The player considers he’s got more chances of playing first team in the team he chose. It is done so smaller teams have more chances of getting better players. As you have better defenders then D. Aves (for the game at least) he thinks he can be more important and play important matches in Aves rather than Offenbach.
For you to make him want to go to your team you needed to offer more, we dont know how the math is done, but thats the principle of players decision in such cases.

One of the simpler divide and conquer techniques to ridicule the guys saying what others might have thought but not mentioned. Remember the tale of the king’s invisible clothes?
No matter how the message is delivered, listen to it carefully. Davisson often sounds like a guy with a lot of issues, but do not forget his passion for the game.
Let’s just consider what the game really is. You can simplify it as state machines where INPUT results in RESULTS. As simple as that.
If you have a good tactic, and the best players – you will win.
Tactics, you can copy from others, so that is not a n issue here. THE PLAYERS are the key. HOW do you get your hands on the players.
Issues like managers selling only to certain friends and in some cases to themselves (2nd or x-th account) is more than likely to happen.
There are several methods to prevent this.
I do not believe there is such a thing that is " a legendary manager", because EVERYONE can do the same INPUT to the game engine, you can not do UNIQUE stuff that ONLY you can do. The players again are the key. How you get your players is the ISSUE, and Davisson and others have seen this too many times to let it pass as great managers doing great things. I kind of agree to that assessment.
Couple of ways to prevent this.
- completely revamp of how the great player is produced. This has to be KEPT SECRET, it’s part of the game reward system. You do not make a roulette game saying next will be RED, right?
Analyse few player histories, and create few patterns how a player can reach to what level of greatness by doing what?!
Some player could become star at 18, while others might need to hit certain checkpoints before getting there (IF EVER)
- let clubs sell any player if manager can not deliver, the other clubs could buy any player then. You can not keep bulking up your players.
- player morale, form, and these are two different things.
- morale could be affected when you have 4 goalies and buy a 5th or something similar. Then that could trigger few actions, some positive some negative. The effect could last a month and some even half/full season.
- form, some players need to play a certain amount of time in order to be at top level, others less. Rotating teams should mean something more than gaining stamina.
Anyway, to the subject, if you have a system where some are biased for no certain reason that is probably cheating. Like the most usual thing in such games, buying players others can not.

I see what you’re saying, I think Football Manger has such feature. How difficult would that be? Not much really, I guess with some focus all the changes and testing could be done in 1-2 hours.

Middlesbrough just listed two excellent players, one done with evolution but as I pointed before already a great keeper, now one of the Turkish National team keepers, selected by one of the most successful managers in the game.
Now the news is Phil Myers, a 24 y.o still improving defender who can easyly get to 100 tackle. Not as improved in secundary skills but with a bit of luck can also become a national team star.
Same price for both, not negotiable. Be fast!

eu sei, eu vi que te faltavam 5m depois de teres vendido um jogador para o Feyenoord por 90m e então foi preciso veres mais um barato para um time CPU ;) infelizmente, eu não consegui vender os meus jogadores tão depressa para poder comprar o Caldas…

Quando eu vi os jogadores do Lokomotiv, realmente hesitei, pois não tinha todo o valor para o Caldas.
Mas acabou que entrou um manager no Lokomotiv e os jogadores saíram do mercado e nesse meio tempo eu consegui vender um jovem para os BOT e acabou dando certo a transação.
Foi um golpe de sorte, eu não esperava que um jogador desse iria para o mercado. Tenho o costume de sempre acompanhar os jogadores de seleção para ver se algum está no mercado. E durante toda a temporada reuni valores para comprar o Adrian Pareja do U Leria, mas acabou que a negociação ficou para essa temporada por conta do reset do caixa no final de temporada.

Your legendary status in this game is unmatched. I’m not here to tell you how to run your business but I know you’re trying to make light of a difficult situation. It’s never nice to be accused of being a cheater, especially when no cheating occurred. That said, I myself would have just turned the other cheek and let bygones be bygones. You’re just adding fuel to a small fire. No need to increase it.
Being a player of many years of this game, I know the frustration of losing a player at the last tick. Of course you’re not obligated to sell but perhaps an in game message explaining your position would have been a better way to handle it. If you did that, great.
I usually stay away from the forums as you can tell by my very low post count but just thought I could add my two cents to this situation.
Now, back to the game we love……it is only a game after all.

