I can’t guarantee I will get to it very fast, as I had other things in mind… For example the new player evolution model, adjustments to the formation screen so it would work on tablets, more achievements, finally invest more time and take the newspaper to a new level, a simplified and limited mobile UI… So much to do and so little time :)
We just finalised our discussions about the changes Gabriel has been working on. It looks like things will be ready soon!
deleted some messages and banned a couple users. this is definetely annoying, we will need to implement some extra precautions to stop those spammers. probably also give our admins a couple extra powers
Most people don’t really access the forum. Even if they do, only very few tend to react to the stuff that is happening. When I played managersim, I would keep playing for 3-5 months, then stop for 2, then come back… Hopefully that is going to be the case with acse: he is just taking some “vacations” :)
Thanks guys! We also think we have to thank you guys, for helping us making this game better.
i was considering that possibility. initially, thought that it would be a bad idea. i will do it, though. it is better than the alternative.
yep, solved for both
The invalid match has been deleted, and now you’re not supposed to be able to accept friendlies in the past…
Nope, it isn’t. But the player development model will change soon. Stay tuned.
- Improved the alignment of screens that show player lists
- Renamed section “Stadium” to “Investments” – i will add more things there
- Removed twitter authentication. It was not working
- Fixed the newspaper (and this is now on my queue of things to improve)
- Numerous other things which u can’t see, but will help us improving/measuring the youth evolution system
- Ruby upgrade to 1.9.3. Gems upgrade to their latest compatible versions (you can’t see this one too). Both are intended as a preparation to a fuure move to Rails 3.2 (we are currently on Rails 3.0.9)
- New functionalities will be marked with a special “New” icon – which will automatically go away 2 months after the functionality was added (see example on the manager info page: “Ranks and Achievements”)
Mostly, this is to show you guys that I am back to active development.
mrebello, agreed.
Berhan, I was not talking about an app. It would be just a simplified mobile interface, with just the most used functionalities. For example, at the moment we know the 3 areas people use most are:
1. the mail
2. the formation
3. negotiations
So if we develop something to give the users a good coverage on those 3 things, it should be enough.
I am not saying we will not have more in future, though… Who knows?
Ok guys, can we be objective here? What do YOU think we should be investing our time in? I would like to see 2-3 bullet points from each, if possible. No more than that. Just the top priorities. At the moment I have some incomplete code with the intent of changing the youth development model – which I intend to complete once I get in the mood to do it (hopefully very soon).
After that, I was thinking about maybe fixing other things that have been neglected for a long time, such as the newspaper. I was also planning to add a small mobile-version of our website, just with the very basics for you to admin your team on-the-go (something that would fit well on an iphone screen, for example).
looks like you may be having a problem with cookies… please make sure your browser has “cookies” enabled and allow them to be created at the rubysoccer website – as your user session depends on it to exist.
You’re right, just changed it.
nope, it was stuck. back to normal now…
Not that I know of… After we finish some of our next improvements I will have a look at our benchmarks. But generally speaking 30 minutes is not so bad, considering the number of matches that are played every turn. Matches are the single most expensive actions the tick has to perform.
With the new youth system, the number of matches you play is not going to be of importance anymore. The participation in different types of matches is still going to be important, but not repetition to exhaustion anymore.
consertado!
Fixed!
Hey guys, we are currently on holidays here in new zealand. Hope you all have a happy new year! 2012 is certainly going to be a great year for rubysoccer.
cheers!
By the way, my new laptop is here :). Expect new features / improvements.
Fixed 2 things:
- the google account login (it was not exactly our bug, but anyway)
- the donation links, which were disabled (not that you guys noticed, right… :) )
Hey Davison,
We have better things to do than to keep telling people what they already know here in the forum. Next time we find ourselves forced to waste our time with this kind of behavior, we will be tempted to ban you from the game for a while. Please refrain from posting without thinking in future.
Just came back from my vacations and found this disappointing topic – among others. Well, I now have a few things on my plate.. The ones I can mention are
I am also tired of this crap, let’s see if we can finally address most of this in the next weeks.
welcome! this forum has been on fire, i am currently on vacations, but glad to see the activity here!
We finally updated our portuguese translation after a long time without updates… Please report if you find any problems. Also, I know I promised the new youth system – but I still didn’t manage to free some time to work on it…
isn’t it back to normal now? it should be…
Just to let you guys know that I’ve been monitoring the instabilities and fixing errors – in other words: if you clicked on a page and saw an error, I’ve been notified. Next time you try to do the same thing, there’s a good chance the error will not be there anymore.
For those of you who use the same email for rubysoccer AND facebook: can you please login with facebook here and authorize rubysoccer when facebook asks you to? We are trying to build a base of users there so we can publish RS as an app.
By the way, the google integration works in dev but doesn’t work here in production. Still scratching my head trying to find the reasons, but I will eventually fix it…
if the address is not the same, a new account is going to be created for that email address. the easy workaround is to set your rubysoccer email address to be the same email address as your facebook account.
