I am guessing but it has to do with the general overall performance variable.
Star players would generate more income on match day/ shirt sales and also add some extra to the match engine calculations, 5-10 percent would be reasonable (or depending on the number of stars).

This topic is really interesting as it can be made really good if one would put some serious thought behind this.
You shouldn’t get too many star players. As I see it there are two main ways to make this interesting:

1. By game itself by calculations, that is a pre-set way of saying player A will become a star if he does A, B, C etc..
2. By in-game manager interaction, the more managers check the player, scout and try to bid, the more interesting the player is.

or it could be mix of both of course.
Just look at what star players (in real life) have gone through and setup a few scenario templates and the more an already great (to be?) player suits the template the more stars he is to receive. That’s how I would do it anyway.

Some really interesting points here fellas….how did Soccersim manage to keep a reasonably sensible grasp on valuations of players and money??? I liked the star scheme on SS too, with star players being worth more and generally better than a player with the same stats but without stars.

Since almost nobody is answering an ingame message, I’ll try it this way. I’m searching for a 92+ defender with decent secondaries and a midfielder with at least 88 average.

I want to pay a fair price and no outrageous prices like some players are transferlisted for.

When you have a player you want to sell send me an ingame message (Malaga)please.

“Can not list” – rule is not enough, but sure it’s a quick fix, not fair one though.
There are some players (specially the young ones) than are not worth much but still can be valuable in 2-3 season then you’ll be forcing people to sell players too cheaply.

or you should impose a cannot list a player higher than his value but to accurately do that the est needs to corrected the current values are retarded lol

Well, that is the thing, what is a player value?
You can not just compute player value with a strict mathematics formula.

Like, for a defender
/100x(max_money_value) + /100*(max_money_value)… and so on for shooting, speed, secondary skills etc..
I think there should be a similar formula but that should not total in more than 1/10 of what current formulas add up to.
THEN you add some added value for the national games, games played in league (different level of competition will give more added value).
Like, if the player is 21-25 and has played 20 champions league games and scored 5 goals that would be the added player value.
It is amazing how youth players you get worth 4M or more in a div 1 club that end up being released on the free transfer.
Who in the world with all senses working would release such an amount of worth free??
My suggestion/logic makes sense, if not, read again, if you still not get it, ask again.

Valuation of players as it’s now, is a joke, and what a bigger joke is not that it’s there and wrong but that people take it for “real” value.
IMHO there has to be a relation between the money in the system available and the price/value of the best/worst players (and the amount of players available of course), if not there is an inflation, and sure that can add some interesting thing to the game but it is only interesting as long as people (managers) are aware of it. For example, since now everyone got so much more money, the building of stadiums should cost a lot more.

I think it would be a safe bet that people are willing to pay the player value for at least two of the three mentioned players.

I think it would be a safe bet that removing a zero from all players value attributes would normalize things.

Player’s staring value is also influenced by inflation, if all players value raised so did new players starting value, now any crappy player have a starting value of 4M, I haven’t checked how much an excelent youth is valued now, things are very unpredictable this days…

Still trying hard to work out the buying cheap players and improving them to be top players formula on here…

But in recent weeks I have had a few youth players, with not brilliant stats low 70-s up to 80s after a few games, but their value is very high …. the stats dont seem to reflect the value..is this because they are potentially very good players and the stats will raise ro go in line with value, or is the computer just playing with me…confused.com

Players are : Danny Abbot, Michael Smith and Ryan Dudley.

how long does it take for a team to accept a loan termination request? I had a guy on loan and forgot to remove him once the changes were made and I need him back.
I sent in my request to terminate the loan as soon as i noticed he got loant but haven’t heard anything back from the CPU team. My keeper is wasting away not even playing friendlies…

Congrats Dimitri on the championship and seb with the last minute wins!
As for my own team i am a little disappointed for not reaching the 2nd place, but somehow i wasn`t able to take 5 points in the last 4 matches..

Next year i hope to improve in all competitions!

Good luck all dutchies!

Yeah I hoped you would both make it, but alas. But the feyenoord-manager wasn’t too disappointed, it was a calculated risk.

And I see you have some good youngsters, not sure if they’re good enough in 2 seasons to compete for the top, but I’m sure they will be one day :)

It was a nice battle this year (S64) even for the last teams. I was a very lucky man with AGOVV, for not going back to the 2nd division ^^. I ’am sorry for stealing it from Feyenoord.

It’s pretty hard to re build a team with a lot of young players ^^, but in 2 years I hope to compete for the 1 first place in Netherlands.
Even with my huge stadium I only have 200 000 – 250 000 tickets at home match’s, so it’s hard for the moment, but with a good winning strike it should go up :)

And good job Dimitri with Psv :D

The top 3 this year was the same as last year, PSV, Groningen and VVV. Henk with De Graafschap debuted with a good 4th place. Unfortunately Feyenoord will have to play a level lower next season after selling their best players, but I think they will be back on the highest level soon. Not sure what to think of Den Bosch: the players are too strong for the Eerste Divisie, but the team doesn’t win enough…

Nice also that more and more human managers are coming to The Netherlands.

Great result Gustavo. Congratulations! But listen to Charles – it is not easy to play three competitions at the same time. Mainly if you play such a competitive league as the French… Good luck next season!

Wow this is very impressive. I think you are like the first team in the history of Rubysoccer to pull of a stunt like this :). Charles has some good tips, you will get get CL next season. Make sure you got enough good players to rotate things around to keep up with the extra amount of games you’ll be getting.

Goodluck!

gratz gustavo!

You’ll need to build your depth before next season if you want to be competitive in both CL and French Div 1 :)

the last thing you want is to get relegated at this point :)

Last season (63) Gueugnon was promoted from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1 in France, this season (64) Gueugnon has won its first Championship!!!, with 1 game left of the season and 5 points ahead of 2nd place , my team went from being Ligue 2 Champion one season to being Ligue 1 Champion the next. It was tough and want to thank Grenoble manager Bruno Couto and Brest manager Guus van Bohemen, there was a tough battle between the 3 managers to reach 1st place the entire season, and I admit that they do have really good teams.

This is my first major title for me, and hope that it’s not the last, next season Gueugnon will be able to compete in CL and I will try to be as competitive as always.

They still prefer to buy or hire players from free transfer, but that may change when I create the different profiles for cpu buying behavior.
