1) What exactly is “performance”?
2) Then explain this: I have one club in each of your two dimensions.

In fast ticker I have Amiens…which barely avoided relegation this past season yet consistently has a performance of 95-100%.

In slower ticker I have Plymouth A….which over many seasons has been a very competitive club. This past season finished #6. Yet its performance (for several seasons now) has bounced between 1 and 10%

Why the huge difference in performance ratings??? Please explain.

The idea is that there is a lot more pressure on bigger clubs, so at Plymouth they are constantly pushing you to do better, so even a #6 finish may get the board disappointed. In the other hand, Amiens is probably not expected to do much so avoiding relegation already made the board happy. This is also a good mechanism to try to promote more manager rotation on big clubs.
