Well as far as i know 140 points of growth is on avarage. Not all players have the same potencial. Imagine a guy, say player “A” starts his career with 180 points to unluck with estimated value of 200k. His twin brother player “B” starts his career with just 100 points to unluck but with value of 600k beacause he has better stats looking much more promising.

In the end they wil be equally good but only difference would be player “A” reaching his peak in a later stage in his career.

I replied to you in game and I’ll say the same thing here. I don’t call you stupid as a person. I think in general TL ing players “you don’t actually want to sell” is stupid. It’s not you Damago :)…don’t worry….I think your an ok guy :)

DaMaGo, he didn’t call you stupid as a person, just the principle of transfer-listing players that aren’t really for sale…

You can’t arrange friendlies with CPUs :)
It doesn’t matter who you play against. All friendlies, even against girlscouts, count as 1 EP. :D

Thanks for the clarifications Dhimitri & Vaughn!

So the whole point of my questions was to see if it was in my better interest to just schedule friendly games at my home with computer teams of 1st divisions…

Actually that brings up another question, any difference between playing a friendly with a 1st division team of Turkey instead of Spain for example???

1. Yes, players could even grow at the age of 30 if they haven’t played enough games in the past, or they always played with 0 coaching level, but as I said this are exceptions. Good majority of players complete growth by age 23
2. Yes, the coaching level (CL), affects the speed with each players unlock their growth pts. At CL 10, a player would grow every 15 EP, at CL 5, he would grow every 30 EP (example).
3. Correct! Not sure about the stamina, but I think that’s correct too.

Well, my team comprised mostly of veterans has made a fantastic run but all good things must come to an end. I certainly never expected to achieve this level of success. Believe it or not, my board wanted me to reach the group stage. Me and the “boys” (or men I should say) made the superiors proud… Hopefully Marseille can bring home France’s first CL cup!!!

Anyhow, I wish to thank Sylvain (Brest) and my twin brother Charles (Auxerre) for helping me out throughout the past 2 seasons. I wouldn’t be where I am without them…and a very special mention to Luc Blomme.

And regarding the language issues, as far as I know, Francois (Marseille), Martin (Grenoble, Ali (Nice), Charles (Auxerre), and Me (Monaco) all speak French fluently…

Last but not least, despite not getting to finals to play Marseille, I’m very happy and proud to see France gaining the number 1 spot in Europe in terms of UEFA points. I never thought we’d get there quickly since there was a 40 point spread with Spain last season. It’s amazing how things can change so quickly which is a lesson for all of us…never keep your guard down as there’s always another country gunning for the top place. Who knows, we may be the victims next season hehehe.

Bonne Chance Marseille!

1) I have had players OVER 24 growing in a few stats.
2) Coaching level is also a very important (and expensive) factor.
3) Players DO grow if they are subbed at the 55th minute…but not after correct? Also, subbing at the 55th minute doesn’t affect stamina as much.

And lastly: A player needs to play at least 35 minutes to gain experience pts. Basically, a player entering the game after the 55th minute won’t get experience! :)

Also:
A Player can unlock only a certain amount of GP per season

For example:

Season 1: 28 GP out of 140= 20% (16 yo)
Season 2: 21 GP out of 140= 15% (17 yo)
Season 3: 21 GP out of 140= 15% (18 yo)
Season 4: 28 GP out of 140= 20% (19 yo)
Season 5: 14 GP out of 140= 10% (20 yo)
Season 6: 14 GP out of 140= 10% (21 yo)
Season 7: 14 GP out of 140= 10% (22 yo)

So, by the age of 22 the player has unlocked all his 140 pts of growth.

1. Players complete their growth between ages 22-24 (there are exceptions)
2. If a player doesn’t unlock all his yearly potential, the remaining pts are passed over to the next season/s
3. If a youth (suppose 19 yo) is not growing anymore the 2d half of the season: It means he has unlocked all GP for that season, so playing him in more games for the rest of the season won’t affect his growth (those games won’t count as EP for the remainder of the season)

Is there any possibility of including some kind of end of season “award” section. We could have them country by country and then a global one with a golden boot, top keeper, top manager, most improved team/manager, biggest underachiever, etc…

I remember having these types of ceremonies within the in-game forums of ManagerSim (with the green background).

