lets wait and see the input from the game masters….
whats with felipe santos getting fired? any reason for that?
maybe this is the wrong thread to start this topic of conversation…
yes that was the name of the old game Steve.
i’m not sure knowing a situation is that big a deal. Worst case, you wait 36 turns and you go to another team…
Don’t you guys think that a team with a bad financial situation will automatically be handicapped and GMs won’t want to sign there.
As it stands, some GMs see 200k in the bank and maybe they tell themselves “ok i’m up for the challenge”
But if you allow users to know if a situation is good or not, that chance will never be there because most GMs might just go for teams with good financial situations…
I agree with filipe, i did not join spain to dominate the entire world… whats the point of a good challenge if everyone comes to spain lol!
i wanted to start fresh, was with auxerre for 35 seasons… it was time…
filipe, one thing i’ve come to the conclusion, the incoming manager will probably destroy your team :P
Player value still gives you an idea what the player is worth… as i said, its not market value but it gives you an idea…
sorry Berhan, i didn’t catch on to your sarcasme… after all tonality is tough to get in forums :)
on that note, @Nimmo: Player value doesn’t really mean you can get that much for that player. It just means that you’re player is worth that much in comparison to other players in the game. Again, it doesn’t mean you can get that much cash, it just means that his ruby worth is 174mil$. As you can see, market value vs player value are 2 different things.
@Davison and Berhan, seriously guys, this little thing you guys have going has to stop. It’s not healthy for either one of you :)
his keeping and speed are low. He’s played almost 300 officials and he’s 24 years old, if he’s done growing, i wouldn’t even say he’s worth the asking price.
Keeping and speed really makes or breaks a keeper in my opinion…
but he’s definitely still worth a look for teams without any good keepers.
Nothing is wrong, but unless scouting is at 10 he can’t use it all the time…
This way, its posted, everyone sees it and voila :)
Couple of good sales at Alaves.
Have a look.
88avr veteran to be had, good primary stats
come one come all :)
He was high waging every single player available on the free transfer list, essentially destroying the market.
gabriel and danilo put mechanisms in place to help mitigate such issues in the future.
I think soon afterwards he left blackpool. But as far as i’m concerned, he’s been good ever since.
that 800 will be spent foolishly i presume. i just hope we dont have another blackpool-type situation on our hands, that would be a shame.
welcome back Danilo!
I wouldn’t call this a dissapointing topic. Sure the name of the topic is dissapointing, but all in all, i would say the community got very invovled and we had a lot of discussion. That, to me, is always a good sign :)
And thats where i think a mix of both has to be done.
Put in place something to slow them down AND to stop them…
I’m not sure if its doable or not, but that would be best in my opinion…
i’m busy trying to figure out how i’m going to beat Rui… i don’t see it happening lol!
back on topic, i think its important to have Danilo or Gabriel weigh in here.
We’ve talked so much about what can be done to improve or whatnot but we haven’t heard from them in a while.
They can give us their 2 cents and we can continue our conversation. they can also shed some light on if some of the suggestions mentionned might be used in the future or not.
ulisses has been with banfield for over a season, you’d really push the current real sporting de gijon out the door and give the team back to him?
i think in philipps case, its much closer and would be more appropriate, but in ulisses case, maybe its too late?
maybe ulisses doesnt want to go back to his old team and is arleady attached to his new team?
speaking of which, i think he’s already doing a great job with banfield. in 1 seasons no less, he was able to finish top 2… very impressive.
On a similar topic though, I think Berhan has a point about putting other mechanisms in place.
Some of which are related to player moral. Back in SS days, too much trading and too many players would affect player moral.
There are definitely other things that can be done to help fair players.
I understand what you’re saying Berhan, unfortunately I also agree with Filipe.
I’d hate to get all the way to the CL or CWC finals only to lose to a team that cheats…
It’s difficult enough to get to the finals, but once there, it would be nice knowing you have a chance to go head to head with another great club knowing they did not cheat.
I think in this case, maybe Davisons suggestion would be best used. A solution best for both worlds…
i agree with davison.
its not a bug, you just answered your own questions :)
until they/we find a way to prevent any cheating going on, I assume this rule will be in place… i don’t think its that bad of a rule.
same rule applied to SS/MS if i recall…
thats true :)
However, i think a zero tolerance should be taken with cheaters. It seems to be this is all we’ve been talking about for the last little while.
If a cheater cheats from a network where several other users are coming from, I think the best way to handle it would be to ban the entire segment.
Yes some managers will be angry they got banned for something they did not do, but i think most would agree that this would be a good way of reducing (greatly) the amount of cheating. Zero tolerance policy (maybe on a case by case basis?)
For example, Manager A cheats from network 10.10.10.1
Three other managers are from that same network.
If Manager A cheats, Manager B, C and D are also banned.
In this manner, you would be taking care of the first manager and possibly his other accounts as well.
