Fortaleza has very good talent… they never had the best talent. They just used to have a GREAT manager! (LOL)

No offense to the Libertadores teams, or the Champions League teams… but it was unreal just to win serie A in Brazil. There are SO many GREAT teams there.
My only goal was to take a previously unmanaged team, and finish ahead of Francois Michelet’s Cruzeiro team! I did that a few seasons ago, and beat him in the Copa Sudamericana final last season. Once I did that, everything else was gravy.
More than a few seasons back, I picked up a good young Spanish forward… Tome Castelo. He just exploded once I started playing him. But I had to sell him (for $9 million), because I badly needed the cash to keep my other players and stay in Serie A. I knew I’d regret it… and I did. (Corinthians later sold him for $50 million…)

Christian Ribas is THE MAN. Period. I’m lucky to have him. When I look at his “value”, I laugh… and know that the “value” isn’t quite right! He’s the most valuable player on my team, and possibly in the game. I guess no one would sell a guy like him, so the program has no basis to judge his true value.
BTW, Salgado is not so awesome as he might seem… I play a more central game, and he’s a LR only guy… so he’s somewhat less effective for me than he might seem. ALL my other 3 usual mids have better AVG results than Salgado!!! Not that Salgado is bad…
Now… the hard part… I gotta try to do it all over again! LOL

OK. BTW, it was turn 86 that I got the message telling me the youth contract was expiring. Can you check to make sure I was on vacation mode at that time? Maybe I just messed up.
I have 28 players, and one on loan. Maybe I didn’t set the vacation mode in that world? (fast ticker). I dunno. I thought I did. The player (Bruno Lessa, now on Monaco) is good. He doesn’t fit my team perfectly, but I’d have signed him up, just to see what happens with him. I don’t want to make a big fuss about it… I can’t complain… my team is pretty good already.
I just want to know what happened, so I can make better arrangements next time I’m on vacation!
I went on vacation for a few days… I come back, and one of my youths left the team?
If it doesn’t cover this, what does vacation mode actually do?

The average (mean) age on my team is probably around 20. The median age is 19. That’s just crazy. It should be around 26 or 27. My team, and every team, should have one or two players age 30+ in the starting lineup. I only have 2 players age 30+… and one is on loan, and the other I keep for purely sentimental reasons! My next 2 oldest players are 25. They were my “studs” a few seasons back. Now neither of them plays.
The other 31 players are 22 or less. ALL of my starters are 22 or less… all with 80’s and 90’s skills.
And I’m not nearly the best in Brazil. And many Brazil fast-ticker teams are constructed like mine.
It’s CRAZY in fast-ticker Brazil!!! Totally out of control.
I RARELY look at transfer markets now. Why bother? I don’t often find anything useful there. And if a player is good enough for my team, he is going to cost WAY too much. It’s easy to develop good young players now.
I’m not sure of what to do, or how to do it. But something clearly needs to change. So I’m glad you are making changes!
… next… more countries… and National teams!!!
ps. last year, my team was losing, and I didn’t know why. This year, I’m winning, and I don’t know why! I have almost no “feel” for the matches anymore. Player development feels etched in stone… and the match results feel totally random… and it should be the other way around!

I dunno. I’m not complaining (honest!!)… but… I dunno. The game feels “off” for now. But it’s OK, I like playing it anyway!

I have an 80% tackle rate. He’s 44%.
I have a 63% passing rate. He’s 59%.
My team is generally as fast as his… and I have MUCH BETTER dribbling.
HOW can he have a possession advantage???
I just don’t see how that works.
I also am not certain about providing a “goalkeeping penalty” just because there are no defenders. There is no such “penalty” in real life… but what DOES happen in real life is that “free” attackers generally do not pass the ball backwards when given a free opportunity at goal. THAT is what I think needs correcting.
Any player on a clear cut “breakaway” will look to shoot first. And only pass to a teammate who is in a better (also unmarked) position… THAT is what we need to put into the game. Not some abstract “penalty” against the keeper.
Looking at the replay of the game… it seems to me that if players were on a “breakaway”… meaning they have the ball… are onside… and have NO defenders between them and the goalie… if they were forbidden to pass backwards in those situations… but instead ran forward and took a shot (or passed FORWARD) for someone else to take a shot… then the “no defenders” setup would be much less useful!
Because MOST of the time, players in that situation make a long BACKWARD pass… which allows the other team to catch up to the play. That would never happen in real life.

