@resirui: thanks for the example, I’ll definitely look into it and speak to Luqueño’s manager about the matter.
@Malaga: don’t give up on us just yet! You’ve raised some good points here, some of which we already plan to address.
1. The salary limitations: unfortunately this is a necessary evil to prevent wannabe cheaters from trying to destroy clubs by offering too high salaries on purpose. That said, the player’s decision on which club to join will definitely be reviewed. I admit the game logic is not smart enough to evaluate how good a player is when compared to others in the bidding clubs, and that may be affecting the result here.
2. Inconsistant match play: interesting to hear that. The match simulation is far from ideal, we all know that, but I think it’s something that people get used to and work their strategies into it in time. It has a randomness factor in it, but clearly there are some consistencies there, otherwise we wouldn’t have some managers that are consistent in winning titles as we have now. Hopefully I can point some that are not bending the rules as you mentioned and are still doing great.
3. Transfer rules: as I said above I’ll look into it and also try to improve CPU teams buying behavior. While it’s great to have them active in the market we don’t want managers to try and abuse their stupidity for huge gains.
What the the heck is this? There is a player on the market who did already play for me. Now, 10 years later, he appears to be interesting to me. Trying to enter the negotiation:
Cannot hire player whose previous club is yours.
Damn it. Practical examples:
Götze, Sahin, Kagawa at BvB, Nilmar (Alex, Ceara, …) at Inter. and so on …
This is crazy.

Example:
http://rubysoccer.com/game/player_history?info_record=747303
Thats horse-hockey. I just bought Danny Millet from Sportevo Luqueno as an example. I only bought him to show what is going on.
As you may know, Sportivo has been a top club for some time, and as the game rules operate differently for them its no wonder.
I was a long time SoccerSim player and was overjoyed when I found this game, but now I will be leaving.
Despite great performance in Spain and Intl cups, my team has suffered steady atrophy and it is impossible to grow given certain teams being able to spend so differently from what my team is allowed.
My reasons:
1. The salary limitations. Some small clubs and the perrenial giants have been consistantly outbidding me on salary when I offer max. Often others can triple the max salary I can offer and I carry 70 mil reserve. With an old keeper, I have tried to buy a replacement for four years. I have watched as teams with three and four better goalies than the target player sign him and I cant up my offer. BS. Many other positions I have had similar problems. Great players that would start on my club – which has been a hairs breath from winning in CL a couple times – go and sit on the bench at Malaga or Liqueno or a small number of others. Thats utter nonesense.
2. Inconsistant match play. Variability is good, but in the last two or three seasons its like rolling dice. Im losing to chump squads and my lineups become nearly useless after Ive used the same one three or four times.
3. Transfer rules. Onviously, like the example above, some of the top clubs are hacking or working around the rules that prevent player moning and it has resulted in high prices for decent players and no realism in transfer and squad growth.
I can handle variability, I dont like games that are too easy, but this game has devolved to a strategy-less mess where a few players who can bypass the rules somehow are greatly advantaged.
I applaud the work and concept behind the game, its very hard to develope a game like this with long timelines that remains balanced, unfortuneatly this one isnt working even as well as it did four game seasons ago….
Do you have some practical example? I suppose the only way a human-managed team would be able to sell a player before 72 turns from the hire date is if the player goes to critical status…
Yup
Actually most teams (those without a human manager) can (and so) sell within a few turns, I believe. But I suppose you mean human managed teams?
How come some teams can sell a player before 72 turns?
Hum…makes sense!
The team players statistics page now shows data for players that haven’t played any matches in the season. Of course their numbers will all be 0, but this will give you the whole picture of your squad and make it easier to identify those players you’re not using yet.
The goal takes into account the team quality AND competition performance in the past season. So I’m guessing you fared better in Libertadores than in the National Cup when compared to the other Paraguayan clubs.
Competition Expectation
Division Profesional Qualify for Libertadores
Copa del Paraguay Reach the semi-finals
International Reach the final
I don’t get how the goal in Libertadores can be higher than in the national cup (considering there are >4 Paraguayan teams in Libertadores)…
Thanks :D
Sure! Why not? :-D
Just going to add a suggestion on this post cause it is similar, I was thinking at the start of every season you could get a mail with what you board expects , avoid relegation etc.
I know it’s under the board area but it would be useful if you got it to your inbox on the first tick
I’ll contact you in-game. Thanks in advance!
Ok Gabriel, I´d be happy to.
What do you need?
Thanks for reporting Rui. This must be an attempted automated translation that our translation tooling did, it’s been a while since someone update the Portuguese translation, we’ve only been doing the Brazilian Portuguese one. I’ll try to update this one next time I work with translations, but I will not attempt to do the whole translation myself as I’m sure some words or expressions would be different.
Would you have some spare time to help us with this? :-D
Hi there,
In the “olheiros” function when looking for new players, I think the maximum age filter has a wrong label of “Salário Máximo”.
By the way, thanks for the update on the match report, very nice to have the goal scorers :)
Both suggestions have been incorporated in our enhancements list. Thanks guys!
Hi Alexander,
You’re not alone here. I Agree, the coach report in columns in the player screen could make it much easier to pick and choose players. Especially if you’d like to sort on some specifics.
Talking about extra columns…
Another thing what could be nice is to add the award section to the statistics/ stats page as an extra column after MoM. Now there’s no overview for all players.

How should we update club names to match real life first divisions?
44% – Relegate the last placed clubs in bottom divisions of each country to an invisible division replacing them by new clubs
36% – Continue renaming clubs as you’ve been doing
20% – Do not update, leave them as is in RubySoccer
It looks like we have some fun work to do creating “invisible” divisions and adding new clubs to the game. We will most likely create a couple follow up polls to gather your opinion on what should happen to a manager that is relegated to an invisible division and what should happen to the players of relegated clubs.
Match Report messages now include the goal scorers. Thanks Rui Reis for the suggestion! In addition to that we’ve also added some column titles to the team matches screen. Not that you guys didn’t know what each column was, but it’s always nice to have things clearly labeled, especially for new players.
Yes i think a condensed view in the team players screen would help me more – but i could be the only one… for me it would make it easier in picking the team in some instances.
We’ll have new ways of using them, that’s for sure! We just need to be careful to not give big advantages otherwise the game may become pay-to-win, which we don’t want. But I don’t think the things you suggested would do that, so I’ll make sure they’re added to our list.
Thanks!
Do you feel it would be much easier to see the big picture than what you have in the Coaching screen? There you can sort and filter in a way that would almost match what you need, except you’d have each report in rows instead of columns.
For example:
- for one ruby manager can put player on the transfer list at anytime (without waiting 72 ticks),
- for one ruby manager can choose position of your next youth player in the academy (G, D, M or A),
- and many more! ;)
Regards,
Luke
Hi guys,
Would it be possible to add a new tab under team players like “traits” and “cards” with the coaching information regarding each player listed in columns?
The text could be shortened and could look something like this:
Evolution Profile: as in coaching report
Evolution Stage: a lot 87-92, some 89-91, close 90-91
Full Potential: young, midway or 30’s
Next Step: uncertain, training, matches, abroad, higher ranked, national squad, MoM….
I think it would help me with the big picture.
Kind regards
Alexander
When each league finishes the best players in terms of average rating will be given the Team of the Season award. In order to be eligible for the award a player must have played in at least half of the rounds in a given league and he can get the award even if he’s not playing for that league anymore by the end of the season. The Team of the Season can be seen in a new tab added to the league screens.
Hahahaha
Addicted? Who, me? I can quit whenever I want…I just don’t want to….
