Despite the random factor there are some teams that win more than others. I would recommend trying to get some tips from the top managers or even try to watch their match replays and understand which player skills they value most. I usually do the latter.

so I just got a youth keeper. He looks like he’ll be alright, though is obviously Class E, so my question is:
How do I best develop him so that he reaches his potential as efficiently as possible?
Obviously there is no way I can play him in games in the Premier League.
Nor would anyone loan for him, so no point hoping someone would loan for him and play him in any games.
Is all I can do is put Coaching Investments to 10?
So what do I do to better position my team to win?
Changes released earlier this week:
1) You can now create Reminders to be automatically sent to you in a future turn. They can be accessed from your Mail screen in the top right corner sub-menu
2) Fixed bug on coach report result where minimum predicted main skill could exceed 100
3) Scout reports are not deleted once you buy a player, they will still be accessible from the player info screen until they expire.

Should be easy…we can probably show a sequential number for each of your searches and include it in such messages.

Is it possible to tell which scout report did not match? It’s hard to tell if you’re not online every turn. I want to know when I have to change the parameters because they are too aggressive. I don’t want to make it inactive every time.
Hmmm…that should only happen in a mobile interface or if your browser window is not maximised in a desktop/laptop. In any case I agree it is not nice and we should have the login option front and center in the home page!

why is it that when I initially browse to goalfc.net, that the page I am greeted by is inconsistent?
Often, I need to:
- click on the drop down menu on the right
- scroll down a bit
- then click on ok to submit my username/password that is saved
Like, too much work man. Can we just have the username/password/submit button on the top or something? 1 mouse click, not all the extra mentioned above for no good reason.
Just make the interface simple to log in.

There is probably a random factor in the game, or even a factor ‘form’. Because I have the same…
Friendlies against NPCs would be alright, we just need to add some logic to make them accept only in out of season dates. National teams sound interesting too!
Not so sure about forcing friendlies in pairs to ensure the away matches are accepted by the invitee. One way to work around this is first sending just the invitation to play at your home and then, when that match is close enough and can’t be cancelled, you send the invitation for your away match. I know, a bit cumbersome…I’ll think about what you said :-D

You know, i still have no idea how to win a match in this game.
Over a season, my squad often gets high enough to make cup matches. Ao i mostly win. Sometimes my exact same line up and rules make me lose 0-3 at home to far inferior npc teams.
I have zero ability to understand why? Why does a squad overall go great, but fail so miserably. No consistency.
How do i make good decisions and understand when 4x defenders is advantageous over 3 or 5?

I still find it rude when a team, accepts a friendly invitation at their home, but ignores a corresponding invitation for away.
I guess the money is no different, but I still feel disrespected and ripped off.
Can we get either:
- the ability to request friendlies with NPC teams and NATIONAL teams
- submit a friendly invitation request, and it automatically creates a home and away game, and the requester can select which dates they are requesting. Thus the requestee can see both dates and decide if they want to accept or not, and do NOT get the option to delete 1 date, but can ONLY delete both.
I got screwed in 2 games where I lost at home 0-6 in total, missed out on getting to Champions League next season and getting into position to win Euro League.
Rather than swear heavily, started looking at what I can do to fix up stuff I see.
Well, I did swear heavily too.
If only Spartak Moscow had that sort of money :-)
Who knows, if I switch teams by the end of the season I may have enough money to afford him.
Errr…yeah, it is a known limitation of this page at the moment :-/
I’ve tried to fix it in the past in a nice way, maybe I’ll do it in an ugly way and allow it to be ordered like we allow the Position field.
Notes is not good, I plan to leave the scout report available if you had it before buying. It will still get automatically deleted after 3 seasons (that’s what I think is the expiration today).
Price lowered to 50M, which imo is a bargain for a gold star with such good stats…

the Player -> Traits page has a small bug. This page does not allow you to organise the players list by ‘Class’.
It is the 3rd main reason to look at this page, so would be nice to view players by their class.

If I buy a player I already have a scout report on, can you please not delete it?
So frustrating. Especially as the coach report is not capable of providing the information on the secondary skills (assuming my scout report includes that).
Maybe just dump that info in the Notes at time of purchase?
I haven’t managed national teams for a while so I don’t feel your pain. That said, I can definitely understand how things like average ratings and recent stats would help in the selection, but traits would be mostly useless for national squads, with few exceptions of course.
p.s.: lately you have been giving us lots of ideas and providing important feedback, thanks for that :-)
We are definitely missing out on lots of great retired player statistics! I’ve started doing something about months ago but abandoned the idea to start something else (don’t remember what exactly but I’m pretty sure it was economy related).

I manager a mid level ranked country National squad. When I replace players, would be handy to have more information onscreen to be able to make better decisions:
- country rank the player plays in
- Average Rating
- main statistics from the current/previous year:
– Goals
– Tackles
– Assists
- Traits, including the stupid ones
I seem to be going backwards and forwards, and find it inefficient to work out who to move into the team. The process is:
- find the worst guy in a position
- click replace
- select a new guy
- try to find him in the players screen
- check the average rating, see how bad it is
- open up his stats
- work out his country rank
- decide if his stats are good enough
- work out if the player traits are shitty
and repeat the entire process a bunch of times
Just thinking the replace player list screen could add some extra information to make it more efficient.

With another Liverpool player in the World Team of the Season, and now that he is retiring, I would love to have link to a Liverpool Hall of Fame Page.
Will be great to go somewhere and see the great Liverpool players of the past, and their statistics, awards, history, etc.
I guess other teams can have their own Hall of Fame too. I suppose…