According to an intel source, their names are Sergiy Migashko and Afonso Caldas, sold with 31 ticks difference, so maybe Hercule is missing a piece here when he claims it happened twice, one after another. Damn, how could my lawyer missed that!!!

À tua arrogância, quem diria), Lince ou lá como te chamas: se os jogadores que estão à venda custam 600 milhões e eu só tenho 380m, explica-me devagarinho como é que eu os posso comprar primeiro, como sugeres?
Tinha vendido antes para quê se os jogadores que me interessavam ainda não estavam à venda e eu não fazia a menor ideia de que iam estar num futuro próximo? Sou adivinho, por acaso? After tears thrown away at Oprah’s, I needed 10 minutes to recover from my dramatic confession. But, as promised this morning, I then sit with the journalists to answer all the questions they had. Here’s the result.
Q: Why did you decide to admit cheating after all these years playing SS/MS/RB?
A: It was the second time a great detective we have in our community accused me at the forum. At the first try, no one cared. They thought it was just madness. But then the Hercule Poirot presented strong evidence and left me no other option but confess: Yes, I’m a cheater. A big fucking cheater. I’m not proud about it, but I simply can’t avoid cheating. It’s a kind of disease, I can’t explain.
Q: What did this Parrot find out about you?
A: Poirot. His name is Poirot, not parrot. Well, he discovered that, after I transfer list a player he would like to have on his team, I then changed my mind and didn’t sell the player. Twice! That was outrageous and leave me no room to hide behind the mask anymore.
Q: Did you sell that player to another team?
A: No. I kept him on my team. How could I have such behaviour?
Q: But how come that is cheating?
A: The guy was disappointed, don’t you understand?

A: All of my life I got used to see Hercule Poirot find the guilty of a crime and, if he’s saying I’m guilty, that’s because I am! What are you trying to suggest?! Don’t you dare to question Agatha Christie, my friend, don’t you dare!

A: Of course. If you don’t sell a player to Poirot and change your mind twice after transfer list him, you cheat. When you are talking about a great detective like him, you have to sell that player, it’s in the rules, man. You have to take his money and lose it all just 3 ticks later.
Q: I see: but if you didn’t want to sell that player, why did you list him, right? Twice?!
A: Exactly. That was my biggest mistake, my crime gun, if you want. I wanted to buy a player listed for +500 million, so I needed money. But all of sudden another team bought him. And I removed all my players from the transfer list. I should have complained to authorities about the other team buying the player I wanted.
Q: And that happened twice?
A: Shame on me. First it was a midfielder, then an attacker for more than +600m. I did it all over again, lost that player and removed my players from the list. That’s what I regret most. This has no possible forgiveness.
Q: What punish would you consider fair to your offense?
A: Life in prison, at least. But I would consider dead penalty, too. I should have sold that player.
Q: Do you have anything you would like to say to Poirrot now?
A: Yes. Thank you. I’m feeling much better now. It’s like a relief, telling the truth. His find outs might turn me into a better person. I’m learning the meaning of ethics, respect, fair play, all the good things sport can teach you.
Q: Poirot said you had an accomplice, his name is Filipe…
A: Yes, he helped me (Sorry to bring you down with me Filipe).

A: I think he was bidding on another player of mine.

A: Well, then I canceled his offer just like I did the others.

