Not sure about this one, I had a look and the error didn’t make sense so I just re-run it and it worked. I’m guessing a glitch when trying to access the database.
Hard day at work, could only fix it when I got home, hence the silence ;-)
Well, I’m not sure I have good points for your result :-)
Besides what has already been said I can add maybe your opponent’s strategy ended up working really well against yours. Maybe it ended up working well especially after the red card. Other than that it was pretty much an unlucky outcome (made worse by a possible random factor as pointed out).
Cheers
I’m not sure if I had a conversation with any of these managers in the past, I don’t think so. Anyone else maybe?
Cheers
Not recently…too much work on “real life” :-(
Thanks Joseppi. Yes, we do encourage help from you guys. As Charles pointed out private messages are usually a better idea.
That said, the new manager is not related to the previous manager, but he is linked to a different network of managers who has been under investigation more than once, so it’s worth mentioning. Of course, he/they could be innocent and just playing “by the rules” now, I’m not pointing fingers, just saying this particular network has done some wrongs in the past.

Jean was actually not playing anymore and his team was being controlled by a friend, who also has his own user and team, therefore I had to fire him.
True. The problem here is that we use the same system for groups and leagues. While it works pretty well for leagues (usually 20 teams), it generates these pairings for groups of four.
Definitely worth changing!
Thanks Imortal, 36 is for resigning from a club, 72 is for firing / transfer listing players :-)
Portuguese: Aí já é mais complicado, pois cada país tem regras específicas com relação aos times classificados pra Libertadores :-)
English: Imortal is suggesting we should implement realistic rules for Brazil, where the winner of the National Cup gets a spot in the Libertadores the following season. My reply says it’s complicated to do that, as each country has very specific rules on which teams qualify to the Libertadores.
I can confirm the 36 turn rule applies only to human managed teams :-)

It took some time but FastTicker is back to the normal. On Sunday it’s pretty hard to notice something went wrong :-)

Yeah, this kind of situation still needs fixing. We haven’t worried about it much since we’ve introduced all the South American countries cause it was less likely to happen, but unfortunately it does every now and then. I had something pretty much ready for that, let’s see if it is still going to work.

Wow! Good thing it was detected at last :-D
Welcome Adega! I used to play ManagerSim on Challenge Two and Full Test. Hope you enjoy playing RubySoccer!

Just deleted all posts that were causing the topic subject to divert from its main objective. This is the forum policy in case you’re not familiar with it yet: http://www.rubysoccer.com/forums/5/topics/2037

Danilo has just fixed the buttons, it should now take you to a page in your own language.

Hum, I don’t think it was always like this. I’ll check with Danilo who put the PayPal buttons there.

@Ilian Stefanov
1. Will discuss that with Danilo, sounds reasonable to me.
2. Agreed
3. Makes sense, will certainly consider that
4. It’s been planned from the beginning, but never prioritized. Sounds like a good addition along with the economy changes
5. That’s something Danilo has been planning, it is top priority for mobile interfaces.

Hello guys! I can almost feel your pain regarding the game economy and I’ve been trying to come up with some critical improvements. Here are the main things I have in mind:
- Detach the players’ estimated value from real transfers, making them aligned with a pre-defined formula based on skills and age (potential) plus some random factor: the idea here is to move the transfer prices back to something reasonable for managers and have a decent guideline for CPU decisions.
- Add contract clauses and player morale/happiness: the idea is to make transfers more interesting and add the possibility of having unsatisfied players which, among other things, won’t renew contracts.
- Re-design the source of income and team expenses: this is clearly important to have a stable economy.
Once I have at least a draft of these changes we can have a discussion whether a fresh dimension is a good idea to test the new features from scratch. Just to make it clear, even if we create a new dimension the new features will be applied to all of them.
Cheers!
Sim, ambas seriam interessantes e não acredito que muito difícil de incluir. Tenho certeza que temos isso em nossa lista, assim como uma partida entre o campeão da liga e da copa nacional.
English: Lince is suggesting we include a match between the champion of CL and EL, and Felix is suggesting the same for South America.
It is sad to see you leaving BK, your ideas always offer a different perspective into the game aspects :-)
I know we haven’t actually directly implemented those types of ideas, but they can be easily be the seed to something interesting. Anyway, we’ll be here if you ever want to come back.
Cheers
I was going to introduce Mexico as part of South America, but now we have a complete set of South American countries so it makes sense to have Mexico and USA as part of North America. No immediate plans to add them, though. I believe other aspects of the game need more attention now.
Fixed!
The game economy certainly needs a review. The CPU teams don’t have any kind of money injection. I’ve started a new design for the economy some months ago but I haven’t gone too far. Your suggestions would be much appreciated mrebello, I’ll contact you directly.
Cheers
Oh, I see the bug you’re referring to (I’m also using Chrome), I’ll try to fix that later today.
No, the only advantage of a higher ranked country is having a higher chance of generating players with high starting skills. Assuming a player from Turkey and one from Spain start with the same skills they will have equal chance of development, meaning both could have a similar development or either one of them could get better than the other at the end.
I imagine your player must have developed by now, right? Just a quick explanation, in the current system (which we are planning to change as Danilo pointed out) when you hire a new player his next improvement is still bound to his previous team’s coaching level, after that he will be bound to your team’s coaching level.
Indeed, thanks a lot everyone! I know I haven’t been active lately but there are several reasons behind that, the main one being I changed cities and needed a lot of time to settle down. As of yesterday I’ve finally got internet connection at home, so now I’m officially ready to get back into the game ;-)
Sorry guys, FastTicker tick got stuck and we won’t be able to fix it at least for a couple hours.
Cheers
