It is important to notice that the new strategies are always applied on a position of the field (for events, if you leave the “from” fields empty the game will assume that you want to apply the strategy to the “victim” of the event). During the match, the game engine will try to fetch the player that is on the position you pointed in your strategy. If no player is found, the strategy is skipped. In future, I plan to add a “validation” button on the tab, just to tip the managers about what strategies are probably useless (will not find any player during the match and will be skipped).
Well , lets hear your feedback :)

cheers

Empowered managers with the new strategies tab (on formation screen). This feature adds A LOT of flexibility to your tactics, with conditioned (time-&-OR-result/event) dynamic changes. These include position and player substitutions. Please note that this is the initial design for that screen, a kick off for your evaluation and feedback. In other words, I am planning to add improvements and other formation stuff very soon.
It is never too much to repeat that your feedback is very important at this point.

I am sure you will have a good surprise very soon. Also, we have fixed a very important bug recently, which we think will really improve the match stats.

cheers!

well, that is the problem with the odds: the 1% can happen! :) also, a lot of factors can contribute for things like that. anyway, we are planning major improvements on the match simulation. we hope to get this done as soon as possible, but there are millions of things to add and we are only 2 devs :(. Hope you guys keep helping us with ideas and feedback!

cheers!

We now have google adsense. Lets see if that will help us pay our server. We will study the best position for the ads, but for now they are on the bottom of the screen ( which I think it is the less painful place to start).

the checkbox is now an image. will see if i can find a better free icon out there. if someone has a suggestion (the best size would be larger or equal than 16×16), please contact me.

Still implementing the strategies screen. But another gift in the meanwhile: new checkbox L&F and much faster invert selection mail action.

cheers!

mostly is because you are trying to buy a player from a friend that access the internet thru the same network you do. We had to make that against our rules for a greater good, sorry.

Well, what we can do is create a competition only for donators but without any influence on the rest of the game (of course that their players would gain experience, but that can be achieved playing friendlies too…). Let me put it in this way: a group of friendlies that would have a non-history-registered champion (well, only registered in the forums :)).

What do you guys think? I dont see that as an advantage, its more like a “thank you” club with some matches only for fun. Enough said, lets hear your opinion on the subject.

cheers!

A loan clause would solve this. Something to help control the agreement between the two managers. Will discuss with Gabriel.

I am still preparing our formations screen to receive the new “advanced” stuff. But, in the meanwhile, I have a few bonuses for you guys:

- Rotated the field: left/right player positions are now easily identified (this will be useful in a near future ;) )
- A little more speed to drag and drop.
- Reviewed the IE/Firefox alignment, mainly around the field area. Everybody should have a better experience now.

You must be kidding us… I entered there to check our competition and could see 2 things:

1) the game is using icons that were developed by us (mail, formations, world icon…)
2) the developer did not ask our permission to do that

Well, anyway, I prefer rubysoccer ;). Good luck for the other dev, though! I will see if i can email him but, if you have the chance, can you please communicate that our permission would be nice before using our stuff there?

cheers!

ps: also tell the guy that he used the “full” mailbox icon for the situation where you have no mail…

Yes, you will have a compensation in that case, Ricardo. Gabriel coded that part and its very late now (time to sleep), so I will check tomorrow how does that work and tell you in this topic.

You cannot, if the owner of that player is someone that uses the same network/computer you use.

We need volunteers to translate RS to the languages in the bottom of this post. It would be nice if we could get patient partners, as rubysoccer is BETA and will need continued work. Those languages were statistically chosen, considering the countries with more hits on rubysoccer.

I will get in touch with those who are willing to help with some instructions by email, soon.

1. Brazilian Portuguese (maybe admins – me and Gabriel – will do this one)
2. Portuguese from Portugal
3. Spanish

ps: we will have more languages in future.
ps1: by the way, you guys can already select you language preference in the “User Settings” link (accessible from Dimensions page)

The team setup screen will receive a new tab. In the process, I am implementing a new screen look/feel and some ideas. An example is that now you can know what is your selected formation only by looking at the “current” mark on “My Formations” box. I have made this available a little sooner so you guys can get used to the new design. Also, I have updated our javascript framework. Mostly to inherit misc bugfixes.

some of you may be wondering what is the problem. well, the problem is RAM. we are trying to use apache to help us serve some stuff but it seems that we dont have enough memory to do that (at least not if we are running a big tick). that is why things go slow after a while.

we will keep trying to fit our env in our restrictions, but at least everything is working great now (just some slowness sometimes). we hope to solve everything with a few adjustments.

cheers!
