Another statistic: here is the ranking of teams in real life, based on results:
1 Spain 1883
2 Netherlands 1659
3 Brazil 1524
4 Germany 1464
5 Argentina 1288
6 Uruguay 1152
7 England 1125
8 Portugal 1062
9 Egypt 1053
10 Chile 988
I suspect the rankings on Fastticker (based on player averages) are much different: Brazil is probably first (weakest player 88 average), Netherlands much lower (strongest player 87 average). As Dutchman I must object of course ;)
FastTicker teams with most players in national squads:
Tigre 10
Real Sporting de Gijón 8
Eintracht Frankfurt 6
Fenerbahçe 5
Liverpool 5
MediumTicker teams with most players in national squads:
Nancy 6
Villarreal 6
Inter 5
Bayer Leverkusen 5
Peñarol 5
San Martin Tucuman 5
Boca Juniors 5
Rangers de Talca 5
Hertha BSC Berlin 5
Rennes 5
Wait a minute, I think there is a good reason why national teams have mostly old players. Remember we have changed the player evolution system several seasons ago? It is now making a difference and top players are harder to find. The old players are from the previous generation, where they were more likely to become stars.
Let’s see what happens when all these old fellows retire.
You are welcome :-)
Here is the average on FastTicker:
Argentina 29.4783
Brazil 31.5652
Chile 31.9565
England 33.9130
France 29.4783
Germany 31.8696
Greece 32.3913
Italy 33.7391
Netherlands 33.1739
Paraguay 31.0000
Portugal 29.6522
Russia 29.4348
Spain 33.4783
Turkey 31.8261
Uruguay 32.6522
You may have a point here, players could age harder…or maybe automatic national team selection should take in consideration that old players are more likely to get injured and apply some kind of “penalty” when comparing them to the younger ones.
I don’t know how closely you want to have Ruby follow real life… where players peak around 27 or so. I do like the way the game flows now. But the older players probably should “age” harder.
Love the National team concept! Thanks for adding it!!!

