We have just completed a substantial technical upgrade of our entire stack. If you find any issues, please let us know.
Our traditional massive tech upgrade has been applied to the server. While this ensures we always have a modern stack, it may also impact some of the screens. Please let us know if you see anything broken.
- Our new logo is on the frontpage;
- Heatmaps are now more useful. I still plan to do a bit more to them;
- Managers online are ordered by last activity (not sure why we didn’t do this before).
What version of firefox are you using exactly, by the way?
Hmm, ok, I will look into it again. I wish I could reproduce this myself…
Northstar: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
Its a window often used for software testing, because it “start things from scratch”. It also doesn’t leave anything behind (or it shouldn’t)
I’ve made a change to our SSL, let’s see if this improves. Please let me know how it goes, guys (try your best to break it)
What timezone are you in, by the way ?
Ok, this is definitely related to ssl then. Looks like a that time, your firefox can’t verify the authenticity of our certificate for some reason. Normally verifying the authenticity involves being able to connect to the validating authority. I will do a bit of investigating, but for now just use chrome as a workaround please.
If you use chrome, try opening an incognito window and accessing the site through it.
This is bizarre, I wonder if there’s anyone else affected.
RubySoccer is now named Goal FC (Goal Football Club). We have a new website, the technology stack received a massive upgrade, the whole site is now encrypted, etc.
This is an important move for the game’s future, but bear with us while we complete the re-branding (there’s still lots of references to the old name and logo across the whole site!).
As always, enjoy!
Version 0.01 EARLY BETA of player heatmaps is available. You can access them from the match replay section.
A significant change was applied to our infrastructure. Please let us know if you see any issues. We’ve noticed performance is a little better, do you guys agree? Voice your opinion!
Our match replay controls were not displaying, and our table sorting pictures (arrows) were not appearing. These bugs have now been fixed.
should be back to normal now. please let us know if not.

An upgrade has been applied to RubySoccer. This shouldn’t change any functionality, but behind the scenes the changes were extensive. If you see any issues, please report them to us.
If someone sends you a link to a player or team (and you’re not logged in), you will now go straight to it – instead of having to enter the right dimension first.
Our logo and default colour scheme has been changed temporarily. This is our way of paying respects to the victims of the Chapecoense plane accident.
Thanks to Nelson, who provided us the modified logo.
Some of you were experiencing a blank screen when trying to buy rubies. This has been fixed now.
You should now be able to buy rubies. Please let us know if there are any issues.
should be fine now
You will be able to change the names of your stadiums for 1 ruby (each change) – as soon as paypal fixes our account :). Except by Bronson, who already has rubies due to the forum challenge.
It is the link to change the player’s name. I may have forgotten to put a tooltip that explains it once you hover over it… I will do that tomorrow.

i’ve added looking into this to our list, but we have to make it work for everyone before adding it back. unfortunately this is not at the top of our priorities, so it will take a while…
We actually removed it, because it doesn’t work well on all mobile devices. The list should be enough to get to any desired country.
Now it is :)
A prototype for the mobile version of the formations screen has been deployed.
You can now tap an empty field position, and that will present you with a small wheel with four options – representing the possible playing positions of the player you would like to add to that field position.
Upon selecting a playing position from the wheel, a dialog will pop-up listing the players you have available for the selected position. The player you select on that dialog will be added to the field position which originated the event.
A player can also be removed from the field by tapping it and answering “OK” to the challenge question that will pop-up.
Please let us know if you find any bugs or have any suggestions. This is a prototype!
Bronson spoke about it first! Will give you 5 rubies, Bronson. Just to mention one of the things people will be able to do with rubies: it will cost 1 ruby to change a player’s name to a name that has to be unique within the players which are alive.
Congrats! I will credit the rubies once I am on my laptop :)