I have 80% tackling success… he has 44%.
My passing % is higher also: 63% to 59%.
So, how does he get 52% possession to my 48% ????
And yet I have a 35 to 15 shot advantage…
and we end up tied 2-2.
In the past, I would have CRUSHED him on possession advantage… killed him on shots like 40-4… and won 2-0.
Seriously… if you are being out-tackled AND out-passed… how can you have a possession advantage??? Especially if I have better dribblers (and I didn’t check, but I bet I do!). It just doesn’t make sense.
And if you have a possession advantage… and the other team has no defenders… how do you get out-shot 35-15?
And if you get out shot 35-15… how do you get a 2-2- tie score?
hey… I know “things happen”… but this has been going on all season.
To me… it all comes back to how the matches play… and that it feels “different” now.
I don’t know what in particular has changed, but something has. I’m OK with it changing… and that it might take time for me to “figure it out” in a way that lets me improve my team’s results.
I know I can’t compete with the highly built up teams on straight “main categories”… they have all the best tacklers, passers, and shooters. So, I focus on tackling as a team, speed, and dribbling. And try to unearth a goalie with 90+ keeper (which I lack presently!) And just tried to get players that are “good enough” in the passing and shooting and other skills. This let me get the ball, and keep it, more than most other teams. So, I could often beat “better” teams… simply because I would keep the ball most of the game!
This system doesn’t work well now. I don’t dominate possession now (despite having better tackling and dribbling now)… and even when I do have the possession edge, it doesn’t seem to translate into a significant edge in shots. Everything feels a bit more “random” in the way the game stats work out now… including scoring.
I am NOT saying anything is broken. I’m just saying it feels different… and it feels like my management of my team and players is less important now… less direct. My control is less. And I need to work out a new way of getting better results.
Maybe that’s good! :)

YES, I have a M -1 and he “moves back” when we don’t have the ball. And he is the one that keeps ending up listed as a D in the game summary.
Also, I am the one playing the 0-3-7 formation in fast ticker!!! I AGREE it is completely ridiculous! But my usual 4-4-2 was not getting ANY results at all for me… and so I just tried something crazy… and it seemed to work better.
I normally play a style and setup that allows me to dominate possesion, and usually shots, and hence, the game. This season I am breaking in a lot of younger players, so I expected a little drop off in finishing (scoring) and in goalkeeping… but this group of younger players seems well suited to playing my possession game… even better than some of my olders players… so I expected to keep that part going. But the game “plays” differently somehow now. And what I used to do, doesn’t seem to work now. So, meanwhile… I play a 037… seems idiotic, but I really don’t know what else to do right now. and hey, it works (sometimes).

and in my last game I have my 3-4-3 again… and the players end up in a 4-3-3? I have NO formation strategies in this game. No players got injured. But one of my midfielders ends up playing D?
And maybe it’s just me… but my results are not coming out as they were before… and the game feels “not quite right” to me this season.
well… that’s weird… I didn’t setup my players to change positions during the game, and I didn;t have any injuries during the game… so they all should have ended in the same positions they started. ???
I have played in many different leagues, in many different sports, and I have found that swap deals ALWAYS end up causing problems.
Even with a “commissioner” to look at every deal… it becomes a problem.
In my opinion, no swap deals.

It is reported that I used a 3-4-3 setup, which is what I did set up. But the positions listed for the players in the match show I have 2 d, 4 mid, 4 attackers! And I lost this game 6-0. I’ve never lost a game like that before. So… I’m wondering if something went wrong?
“Value” is nearly meaningless now. Therefore useless. Worse then that… it’s potentially/actually confusing!
When a 100 rated defender is available for free transfer… and he’s valued at only 2.9 million… but gets a salary of around 700,000+!… and he had 2 or 3 bad players “valued” above him on the free agent list… it’s insane… and meanwhile I have 16yo striker with NO skills and worth 3 million?
UGH.
So now the free agent lists are useless… because the “value” that you use to sort them is useless. So, you need to look at every single player. And that’s OK if you want it that way… but then you should just ELIMINATE the “value” rating at that point. Because it DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING.
Something is seriously amiss. I watched the “value changes” as it started, and I thought it might correct itself, so I kept quiet and just watched and waited. It seems to be getting worse instead.
I am now of the opinion that there is something FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG now. Something that needs to be looked at, and fixed.

In medium ticker (Mallorca/Spain), I have a slow striker who has some other decent skills, and is among the leaders in the division in scoring. He’s valued at 800,000. I just got a 16 yo forward, with a 60’s shooting, and no other good numbers… and he’s “valued” at 3 million.
Please explain, how does that make sense?

Absolutely. Or just get rid of the “valuations” altogether. Seriously, they are that meaningless now. If anything, they only serve to distract… so why have them at all?
The player “values” are nearly meaningless at this point. It’s broken, and you need to fix it.
Create your “reserve” or “friendlies” lineup and save it. Then create a substitution pattern for that lineup. You can make up to 10 subs in each friendly game, so get your young and developing players into the games.
Schedule some friendlies. Rotate the 3 youth goalies in each game. One starts. Replace him after 30 minutes. Then replace that one at 60 minutes. Each keeper will get 30 minutes of playing time. Hopefully, at least one of them will make some good progress. No problem!

Hey, I won the league championship with Torino in slow ticker in season 6… I left AFTER all the league games were completed (but before all the friendlies were over). Francisco Campanacho took over and it lists HIM as the winning manager??? That’s not right!!!! I took that team to the title, not him!!!! :)
