we’re not going to have absolutely everything on mobile, but I think it will help to at least have the most used functionality, so people can manage these bits and pieces on their phones…
when you go to your players, what kind of stuff you would normally be looking after? I suppose availability for the next match would be the main thing, in your case.
I play on my iPhone and it’s not too bad. It would be great if it was easier.
Normally when I log on I go to mail, then my players and also check out the division table. If you could add a drop down like menu it would make life easier, I could see more on the screen then.
Hope this makes sense
Im aware of that, it was a concious effort – specially when it comes to the formations screen (drag and drop took some work).
Tablets will keep using the normal website.
This is about mobile phones only. Right now the site is hard to use on an iPhone for example.
That!
But actually Rubysoccer already works very well on the iPad with Safari.
Hey guys, if we were to make rubysoccer available as a mobile website as well, what functionalities would you like to see in it? Divide your suggestions in day one vs “the long run” if you can, please…
For our “day one”, I thought I would start simple, and base our content on our most accessed pages. In other words:
I’m almost done with the above, and I think it would be useful to release it before adding anything else.
Currently working on allowing the use of money to buy investment points (previously called board points) on season start. In order for this to make sense we’ll reduce the overall amount of investment points distributed, meaning that you won’t be able to get to level 10 in all areas without spending some money, even if you win all competitions. This will be the first counter measure we are going to try against inflation, let’s see how it goes.
Done
fast ticker stuck at 88% and once again im going away for the weekend… put holiday mode for medium was unable to for fast tick… ;/ thanks in advance again gabriel
Crap I missed this :/
Yago Arango, 20 yr A C, future star, for only 5M.
Scouting (level 10) says he will be 88 avg:
Skill Current Value Potential Value
Keeping 31 31
Tackle 77 88
Passing 71 83
Shooting 85 90
Speed 79 86
Dribble 81 85
Control 86 96
Header 77 86
I absolutely love these suggestions. Player stats were were always in our radar and , as you pointed our, we already have those statistics (except for assists) in the match report, but they are not all collated as part of the player or team profile. We also don’t have a clear separation on whether goals are scored from penalty kicks, free kicks, etc.
Now, player awards…they are not useless at all! Of course some managers will probably say they don’t really care and don’t need this for their analysis, and they are probably right, but having them in adds a new depth to the player profile that is very positive.
Thanks Fabio, I’ll add these to our feature list.
It did and luckily this time we have identified the root cause. The problem is related to encoding and happens when a new player is created with a name containing a non-English character such as á or í. I have temporarily removed some names I found with these characters, but until we do a proper fix to allow these any remaining names like that in our list could cause another tick error.
I’ve registered too, also waiting for my account to be approved and an email with my login and password. Can’t wait to play this great game again!
I like the assists option thrown in, would also be good to have player awards like golden boot, player of the year could also be another! Even Bal On Dor or however it’s spelt
I think it got stuck again
A couple of suggestions that could make the game more interesting:
PLAYER STATS
There could be some basic stats on player performance. We already have some like Goals Scored and Avg. Rating. Suggestions for other useful ones are below. They are all supposedly easy to add, as the necessary data is already captured each match, just not compiled.
- Assists (the most useful one)
- Tackles p/ game
- Fouls committed
- Passes completed (%)
- Shots completed (%)
- Goals from free kicks (penalties, fouls, corners) -> this could be player &/or team stats
PLAYER AWARDS
Some basic individual awards could be given (and registered in the player history). Very useless, but fun (it would be fun to say you hired the player with most assists 2 years in a row in the Bolivian League..). Ideas for awards are:
- Top Goalscorer (per championship)
- Top Assists
- Top Tackles per Game (if played > 15 matches)
- Top GK Saves per Game (if played > 15 matches)
- Team of the Year (top 11) —> based on avg. rate if played > 15 matches. Use a basic tactic (4-4-2, for example). We’d be able to see the top 10 player for each position (like in CM or Managersim)
Let me know what you guys think!
The Wage Limit investment area has been removed. The calculation behind it was serving no real purpose so now the only wage limitation left while negotiating with a specific player is based on the player quality and your current money balance. For now we will have only 6 investment areas, but we plan to add new ones in the future.
I like the idea …
Fixed transfer budget calculations and adjustments for when open transfer proposals exist.
During this week our focus was on better game experience (still in progress) and some small tweaks for the game, such as additional help content (thanks Dimitri), updated dimension description (they were so out-of-date it’s not funny) and in-game message links without the www in the beginning. We still need to update our various non-english translated contents and at the same time pick another relevant feature/change to introduce. My thinking at the moment is in changing the investments behaviour so that teams can use money to buy investment points…some of our managers are getting rich too quickly!
Yep, if we do this it would be with all the restrictions that Samir mentioned: no transactions between your 2 teams, no friendlies between your 2 teams and the teams must be from different continents. I think that’s enough to prevent cheating. Of course if you’re such a good manager that you win Libertadores with one team and Champions League with the other then you will play against yourself in the Club World Cup…but then you deserve it! :-D
Would be nice if you can’t benefit of the other team and only if the teams are in different continents.
cheating ?
Could be fun
Saw the topic and forgot to reply :D
I think if you can make it that people cant use that for benefict of one’s team then ok, would be nice for me too, but probably would leave MT lol
Danilo please send me the file so i can look at it this weekend.
Not many people care to reply in the forums these days so I’ll park it for now and maybe create a poll to revisit this at a later stage.
Fortunately!
Ok thanks for the help
I had been thinking about the same thing actually. Maybe try it out for one season to see how it works out?
