Ok, I see. But what is the purpose of this movement ? Or just to spread the players a bit ? It is more real, I think, maybe now they will find “weaker places” in the opponents defense ?

Just so i’m 100% sure on this; If i have an AR. I play him A – RC – 0. No penalties on his stats right? So what if i then alter his individual tactics to move left when team has the ball, he then becomes A – C – 0. Does he then become penalised? Thanks for any help

There is no penalty on those situations. The best player is selected considering only the position (side is ignored) and a formula based on all skills, not only the main skills. So a player with a worse passing skill can still be considered a better midfielder if he has better secondaries.

Previously the players moved in a fixed line. For instance, a center player moved back and forth in the central field line (except when trying to tackle an opponent or get a lost ball). Now the same central player would not be “stuck” in the central line, he can move a little bit to the left or right. The same way a left player for instance can be even closer to left field line or a little bit more closer to the center.

One of my players got 2 yellows and was not eligible to play a league match. In the mean time i couldn’t log in and change the formation.
Then the System selected the worst player (skill wise, position wise and stamina wise) available in the squad, and consequently i lost the game.

The player substituted was from the Midfield LC position. i had 1 free player from L (passing 87), 1 young player from LR position ( passing 81 ), then another on LC (better passing than the player selected). But the player selected was from RC position ( passing 76 ). The only good skill this young player had was his speed(89).

Is this a kind of penalty or how does the system calculate a best player for any position???

No need to switch, the reason for switching is just better organize your players in the formations page.

Gabriel, you said DA can play attack or defence without penalties? But you meen you have to switch around from AD to DA to avoid a penalty right? Otherwise I’ve been switching it around for nothing. So again….Can I play DA in attack without him getting a penalty, or do I have to switch him to AD in order for him to play in attack and not get -3 penalty on all stats?

Thanks, thorpedo!
Free role sounds good, we need to figure out a good way to implement it. I’ll add this enhancement to our list right away!

Olá Victor,
Não existe esse tipo de penalização, às vezes simplesmente os resultados não aparecem ou os adversários se adaptam. Aliás parabéns por levar meu Mengão ao título :D

Now players have a more realistic movement in the match engine, I suggest you can add a free role possibility for the individual tactics. A player doesn’t only move forward and backwards but also in the fields around him. For example a MC 0 player can move to LC -1 till +1; C -1 and +1; RC -1 till +1. What do you think?

Keep the great work btw!

Enhanced player movement during match. Instead of running in a fixed line from goal to goal players now have more freedom, making their moves more realistic. They’re still lacking a marking sense, but that will be improved in the future.

It’s hard to explain a single match Vaughn. The opponent keeper may be good, the players who shot in your team may not be the ones with best shooting skill, the shots might have been long shots which are harder to score. What I can tell you is that the match engine is currently being improved and we hope these apparently unfair results don’t happen so often ;)

Hey,

Last match i dominated the whole field/stats and still we failed to win. I know sometimes u can’t score, unlucky etc..but it’s getting to often.

A small explaination would be appriciated on the follow match:
http://www.rubysoccer.com/game/match_report/302322

4-5-1 formation 4-4-2
36% possession 64%
4 shots 23
3 shots on target 20
66% accurrate passes 53%
31% effective tackles 67%
1 corners 4
0 offsides 6
36 fouls 8

end score: 0-0

Its a good idea, but I don’t think that who is buying the player would maintain the loan.
In a rel life, teams are punished with fees for break the contract.
But thank you, the game is going better everyday!

Let me clarify things a little bit for you ;)
physio – you got it right
trainer (coaching) – players improve more frequently
scout – allows you to perform player searches based on some criteria (check the magnifier icon); the higher the level, more frequently you can perform searches
DA = AD = can play both as defender or attacker, without penalties
MD = DM = can play both as a defender or midfielder…as you can see an MD is not necessarily a defensive midfielder for instance…you can use him even as an offensive midfielder
subs – all players are potential subs, you can plan subs in the strategies “tab” at the formation page
GM tools – I can send you an email about them, I’m pretty sure you have a lot to add given you SS/MS experience
Cheers!

Ok, i am a lazy git, there is probibly 100 posts on the subject matters already…….

Just want to understand a few of the concepts in the game and dont want to confuse their function or the way they act or perform with how the soccersim game engine worked.

physio – higher ranking, faster healing i guess. is there any other benefits?

trainer – so whats the benefits here, what do you get for a really high rank? Does your youth academy limit increase? (lol cant help but relate the Qs the SS)

scout – is there ANY benefit?

D
DA
DM
M
MA
A

player positions – does the duel position – i.e. MA or DM work the same as in SS ;-) (simple yes or no hehe)

can i have a list of subs for sitting on the bench so i can bring youth players or promising lads on for 10 minutes or so at the end of a game?

Not sure if a private email to myslef can happen (obviously the next bit is not for general knowledge)- but i am also intrested in the “GM tools” – functions, what it shows etc etc etc etc etc. Would be intresting to see what route you have went down and what leasons if any could be learnt from some of the poorer functions on the SS GM tools. (oh and also the site manager tools as well if they are different) lmao – i dont ask for much :-)

Best wishes

Stephen Woodhead

On December 28 Gabriel told us the total money in Fastticker was 4.8 Billion. (http://rubysoccer.com/forums/1/topics/791)

I wonder what about today ? =) I don’t belive my transfers were ~15% of the total money =)))

@Alban: hopefully we’ll be able to reduce the number of shots after the match engine enhancements and make the keepers weaker ;)
@Blakos: you’re welcome!

There are no contract break fees anymore, we used to have them when there were a “call player back” and a “return player” actions. What we could do is keep the player loaned even when he is sold.

All Brazilian clubs from Serie A are full of cash. People turn down 100M+ bids on their players and ask for more money ! =))

At the moment I’ve spent on last transfers 90+90+150+140 = 470M, but also received a lot of money for sold players…100+68+53+68 etc. So I had to sell a lot of players to acquire 4 stars.

But I have enough cash to buy a couple more.

I think the problem is that AI clubs were saving large cash and when many new managers joined the game their teams were rather rich.

damago, i disagree on a whole, but your suggestion could be applicable (or logical) only if a manager was sacked. and even in that case may be he would be paid a compensation on his salary. nothing else. Something similar to the compensation package we pay when we fire a player. but then since we don’t receive any salaries and we are just volunteering for the clubs ;), i am not sure how we could implement that. and i don’t think that is something necessary… although it would not be a high priority job from my side.

and as for your other suggestions, i don’t think they are not suitable for the game as a whole. do you think they are relistic?? does that happen in real life??

everything is improving in the game. But like i posted it, the most unreal thing for me is to be always in the same team after you improved it. in real live managers get fired or quit to sign with other club. If the manager performance had been good, he will get to a similar team or better one, and sometimes he will go back to the same team.
Here not a change, just a few.
Alban Yazyk thinks it is fair and point Dave Spurrier, who won everything and he is one of the best managers if not the best. Then he went to a new league and started all over again. He won in Holland, but it will take him many season to be one of the best again….. not fair, he should get something in exchange to be a great manager, money for the new club, choose 3 players to go with him to the new team…. i dont know something.
Because this, also i like to say than a new manager with a lot of luck to get one top team, it is not realistic or fair….. not job experience not change to get hired to a top team….
This might be very hard to improve… but i would like to see manager in different leagues with new teams, but today i cant see managers like Berlin, Atletico, America Rn… and so many signing with another team, and that to me is so unfair….
Anyway thanks to developers to always try to make this better….
