When you add a loan clause of a higher ranked country it will cater exactly for that requirement of top 3 countries or at least 3 positions above the player home country. Regarding the coaching level it will user your team’s coach level, not the level of the loaning team. I know, it doesn’t make sense but I wanted to simplify things for now.
Evolution Stage report changes: what to show in the report results
39% – An estimated range for the final value of the player’s main skill (e.g 90-92 tackle)
25% – An estimated range for the final value of the player’s currently worse skill (e.g. 79-83 control)
21% – An estimated range of points the player will increase in each skill (e.g. 9-10 from the example above)
15% – An estimated range of total points the player will increase among all his skills (e.g. 63-70 points for a non-GK means 9-10 points in each skill assuming points are distributed uniformly)
I’m happy with this result, it means the report will be more useful but without revealing too much :-)
That’s correct Fabio. It was hard to come up with the appropriate wording for this coach report, I’m glad you got it right…hehe.
Team name change poll results
34% – Yes, go for it.
30% – No, new teams should be introduced only when we have new dimensions, countries or divisions.
28% – Yes, but if the team is managed the manager has to agree.
08% – Yes, but all managers in the team’s country have to agree.
Grouping all the “Yes” options we have 70% against 30% of “No” answers. Grouping the ones who want some kind of control on the renaming it’s 36% against 34% who just want it done regardless. As a result the name change will happen but we will always consult the team’s manager (if it’s a managed team) or all the managers in the team’s country, when deemed relevant.
Thanks for your participation! A new poll will come soon about how detailed should the Evolution Stage coach report be.
Next feature poll
31% – Better player match rating calculation
31% – Coaching: Evolution Stage report should provide a ball park figure on points left to improve instead of a vague text
19% – Star system change: players become stars gradually and remain as such for longer
11% – Something else
8% – Foreign players adaptation period: performance penalty until they’re fully adapted
We had the exact same number of votes for the top two options above, so we’re doing them both next. I’ll probably work on the coach report change first as it should be quicker.
I have noticed that too and I think that comes from the fact we don’t spend too much time improving CPU teams logic. Just to give a few examples:
-CPU teams in general don’t use very effective formations and they have no memory of which ones they’ve used and if it had a good result
-they “change their mind” quite often about which players to keep and sell
-the balance of good players vs promising players is not very good, too many reasonably good players are sold / let go
I usually ask myself what is the priority of enhancing CPU team behaviour vs improving something that matters to human managers and I end up working on something else, but we may be neglecting them too much. I was working on a change to make CPU teams use formations that were currently in use by human managers, but I put that on hold, afraid they would be much stronger. Anyway, what is your view on CPU behaviour improvements?
@Hounddog there is no specific advantage for big country teams when playing against small country ones, the only thing that counts is player quality and tactics. Playing against CPU teams is very different from playing against good managers. When playing in Croatia in FastTicker a few seasons ago I consistently won the league and national cup but could never progress much on CL. I’m not saying your tactics and strategy are terrible, I’m sure they’re not otherwise even CPU teams would beat you :-)
The new scouting system generated some mixed feelings but it will probably remain for now, we don’t want to continuously change the same thing (unless it’s clearly broken) as we have other important things to improve. I can’t say much about selling players in MediumTicker as I’ve just recently come back to it. I’ve sold a few players but had to fire a couple as no teams seemed interested. Selling towards the end of the season can be harder as lots of teams may have exhausted their transfer budget.
Anyway, we’re in the same country now and I’m curious to see how next season will go and how much of a challenge CL will be. Just be nice to the “newcomer” ;-)
Cheers
CPU teams will now start making offers to non-transfer listed players. This concludes the cycle of changes related to this feature, we’ll know evaluate how things go and adjust later on if necessary. You can expect a poll soon asking about the next big thing you’d like to see in RubySoccer.
Cheers
Yep, noticed that after some changes I’d done last week. I’ve fixed it coming to work today but didn’t have the time to put the changes in the game yet, should happen in the next few hours.
Thanks!
Star players that provide hiring bonus now increase the impact of your transfer proposals. Similarly, they also help reduce the impact of transfer proposals your players receive. In addition to that I’ve fixed the recalculation of the player overall status after a transfer, now it happens immediately.
Cheers
The higher ranked country is in relation to the player’s country, not to his club’s country. That means your club also qualifies to satisfy the requirement as Holland is 3 positions above Uruguay in the ranking. I know, it’s a bit confusing :-D
Improvements to player status:
-Any transfer proposal, even for listed players, may impact the overall status of the player in question and of your own players
-Clicking on the player name in the team players status screen takes you to the player status screen instead of player info
-Player status screen now tells you the current impact of proposals to that player’s overall status (if greater than 0%)
Improvements to transfers/loans/free players screen:
-When entering the page it will by default load the transfer listed players
-It is not possible to sort by age
-Bug fix related to sorting
Miscellaneous:
-Every turn all countries without any human managed clubs will be deactivated and one of them will be randomly made active. In other words, there will always be exactly one active country without managers.
