I think a youth can always be hired by the team, no matter how much money the team have. You’re right about free players, you can’t hire them if you are low on money or negative. I like your ideia to allow free players to be hired with a low limited wage in all cases.

Glad to hear that the economy seems more regulated now, we’ll do our best to keep it this way :-)

New source of income: sponsorship. The amount of money received from sponsors every 3 turns is defined based on the team’s recent performance. As the performance history started being recorded when the manager ranking was added it is not complete yet, which means that the sponsor value will be lower than it should for now, specially on MediumTicker. The stadium size will limit the amount of money received from sponsors, but it will probably only affect teams with a great performance.

You’re right JD, we are already aware of this bug, apparently it happens only when you’re creating or deleting a strategy for a formation other than the Default one. We’ll check it out.

You’re not the only one in this situation Ricardo, I’m facing the same problem on FastTicker. I agree that millionaire teams are something from the past, we’ll finally be able to add other sources of income to the game.

Sponsorship and tv rights are definitely in our plans, not sure about prizes, but probably yes. We’ve been postponing new sources of money in the game due to some milionare teams, but we need to analyze the situation again and do some work in the economy side.

Sounds good to me, my ideia was to give a penalty like a left player playing in the right, should work. It will probably help everybody in selling defenders and midfielders :-D

Once I suggested giving penalties to players playing in the wrong position (an attacker playing in the midfield or defense, as you mentioned). Some agreed, some disagreed and I abandoned the ideia, even though it still makes sense to me.

I think some people (like me) are having a hard time keeping their finance situation in a reasonable level. In my case it happened cause I pay a couple high wages and have a big squad. Economy is a hard issue but we’ll do our best to balance it whenever problems come.

In addition to that I have some ideias about player training that may improve the players quality and make the market more interesting after we add coaches to the game. We’ll see.

I think the reasons for that are:

-the players tend to go towards the goal instead of using the field sides
-there is a lack in the sense of marking, “free” players don’t mark other “free” players, only the one with the ball, if he is near
-no crosses or headers
-too many players in a zone is probably making it easier to take the ball from the opponent

We’ll work in the match replay and make it available for everybody before changing the match engine. I’m pretty sure we’ll have good suggestion from everybody based on what you guys will be able to see :-D

Added the board screen. It will be empty until next season’s start, afterwards it will contain the board expectations for each competition your team will be playing during the season. These expectations may be a little unrealistic in some cases, for better or worse, but we will try to improve that later on. This screen will contain more information and features in the future.

The rule for hiring is: you can’t have more than 30 players, considering the players you own (loaned out or not) plus the players you’ve loaned in.

The rule for selling is: you can’t have less than 1 goalkeeper or less than 14 players, considering only the players you own and are not loaned out.

JD spotted a bug anyway, you should not receive this message when the player is already transfer listed. Will fix it as soon as possible.

Here are the answers :-)

1) There is no influence of the results sequence in the next match performance, but there will be in the future, and that will be properly announced;

2) There is no morale attribute, but we will have, and it may not be hidden;

3) I agree there are too many ties, at least I’m having many this season on MediumTicker, specially 0×0. The match replay should help identifying the reason for that as well.

I have to disagree at least in one point Carlos, improving the squad did brought me better results. After finishing middle in table a few seasons ago I’ve hired a 93 attacker, a 94 defender and my keeper improved to something around 90. I’ve finished in 3rd two seasons in a row, won the Copa Sudamericana and now I’m second in the league. :-)

Anyway, I have the feeling that making the match replay available for everybody, even with the not so mature match simulation we have, would make it easier for you guys to give us suggestions on how to improve that. I’ll talk to Danilo about this, we must work on a way to better present this replay before making it available.

Maybe the best thing to do is always prevent same country matches unless it is inevitable, like having 3 teams from the same country on the semi-finals for instance.

Well, that sometimes happen in real life Diogo, weaker teams win against stronger teams. There are 2 reasons for that on RubySoccer: luck or a weaker team with a good strategy against the stronger team strategy. Now if it is happening very often against different weaker teams we may need to do something about it. The way we determine the result is by simulating the match, so all the statistics you see in the report did happened in the simulation. We evolved it to a point where the results seemed to make sense and the statistics not too far from reality, but we know that this simulation is far from being ideal, we are aware there is plenty of work to do on it.

Point some match reports for us to analyze if you wish, Diogo.

The problem with Marseille is that its manager has abandoned the team and was fired for inactivity. Before that happened lots of contracts were not renewed, so the team ended up with just a few players. We’ve recently made some changes regarding the minimum number of players a team can have, so it should not happen again. If this new rule was in place some contracts would have been renewed automatically and Marseille would certainly have a keeper.

CPU teams are weaker by nature. Of course we don’t want them to be total losers, but a well managed team tends to improve faster than CPU teams, with a small number of exceptions. Having lots of CPU teams in international competitions definitely makes it harder for a country to reach a better position in the rankings, but to be honest that’s how I think it should work, unless we give CPU teams “access” to hidden information, like players potential, manager offers values, but we don’t do that, CPU teams try to improve their squads slowly, without playing crazy wages. One thing that we must do is make CPU teams play friedlies with their worst players. That will definitely help them improve those players and possibly use them in their first squad as they improve.

So, we have plans to improve CPU teams a little, but getting more human managers to France will still be the best way to have a better performance on the coutries ranking. :-)
