The problem is that by adding the rule to avoid same country matches as much as possible I removed the rule that prevented teams from the same group to face each other in the next stage. I know, it is silly, but it was too complicated to keep both and there was a lot of pressure to implement the same country avoidance.
@Filipe: I agree new countries should be added with time and patience, but 1 more european and 1 or 2 South American countries should be enough.
Yeah, I know, groups on international cups have been disappointing recently. The problem amacb mentioned happens because we use the same formula to create league matches and group matches, but this formula is clearly not good for such a small number of teams. Now what Filipe said can be easily fixed when we have 8 groups. Not that it can’t be fixed right now, it’s just that with 8 groups it would be much easier to update our code to make groups more interesting or random. I’ve been promising to add more countries for a while now, shame on me! It’s hard to prioritize when you have so many important aspects of the game to consider :-)
No patience required, problem resolved!
Yes, we know about it and what to do to fix it but I’m at work and Danilo is at the train, not much we can do right now but ask for your patience :-)
Cheers.
I know you guys are now complaining that youths take to long to evolve, but remember the system became what it is because youths were evolving too fast and teams like Gama in FastTicker had a full squad of 19-21 y.o. superstars. We’ll keep that in mind while changing the system again. We’re getting there :-)
Hotlists Notifications
This is the first of a series of hotlists notifications improvements. Now when a player on your hotlist is transfer listed you’ll receive a message about that with the price included. This will help managers in going after the players they’re interested in and also reduce the number of “undercover” deals. Enjoy!
Fired some of the users that were identified as cheaters in the past. Still investigating all the others related to Rene Silva and Marcos Tadeu.
Humpf, it seems to be stuck for a while now, no time update. We’ll have a look.
The idea is that there is a lot more pressure on bigger clubs, so at Plymouth they are constantly pushing you to do better, so even a #6 finish may get the board disappointed. In the other hand, Amiens is probably not expected to do much so avoiding relegation already made the board happy. This is also a good mechanism to try to promote more manager rotation on big clubs.
I suppose we’ll have to do it at the database level, our logic has failed to prevent that a few times alreaday :-(
Thanks for reporting, Parag!
So it seems to be just a matter of the “Accepted” message replacing the “Rejected” message when you use the mass accept, but behind the scenes the rejected friendlies were not accepted. as intended.
New manager setting: friendly formation. This setting is used to assign a formation to automatically scheduled friendlies at season start. If you do not use the auto-friendly option this new setting is useless for you :-)
Cheers.
What the…has anyone else seen this happening??
You know, I want that too! And it shouldn’t be hard to include it the way you’re suggesting. Let’s see if I can find the time to do that later today (or at least before FastTicker’s season tick).
Cheers.
1. Not a good idea, managers could exploit that by spending development points on their own club players :-(
2. Simple and useful, I like it!
3. That could be helpful not only for national teams, but for everybody.
Thanks for the suggestions Berhan!
Thanks Graham! It’s hard to find the time to do all that we want to do, but we are getting there :-)
As for the stars the answer is yes, we definitely want to create such a system in RubySoccer. Unfortunately this hasn’t been discussed in a long while as there was always another issue to look at. If you or anybody else has any suggestions on how this should work it is very welcome!
Cheers.
I’ve contacted him again in order to resolve the multiple accounts problem. Even if he’s not cheating anymore we clearly state that multiple accounts are not allowed.
Thanks Joseppi.
I managed Braintree Town in ChallengeTwo, ManagerSim shut down during my first season in the Premiership :-(
On FullTest I managed some team from Belgium I think…
Welcome!
Some interesting ideas that we can use when re-designing the system. Let’s keep the discussion going :-)
We had 3 FastTicker ticks in a row but the schedule is back to normal now. I’m not sure if I put MediumTicker back into its normal schedule but the same probably happened, 2 or 3 ticks in a row.
The matter is being discussed, we’ll probably fire the guy.
heleno ribeiro did not share IPs with the fake account and claims that somebody may have done that on purpose…I’m not saying I believe him, just telling you guys what he said. We can discuss that with our GMs and try to find out what is the best action to take.
It was considered cheating and the involved managers were just punished today (fake manager identified and banned, other manager fined). Thanks for spotting this Joseppi!
Fake banido e time devolvido pro Paulo. Muito obrigado Félix! Se virem qualquer coisa suspeita relacionada por favor nos avisem.
Abraço
I think things will get better as soon as we have more countries (and 8 groups instead of 4). I’ll review the logic behind these competitions when we expand them.
Cheers!
You can now assign a formation to all your friendly invitations at once. Just use the select box right beside the accept all and reject all icons. This is pretty useful when you want to click the accept all button.
Cheers.
This should be fixed now. Please let us know if the problem persists.
Cheers!
Here are my thoughts and comments:
1 – As Filipe pointed out the rules are not the same for all countries and even though we plan to make it closer to reality that’s not a high priority right now.
2 – We plan to have the play-offs generated from start, it would be much more fun to plan ahead.
3 – That’s the easiest one from your suggestions, I’ll try to implement that as soon as possible.
4 – Each group in the international cups is supposed to have 2 “strong” teams and 2 “weak” teams. Of course sometimes the difference between the strong and weak is not big. In the round right after the group stage the first placed teams play against the second placed teams, randomly. After that it’s always best vs worst, randomly. A play-off structure created right after the group stage (or even before!) would be very interesting.
Thanks for your suggestions!
Now I’ve got it, the problem happens with strategies marked as “apply to all formations”. I’ll have to take another look. No screenshot proof needed, now that you’ve said that I have an idea where the error is.
Thanks!
Everything seems fine, even in your formations. One of your club players is also in the national squad and you have a strategy for him on both the club and national squad formations. Could that be the source of confusion?