A cheater probably only has so many networks they can join from before either giving up playing or actually starting to play nice again…
Is that too harsh? If i refered someone who’s into the game, but has started cheating, it would bother me if my account was banned due to this player cheating. I would take it up with him myself and ask him whats going on and such and such…
Maybe its too drastic, but we are seeing good clean players leaving the game due to cheats, how is this any different? At least in this manner, we are actually getting rid of cheats (as well as some collateral damage)
Maybe users would think twice before referring a friend who cheats…
Sorry Dcaniva, but i don’t think cheaters will dissapear… better game or not, these guys aren’t here to play the game fair, they are here to try and exploit deficiencies in the system… but i agree with everyone else, cheating has to be curtailed somehow…
as i said, having a page where you can see all the transfers being made, i’m pretty sure everyone would be on that list every day and would report and suspicious activities…
in case others don’t know about this wiki site. Not complete but its a start :)

We can’t start basing potential growth vs quality of the opponent. Because at some point, top teams won’t want to play vs weaker teams. Top teams will only play top teams (as was the case in Soccersim) I think the current system pointed out by Ulisses seems the fairest and the one that is equally beneficial to everyone. Easy to understand and use.
I think 11youths is too much…
Agreed with DaMaGo, a “Players recently transfered” list will really help everyone see the flow of the transfers and possible cheats. I think this is one implementation that won’t affect anything in the game except cheaters:) and will bring a lot more to the game itself by allowing everyone to see who is being transfered, at what price, to whom etcetc However, this list should be world wide and not country wide. Seeing ALL players being transfered will allow for greater balance. I think implementing it only country-wide will only be partially beneficial to everyone and its true potential will only be unlocked if everyone world-wide sees this list.
I have to agree with filipe. Introducing a transfer window will prolly make the game more frustrating for new GMs…
As such, it might prevent some cheating, but I assume cheaters will just time their cheating ways with the transfer window…
Considering the amount of transfer that will be going on during these windows, it will be hard to detect cheaters…
I mean, its easy to create an account for a few ticks before a window, then just leaving or quitting right after the window is closed…
IMO I don’t think it will reduce the amount of cheating… maybe it might make the life of our admins more difficult to try and detect cheaters…
Montreal Canadiens! Go Habs GO!
Just to be precise, I am a Canadian of French/Armenian origins. Pretty much all of what Dhimitri said offended me! :P
In all seriousness, Marc please relax man. I asked you to give constructive criticism and you’re taking a “bashing” tone once again. I guess there’s no point beating the topic of your behavior anymore as it seems most have given up on trying to be nice to you.
Like Filipe said, the game is what it is. It’s fine to complain about it if there are things you think should be changed. but expecting the amount of changes you complain about in a small period of time is unrealistic. (even if you have been complaining for a long time, no pun intended on you, i agree some things about this game needs to change) Besides, you always have to take into consideration the big picture. If you change one thing, it might break other things.
I think both Danilo and Gabriel usually have an easier time implementing extra features that won’t affect others. This way we get extra stuff while they are working on longer projects (improvements). We have to be patient with these guys, there’s really no point forcing them into doing anything because in the end this is a free game and it is still in development stage. We don’t want to push the devs away by being pricks and demanding change. Sometimes things need to take their natural path towards maturity. I’m pretty sure that is how SS/MS was built, with time and paying great attention to detail.
For the record, i’m open to ANY change that would be implemented.
Lastly, @Davison, good delivery or not, you sure as heck know how to get people involved in hot topics, it bodes well for the future of RS.
its funny that in turn Brest trusts me. I’ve made a lot of friendships here at Ruby Marc. I regularly exchange emails with many managers. (including you) Sometimes people change their minds, sometimes people can’t make up their minds and other times a series of unfortunate events occur and good deals are removed off the table. You make it sound as tough i’m always at fault. You had the chance to negotiate with my player for over a day and you didn’t close the deal. I sold a few other players in the meantime and decided to remove him off the list. Sorry but it happens sometimes.
Now reply what you think about Gabriels post. You are the most vocal about this game not being up to par, not being realistic, poor scouting, poor this poor that…
If you really want a good game, help out with the Ruby community by posting constructive criticism. I’m sure it’ll make everyones experience a lot funner and most importantly, you’ll get to contribute to how good Ruby can become.

@Gabriel
Is option 2 really an option? This game has been in development for 5+ years now (give or take) and we’ve been working with this engine all this time. Do you really have a structure in place to actually test out option 2?
I’m all up for trying new things, but right now tick times are about 15minutes (which i find is not long at all) and wouldn’t mind seeing longer tick times if it means more detailed game engine (closer to a true football match)
However, I do agree your opinion on option 2 “Even if it takes longer to implement and test I like the idea of rewriting the current engine in a way that allows easier tactical improvements in the future.” If it makes it easier to improve the game in the future, perhaps a longer to implement option is not a bad idea…
