Create your “reserve” or “friendlies” lineup and save it. Then create a substitution pattern for that lineup. You can make up to 10 subs in each friendly game, so get your young and developing players into the games.
Schedule some friendlies. Rotate the 3 youth goalies in each game. One starts. Replace him after 30 minutes. Then replace that one at 60 minutes. Each keeper will get 30 minutes of playing time. Hopefully, at least one of them will make some good progress. No problem!
Working perfectly now. Thanks!
looking for an attacker……shooting 85+, transfer or loan
willing to pay upto 6million
@ Philipp: 12 seasons? so you’re talking about fastticker? In fastticker I have very good youth players (1x 96; 1x 94;1x 91; 1x 88;…)
But I’m talking about mediumticker (6 seasons). Maybe other teams in Italy have better youth, I don’t know.
Sorry Philipp, I wasn’t clear enough. When the player is generated he already knows his maximum potential. An attakcer for instance may start with 68 in shooting and have 23 points to improve in shooting. That means that he will reach 91 in shooting in the best case. I say in the best case cause a player will improve at most 39 times during his career, so if you are unlucky or have a poor coaching department you may end up with a, let’s say, 80 attacker.
Answering your question directly, no, a player starting with 73 have more chances to reach higher shooting than the one which started with 59.
I know what is wrong. Thanks for reporting, I will fix this asap.
cheers!
That was a bug introduced by a last minute change :(. Anyway, thanks for reporting this, guys! We really depend on you to help us “clear” the game from bugs!
cheers!
When I tried to edit a substitution rule today, I had a bug – I had no option “any” after the option “time” (only if we are ahead, not behind, tie .. etc.)
@Gabriel:
that’s interesting. so every youth player can reach the 100 in each skill (or just the main skill?) – theoretically. a player starting with 59 in shooting has the same chance to recah 100 like a player starting with e.g. 73 in shooting ?
@ smithers & thorpedo:
the highest player level in Berlin has been 90 (1x) so far (12 seasons) – 1x 88 and currently 1 player 86 & improving.
I think I fixed that. Let us know if you can find any other problem.
Cheers!

Find out where the points come from on each season for each team in order to adjust them wouldn’t have been easy Philipp…but you’re right, it would have been more fair :/
Yeah, I’ve just realized that :(
At least the change takes place, even though it’s really painful to reload the page everytime. Let’s see what we can do, finding time to work on weekends is a difficult task…
Thanks for reporting Dave!
The maximum limit is the amount needed to reach 100 in each skill…of course this is very rare :)
I’ll double check the youth generation process to make sure everything is fine guys.
I mean the highest level I achieved with this player after developping.
would have been fair to adjust/re-calculate the points for the seasons before the change was implemented… :/
@ Gabriel:
what’s the maximum a player can improve (in each skill), 20, 25 ??
@ smithers & thorpedo:
do you mean the highest level at the start of a career or the highest skill level you achieved with german/italian players after all their improvement?
when I make a change in the formation screen now, I get an “oops” error. I re-load the page and the change takes effect correctly. This happens for every change I make…
I’m using Firefox 3.0.1
cheers!
The same in Italy (mediumticker) smithers. At least for my team. The best youth I have in this 6 seasons is a 82 Midfielder. :S This is pityful.
THANKS FOR THE answers guy, But if the difference is 3 i wonder what we are doing wrong because the best youth i have seen in Germany is like 70 and in the rest of the world i have seen shooters with 95 :S
Hi guys,
I join to the game yesterday and I am see that exist many likeness with the soccersim,… congratulations for the work!
I liked to know it exists some information about the rules of the game.
And in the last ticks I have some problems with the “Staff Departments”, I have spent a lot of money with the “Downgrade Payback” and “Upgrade Cost”. I don’t understand how it works. There is someone that can explain me how it works.
Regards
Just to let you guys know that there is still more to come on our team setup section! Stay tuned!
Who says you get nothing on our anniversary? I tried to deliver more but I didn’t have enough time, sorry guys! I am planning one more pack of improvements soon. But here is what we have today:
UI
- Better checkbox alignment/appearance
Formation Strategies:
- More generic condition (RedCard/Injury on any player)
- A match action can be specific to a home, away or just apply to all types of matches
- Can edit an existing strategy
- Can create a new strategy using another one as template
Individual Tactics:
- Implemented first draft (will activate those on our match engine very soon)
- Still not too graphical, but already can alter the position of a player during
an offensive / defensive situation
Other
- When accepting a friendly, can already select the wanted formation
Hi there!
I started my career in RubySoccer a few days ago, and today I had my first young player promoted to the main squad :D
The new youth player generated to replace him is a goalkeeper, but unfortunately my youth squad already had two players in this same position, so now half of my young squad are goalkeepers!
Maybe it would be nice to have a “position balance” factor in the youth player creation algorithm, as youth squads play a important role in the game.
Anyway, RubySoccer is getting better and better! Excelent job!
PS: anyone interested in buying a goalkeeper? :D
I think it is very realistic to have Brazil as a top player factory… Indeed!
Cheers…
We have finally decided to not spend more time to improve the look of rubysoccer on internet explorer 6, for the following reasons:
1) IE 6 is an awful browser from the technical perspective and require tunings that no other browser requires
2) IE 6 number of users is dropping daily
3) We understand that about 20% of our users use this browser by choice or by the lack of, but RubySoccer is already usable and bareable on it – and our commitment to guarantee that this continues to be remains
4) With that decision we will be able to use more of our free time on improvements that would impact 100% of our community
I hope our IE 6 users understand and we apologize for any inconvenience. Anyway, the site doesn’t look that uglier in IE6, does it guys ? :)
cheers!
Interesting announcements indeed ;). You will have to wait and see.
cheers!
congratulations to rubysoccer and the administrators, rubysoccer has come a long way and has a bright future….thanks again to the administrators for all the hard effort in keeping the users happy and implementing and improving the game…:)
Congratulations !!! Your job is great and results bring a lot of fun !!!
p.s. interesting announcements ? hehe