I have created a new topic to discuss national teams:
http://www.rubysoccer.com/forums/1/topics/1699
This is a big feature so I thought it would be better to discuss it here instead of using the Improvements Discussions topic.
As a reply to the last comment there I would say I agree there are too many old players in the national teams, but that’s just because these are usually 100% developed, which makes them better. In the future we can have national squads for under-23 or under-20 players.
Thanks for reporting, Alexander. It must have something to do with the new filters for national teams matches. I’ll look into it.
Cheers.
I love the national team concept. Is it just me, or are there way too many old guys on the national teams?
Hi guys,
When trying to filter matches by type you are returned to team info screen instead.
Kind regards
Alexander
It is not fully designed so I won’t spoil it ;-)
We’ll give enough time for managers to apply once it is released.
National Teams finaly :D What more can you guys tell us about manager selection for them? I want to apply for Portugal :D
Oh come on! If everybody goes way, they win and Rubysoccer loses. I don’t know if they are cheaters or not, but does anyone of those managers won some competition? If no, they are very bad cheaters. eheheheh, cheating and nevertheless, they can’t win….so must losers.
Come on Ilian, think it better, rubysoccer need’s player like you or me…just fair play
The statistics computer screen has been through some adjustments (still planing a couple other), and now allows you to save your presets.
there should be just a limit how much over est value you can sell a player
thats all that needs to happen
I think I had been under 10% for a while at that time, though now I got it up to 13% thanks to better results (no losses in my last 8 league games).
Happy 3rd anniversary, RubySoccers!
National squads are out there. If you go to your countries league page you’ll see a National Squad tab which will take you to the countries’ national squad page. There is also a new National Squad competitions page under the Leagues menu.
For now national squads cannot be managed, but it will be possible soon. All the rules involving the national squad management will be announced when it’s ready.
There will be 3 competitions for national squads, starting next season: European Cup, Copa America and the World Cup! Players won’t lose stamina when playing for the national squad, but will gain some valuable experience points. Besides these competitions, national squads will play a fixed number of friendlies against each other, these friendlies are scheduled on season start.
Currently you’re not informed if you have any player who is part of a national squad, but we are working on it as well. No official club matches will happen at the same turn as national squad matches, so you don’t need to worry about your players being unavailable for being lined up in a national squad match.
Well, I guess that’s all for now, more exciting stuff around national squads will be unveiled soon.
Cheers!
Heheheh…this message is supposed to be sent whenever your performance goes from 10% or more to less than 10%, no matter what your previous decent result was…I know, it sounds really dumb in your example :D
-To the creators of Ruby Soccer, thanks! you guys created a good game.
-To my friends, thanks, I had a good time playing with you again.
-To the cheaters who got away and are destroying the game for honest managers (the cheaters are: Vinicius Ferreira, Felipe Maróstica, Félix Cardoso, Caio Oliveira, Flavio Machado, and more). These guys got away with everything. I suppose paying outragious sums for a 36 year old GK with 89 keeping skill is of course not cheating. Paying 40 mil for a 37 year old isnt either. Transfering outragious ammounts between themselves ONLY doesnt make it obvious that they are cheating.
I am leaving this game, because I see no point in trying to play an honest game and compete with my friends when I am surrounded by cheaters who get away with everything. I too have friends in the game, but I don’t cheat. We dont transfer stupid players between each other. We play HONEST.
RubySoccer is a really cool game, it’s largely based on SoccerSim. However; RubySoccer has one major flaw, the fact that unlike SoccerSim, it does not take cheaters serious. Ultimately, this game wont go anywhere unless it’s cleaned up. I refused to donate to this game for that reason. I donated $10 a month for ManagerSim. I’m off to other ventures and good luck to RubySoccer, hopefully you’ll get more aggressive and get rid of the cheats because it can bring you down, but than again, maybe you dont care. Either way, good luck!
Me, Danilo and the GMs have investigated this case and discussed a lot. We also listened to what Felipe had to say. Our conclusion is that there is no cheating on his part so far. Everybody is asking high prices (myself included) and sometimes we get lucky to sell our players, or are able to get good deals from friends or maybe new managers buy them for not having a deep knowledge or experience in the game.
I appreciate the help from everybody on this thread, I think we should have gone through this earlier, as soon as Ilian pointed that out. The sooner we clarify things the better. We’ll try not to make the same mistake again.
Cheers.
Yes I lost and had a red card, so I tried something else. Now with 3-5-2 I suddenly won 11-0 against a decent team. Next tick I got this message:
From: The Board
Subject: Bad Performance
You’d better start getting better results
11-0 is not enough I guess :P
The format above can fit in the current 48 weeks season. A 52 weeks seasons can be introduced to give teams more room to breath.
The above Cups format is well spread throughout the season.
It gives the best team a tough test of endurance. Having a strong eleven won’t be enough anymore. To make it through all 67 games you basically need 2 strong teams, hence a lot of change is expected in team structures, trade volume etc,
The combination of the later stages between Continental Cups and CWC (example: team plays first the CC Quarter finals, then jumps to CWC round of 1/8, then to CC semis) is also intentional to raise the impact such competitions will have on each other, in addition to the ongoing domestic league.
Most definitely teams will have to prioritize and strongly so :)
I think the continental competition should still be played to their full despite the addition of CWC. Like Dirk said, group stages should also serve as qualifications for the CWC, but only for the 1st and 2nd place in the groups (8 best teams from CL and 8 best from Libertadores).
The CWC should be played in home/away, elimination rounds. All in all the maximum number of games a team can play will grow from 61 (38 domestic league + 9 domestic Cup + 13 Continental cup including the qualification round + 1 CWC) to 67 games (38 DL + 9 DC +13 CL + 7 CWC)
the Cups spread out format through out the season should be smth like belore:
W1/2 DC R1
W3 rest
W4/5 DC R2
W6 rest
W7/8 DC R3
W9 rest
W10/11 DC R4 Quarterfinals

The user has been blocked from accessing the game and contacted via email. If he ever replies with his defense the subject will be discussed among the game masters.
Thanks for all of you guys who contributed with this investigation. I understand you want us to act faster on potential cheaters, but we need to be careful to avoid making mistakes.
Cheers.
@Dirk: that sounds good and easier to implement than our previous ideas. After the anniversary feature and some restrictions for cheaters I may start focusing on that (I know, it should be done by now, but it is never too late).

And are more more and more…;; this is my last season in rubysoccer
As Damago want the Club World Cup so badly, I figured out a new concept. I think it’s only a small change in the system.
This new concept is maybe not the big CWC plan you all had in mind when talking about CWC but it’s a start.
Here what I had in mind:
Play the CL/ Libertadores like it is now till after the groupphase.
- Then the first of each group goes to the CWC, meaning 4 teams of the CL and 4 of the Libertadores. These 8 teams can play a knock out system (5 matches) or 2 groups of 4 teams and the winners of both groups play the final. That’s up to you.
- The 2nd and 3th of the groupphase in the CL (or Libertadores) play the second round in CL (or Libertadores) like it is nowadays for the 1st and 2nd. So only the 4th of each group is out of international competition.
Copa SA and EL don’t change.
So we have a CWC with 8 teams in stead of 2 and the 1st in the CL group is more valuable.
