I haven’t been receiving emails from Ruby Soccer for the last few days. I have checked my settings, and I definitely have the “Send real emails for this dimension” option set to “yes”. I’ve checked my spam filtering, both at my ISP and in my email client – I don’t seem to be getting any emails from the game.

Little bug in a match strategie :
I had set a replacement in case of red card with a player which happened in my last game and I had set a "time replacement " with the same player and although this player was already in after a red card , he replace also for the second time a player that was set to go out .
Both strategies are right but if he has entered in the field once, the normal replacement of time should not be possible .

My Team is Norwich City, Medium Ticker, English Premier League.
In the last league game my team played (the first game since setting-up substitution rules) an unknown player was substituted into my team.
I have a substitution rule that says if my team is losing by 1 goal after 80 minues I take off a defender and replace with the “Best Attacker”. In the turn 112 match report the details show that after 80 minutes my defender Gabriel Piñeira was replaced by an attacker called Juan-Pablo Babia. I have no Juan-Pablo Babia in my squad. I have screen shots of my Players list and the Match Report screen:

I Completely agree with Filipe, it seems a very good solution
If it is possible one solution for this kind of problems would be adding the LR, LC, RC and LCR sides. I think it would be more realistic and we would have some more options to change our current squad.

For my team in mediumticker I can live with the situation, but in fastticker it’s not so good.

My team is balanced with 8 R, 8C and 9L.
But when I look to my A-squad it’s not that good.
3 Defenders → ok with some replacements
4 Midfielders → 3x L and 1x R (no single C player)
3 Strikers → 3x L
I’m especially worried about my forwards. 7 forwards in total (2 are loaned) and 2x R, 1x C and 4x L
So I will choose for option 3
Maybe we can’t place our players at the place they had before but then we have some alternatives when a player is injuried or suspended.
It never can be good for everyone but if the sides of the players are well balanced per zone no one can complain.

But know and paying attention to the improvements (L,C,R sides) i cannot agree with the way (randoom, sort, lotery,etc) that was made
Because in that way, many strong teams will turn in weak teams
Why? Just because the lucky?

fixed. dont worry, even if I could not fix before the tick, those tactics would not apply to your games. You could not delete them because they were from another team and another manager :). everything should be ok now.

So I’m not the only one , I feel better lol
I’m having the same problem as Franek has! My strategies simply disapeared and new strategies were created… The worst is that I can not delete some of them. The same error screen occurs to me.

I have 4 tactics that I never set on my screen even when I want to create a new formation (http://rubysoccer.com/game/formation/1409?strategies=true) and I can’t cancel them by clicking the red cross…
When I try to cancel them it’s giving me a strange screen (http://rubysoccer.com/game/formation/1409?strategies=true)
I think I have to play the games of tonight like this unfortunately unless one developper see that very soon :(
Please help asap as those tactics suck ! :p

Edit : I just saw that it is the same link and it’s not showing the weird screen so I explain how it is :
After clicking on the red cross there is all the main team screen where you see all the icons and the name team + my name etc etc which is hiding the strategies that I would like to cancel. But on the left side of the page you can still see the part to make new ones and you can still see the field with players also.
So trying to cancel a strategy is always giving me this strange page hiding those wrong tactics that are still there when I go to the normal page again.
I hope that it was enough clear… :(
Those wrong tactics and wrong page are on both fast and medium games and the strategies that I can’t cancel are the same on all different formations that I had created before or on new ones that I’m trying to create now.

Following my previous post, it’s no surprise that I’m going to pick possibility 3), because IMHO it’s the most fair – or the least penalizing for the ones who had bad luck on their player’s sides.
it was just the formation and tactics page, everything is working fine now, thanks for your very fast replys and fix.
i have set everybody that didnt have a language (that was your case) to english now. please logout/login and let us know if the situation is resolved.

Is that happening in the formation and tactics page only spartacus55? Have you tried changing your language and then setting it back to English?
You’re right about sides being randomly assigned Carlos. All players always had the side attribute, it was hidden before. The only change I’ve made for newly generated players is increasing the odds of a player being C side over L or R, as C players play ok in 3 different positions (LC, C and RC) while L and R play ok in 2 different positions (L and LC or R and RC).
Anyway, I see a few possibilities here, let’s see what the majority prefers:
1) Let things the way they are
2) Postpone the influence of the sides in the match for one more season
3) Try to balance the sides per zone for all teams (not considering players quality)
4) Simply regenerate all sides with the new generation odds I’ve mentioned

About the improvement related to player’s positions/sides… I’d like to express my opinion, and expose my situation too.
Looking at my squad, I see the following distribution:
13 L players
5 C
3 R
Making things worse, especially concerning defense and midfield, my first squad looks like this:
4 defenders, all of them L
4 midfielders (3 L + 1 C)
2 forwards (1 L + 1 R, nothing to worry about here)
This means that I have half season to rebuild almost entirely my squad… I suppose sides were randomly assigned for all the players on the database, but that’s a solution which leads to unfair situations – some managers have well balanced squads, while others will have to sell 1/2 of their squad and replace it.
My opinion is that all teams should have their player’s sides assigned in some way which would assure that every squad has the same balance between right, left and centre players. The way things are right now – and I repeat that I’m assuming that it is 100% random – means that pure luck decides who will have to spend several millions and who won’t have to change a thing, because until today everybody signed players without guessing that one season (or less) later they could be useless.

on the formation and tactics page the language is showing up as portugese even though my settings are set to english.
that was happening due to a last minute change on “to all formations” validation strategies… fixed! thanks for reporting, alexandre!

I was wondering whether or not we should add LR, LC, RC and LCR players, sounds ok to add them so far, let’s see :-)
About balancing home and away matches, we have that on our list, need to find a good way to do that.

For example, i used to put my best defender in the center, and now he is left, the other is right, the other bad player is Center

guys when i go to the new screen, formation strategies, when i try to create a new strategy (pressing create) the screen gets really strange and i cant get the strategie implemented! if you need a screen to see what im talking about just tell me ill imageshack it
could there be players with LR and LCR, all around players? i think it would be nice to find players that could play many positions!

i think that now that you will launch the away home advantage feature, you should create a more intelligent planned fixtures.
one game away, one game home, one game away one game home… perhaps sometimes 2 games home or 2 games away but merely as an exception!
