag (on the right hand side) for players who are current players for a national team. Therefore we need national teams ;)

how about World cup instead of the CL/LB in the schedule (2nd half of season) AND CL/UEFA/etc. in the first half of the season – winners/top 8 of each competition qualify for world cup.

@Sly/Alban: that’s not the right way to discuss the need of a new schedule. first, i havent made this suggestion to weaken other teams. 2nd, i’m not responsible for the lack of competion in some leagues. So the need of a new schedule shouldnt be discussed on personal matters or current problems of balanced leagues.
.
IMO there are just Spain and Brazil with alot of high quality teams. in the other leagues you just need to build up an extraordinary squad to compete the top 2. I would love to see more competion in my league and in some other aswell. Therefore we need more newbies with alot of effort on the game.
.
And then we hopefully dont have to discuss if this is a Lex “Hertha/Napoli/B.Aires” or not ;P