Gabriel its not the not being polite I’m worried about, he simply called us cheaters with no explanation about what that cheating could be, or any evidence it was really cheating… I’m all for open communication on cheating, I posted here some cases in the past even, but all the times I presented detailed information and evidences, I dont take lightly being called a cheater so I wont lightly call someone that too. Its simply bad character, and that I can call Davison, he present the evidences for me every time he posts something here.
I dont agree on that rule to make people have players listed, it is a free market and you can have a lot of reasons to list a player and be regretful just after… But if you dont see that I present another argument: If you go ahead with this you’ll have to make people not able to change player’s price for the same time (or the rule itself would be useless), now imagine you list a player for 50M, you get 3 teams biding, one of them bids 100M. You wont be able to change the price and the player will leave for 50M. I would consider that more annoying than a manager removing players from transfer list.
Lince, I dont know what Rui’s strategy was, but I’m sure there was one. He should be free to do that and you knew that could happen, so live with it and move on. I recently fired a top striker because I needed space on the team to buy some star players from Locomotive’s CPU manager (anyone paying attention knows what I’m talking about), of course a manager signed for the team and removed all players from transfer, any the case I still got a player, not the one I wanted and still 4times the price the CPU had listed him :D
I don’t know how difficult it is to implement, but I would find it useful if you could add notes to (your own) players. For example, if you’re considering to sell a player but do not want to put him on the transfer list yet; or if you want to give a player rest for some turns but don’t want to forget to select him later again. Or if you just want to remind yourself how you want to use a player.
Of course you can make notes on your own computer about players, but in game would be more convenient.
Com o novo sistema de economia poderia se colocar a hipotese de aumentar o numero maximo de jogador no planetel de 30 para 35, ora muitos; jovens jogadores por vezes nao sao guardados pois iriam ocupar espaco de um jogador titular ou bom suplente; com esse novo sistema de economia poucos jogadores estao a venda e isso poderia ajudar na evolucao de outros jogadores ter um pouco mais de espaco no plantel; é de facil implementacao e nao iria prejudicar ninguem…
Rui; vou te responder em português pois sera mais para entenderes, eu nunca disse que a culpa era tua ; simplesmente nao tens respeito pelos outros jogadores alem de seres arrogante so porque estas bem posicionado no ranking nao és mais nem menos que os outros e nao tens o direito de tambem vires para ca ofender os outros utilizadores ate porque nao te ofendi mas duvido que terias os no sitio para me dizeres isso na minha cara mas para ofender ja temos um determinado usuario…
O teu raciocinio nao tem logica ao dizeres que so vendes se comprares quem queres… primeiro entao compra e depois poe a venda pois se précisasses do dinheiro para comprar terias vendido antes ora nao precisas….. so fazes isso é para chatear os outros pois sempre esperas o ultimo turno para cancelar e depois um ou dois turnos depois voltas a colocar os mesmos jogadores a venda; nao me atires areia para os olhos porque nao tenho a tua idade. Mas fazes o que quiseres com a tua equipa obviamente.
Como te disse os jogadores deveriam fazer o mesmo ; nao te vender nada nem te comprar nada ai seria engracado; no meu caso nao te comprarei mais ninguem enquanto jogar; so me interessava um jogador que esteve varias epocas na minha pequena lista e quando o Napoli o vendeu nao tive oportunidade de estar online para dar oferta mas ate no meu caso mandei te uma pm a dar te um valor por esse jogador; colocaste a venda praticamente o dobro que eu estava a dar por um jogador velho que esta a perder caracteristicas; dei esse valor na mesma pois estavamos em fim de epoca e mesmo assim cancelaste… e voltaste a por na lista se isso nao é gozar com as pessoas….
No entanto concordo contigo quando dizes que é chato perder o dinheiro no fim da epoca….
Gabriel concordo sobre um usuario nao poder remover logo um jogador que colocou em lista de transferencia para mim pelo menos durante 4 turnos o jogador que esta na transferencia deveria permanecer; ou entao colocar uma clausula de rescisao que seria baseado nas caracteristicas, no valor que o jogador foi comprado e na sua prestacao no clube, como ja foi referido a moral dos jogadores tambem seria bem vinda.
I will ignore the sarcasm from Davison and Rui and reply to Berhan. This is not cheating per se but I agree we should not allow a player to be removed from the transfer list before he has spent at least 6 tunrs in there I’d say. And yes, once we have morale putting a player on transfer list will definitely affect it.
Now, BACK TO THE TOPIC’S SUBJECT…Daniel, some clarifications:
1- I can see 2 motivations to have a good performance and win competitions: have your name in there and securing more board points for the following season.
2- You’re not always getting new points besides the one already invested. Every season the game calculates how many points your team will have and give them to you. If they are equal or greater than the previous season you will see all your investments at the same level as before, plus any additional points available to be spent. If the new number of points is less than what you had in the previous season the game will randomly decrease levels from your investment areas until they get to a level suitable to your new total number of board points. Any extra points after this process will be displayed as available to be spent. As you can see it always looks like you are getting additional points, but in some cases your investment levels may have been automatically reduced from one season to the other. Too confusing? :-)
3- The points you need to upgrade do not vary according to your team’s level, the upgrades cost the same to all teams and the number of points distributed to each team depends exclusively in the team’s finishing positions in each competition in the previous season, the team’s country ranking and the remaining transfer budget from the previous season.
4- Not much to say about this one, I must agree the money aspect of the game has lost most of its purpose with the change, but at the same time the board points system added a new dimension to the game.
I’m not defending the new system, just clarifying its mechanics ;-)