New improvements deployed:
-When players from CPU teams receive unsolicited transfer offers the team may decide to renew his contract in order to drop the offers, if the player is considered valuable to the team
-Retiring players will never have their overall status reduced to 0%
The status is low because the player is tempted by the existing transfer offers received (and also may be affected by any offers you’re doing for other players that are not transfer listed). Maybe I should made this information visible in the status screen to be more clear. If you want to keep this player one thing you can do is renew his contract, all offers will go away and nobody can make an offer for him in the next 72 turns.
Regarding the CPU teams role in making and receiving offers for non-listed players
82% – CPU should both make and receive offers for non-listed players
08% – CPU should receive and deal with the offers but not make them
06% – CPU should only make the offers, not receive them
04% – No Answer
00% – Offers for non-listed players should be made and received only by human managed teams
I’m glad we were already heading in the direction the majority has chosen :-)
It is most likely that money will return to the game as it was before, we’ll have a poll about it when the time comes. But as far as buying and selling players go, money is already back to the game. The transfer budget is not a separate money bucket, it’s just the amount from your total money that is available for transfers, so whenever you buy/sell players you’re dealing with your money balance so no investment points involved (except to limit how much from your balance you can spend).
Fixed a bug where CPU teams were transfer listing youth players.
Latest changes:
-Impact of your own unsolicited transfer offers on your squad is greater if you have more players
-Wage status recalculated immediately on wage change
-Youth players overall status can never reach 0
Additional improvements:
-Hide detailed status list from outside managers
-Make visible the overall status text (Critical, Bad, Neutral or Good) in the player info screen for outside managers
-Players may ask for higher wages when affected by unsolicited proposals for them or by your own unsolicited proposals to outside players if such proposals are of interest to the respective players
-CPU managed players whose status become critical (0%) will be automatically transfer listed
-Renewal proposals will be cancelled if player status becomes critical
Another phase of the player status and non-listed offers feature has just been deployed! Every player’s overall status has been reset to 50% but they will be slowly updated as changes happen and offers are made. All players will now have their match participation status updated, including youths, retiring, goalkeepers and cpu-managed players.
The morale concept has been replaced by the status concept and the tab where you used to see your players morale now display statuses. Having low match participation will no longer impact match performance or influence other players morale and will no longer be the sole criteria for a player deciding not to renew contract.
When a player receives interesting transfer offers and he is not transfer listed, his overall status will decrease. When you make transfer offers to non listed players your players’ overall status may also decrease. Once the player status reaches 0 he will request to be transfer listed and will not accept contract renewal proposals. This may be too conservative but it’s better to start this way and evaluate what happens.
Transfer offers to non listed players cannot be made if the player has renewed the contract in the last 72 turns and all non listed offers are dropped once the player contract is renewed. We are yet to do some changes so that the wage asked by players on renewal is affected by the offers against him and also by offers being done by his own team.
CPU teams do not participate in this yet, meaning they will not yet react to unsolicited offers and will still be able to renew contracts when overall status is 0. That will change in the next update.
As usual, all feedback is welcome.
Cheers
The rules for national teams are very simplistic at the moment. You’re fired if you don’t achieve your goals in the continental cup or if you don’t overachieve in the world cup. The only exception is if you win the world cup you’re not fired, even if your goal was to win it, as there is no way to overachieve :-)
It can definitely be improved so thanks for the suggestions. Player names were changed due to the new layout, as the full name usually didn’t fit in smaller screens and we had some line breaking and scrolling. We can trial shrinking text or removing /rearranging attributes so that it fits back in.
Ranking players by age is a no-brainer and I’m pretty sure it was just missed in the layout transition. Regarding Fabio’s last suggestion of one less click, what should we open by default when you go to the TL? Just transfer? All types (transfer, free and loan)?
I’ll add these and any further suggestions in this topic to our list of improvements.
It’s been a while but happened again. Not sure if it’s the same thing, I’ll have a look soon.
You get this message when the sum of the new offer you’re trying to make with all the existing transfer offers you have is greater than your transfer budget. Let me know if that’s not the case and we’ll investigate.
It’s a known issue, that’s for sure! We randomly distribute first placed teams against second placed teams, without considering whether they were in the same group. In terms of international competitions we need to fix that and improve the country distribution in the group phase.
You guys should meet in the final as usual! :-(
I’ve sent you an in-game message on FastTicker to get more details.
Cheers
Yeah, didn’t make the players very smart on such decisions :-)
The weakest team tie breaker served two purposes: increase the chance of a player being played in official matches AND helping weaker teams.
The logic is highest wage percentage, then longest loan period, then weakest team bidding. In terms of improvement if he only needs to play matches he’ll improve equally fast in any team, otherwise it depends on what is the player requirement. Did you set up anything specific in your loan clauses such as team playing international competitions or from higher ranked countries?
All you said is correct (the 35 minutes thing can be less, but that’s a safe number). Interesting suggestion, funny nobody thought about it for player development before morale was implemented. Well, I guess that’s because everybody played friendlies like crazy to develop their players before “training” came into the picture.
Anyway, added to our list! Let’s see if others have more improvement suggestions for the formation rules.