Questions 1+2+3

The growth system is different from MS

In RS every players gets 140 pts to grow. Goalies get 120 pts
Players get Growth Pts (GP), by accumulation Experience Pts (EP) in playing games
Friendlies: 1 EP
Home Cup: 2 EP
League: 3 EP
Europa: 3 EP (not sure)
CL: 5 EP

Usually a player needs to collect an average of 15 EP (it can be less, it can be more), to get a growth turn. In a growth turn, the player may gain 1-6 GP

For example: A player who has played 10 Friendlies + 1 League Game + 1 Domestic Cup = has 15 EP pts accumulated

The strength of the opponent and the positions you field players don’t matter

Q4
The changes come into effect next season and only for those players who join your academy next season!

PS: Players in the Academy grow have a faster growth rate than those in the first team.

1. no
2. div2 gets 10% less xp
3. friendly = friendly, offcial = offcial
4. i believe after the season, so season 30 goes in on 31 (if you get a new youth player in 31)

I have a few questions pertaining to skill growth:

1) Is there a difference between playing a computer team as opposed to a human-controlled one?

2) Is there a difference between playing a 1st division team as opposed to a 2nd division team?

3) Does the players fielded by your opponents impact growth, i.e. playing a friendly versus a 1st squad as opposed to a 2nd squad?

4) Since youth players have base skills related to the actual country (where he was spawned) UEFA points, when do those changes come in effect? For example, France in FT was 3rd as the beginning but will finish 1st at the end of the season; when would their managers actually notice an increase in the quality of their youth players? Is it progressive over a few seasons or can we already expect improvements in season 32?

I would just like to point out to everyone who cares that France did it :). We are finally the #1 team in europe after all this time. It’s something I wanted to achive for a long time. Congratulations to all the teams that did well!

In EL: AC Ajaccio, Grenoble, Nice
In CL: Auxerre, monaco and the current finalist Marseille. I say, bring hom the trophy :)

So the quarter finals went uderway in England for the FA cup.

First away game for me:

Colchester United 6 × 1 Queens Park Ranger
3-4-3 formation 4-4-2
49% possession 51%
21 shots 11
14 shots on target 9
80% accurrate passes 90%
60% effective tackles 52%
2 corners 1
2 offsides 5
16 fouls 20

The odds would be very against my team QPR for the 2nd match

The 2nd match, my home game

Colchester United 1 × 6 Queens Park Ranger
4-4-2 formation 3-4-3
57% possession 43%
30 shots 12
27 shots on target 8
89% accurrate passes 88%
65% effective tackles 48%
6 corners 2
5 offsides 2
10 fouls 19

Penalty shootout: P.K. 1 × 3

The lesson of today…NEVER GIVE UP!

No player is worth more than 65M (currently) in this game. Too many similiar quality players around. The only position that justifies maybe a special pricing is the goalkeeper imo.

I think it must be possible to put players on the transfer list for such high demands… He’s not expecting to sell him at that price. I also have some of my players on the transfer list at a somehow to high price. But that is just because when someone wants to offer the amount I will accept not because I really think he is worth that much!

It is like the minimal release fee for Cristiano Ronaldo for 1.000.000.000… Nobody will pay it but when someone will he can be sold!

What are the record transfers anyway, anybody remembers? Would be cool to know for each position.

I remember defender “Dennis Moutinho” for 155M. If i am not mistaken American Rn payed 150M for a mid back in the days also but cant remember his name.

Yes I do envy Getafe for spawning such a great player Dhimitri. But even if I had the money, I wouldn’t spend that much on 1 player since I could not afford hiring anybody else. Can’t win games by only fielding a super duper mega striker with no keeper hehehehe

well… i think real madrid’s manager should be the one explaining his case… but then since it was your team, it was obvious you would get pulled down…
anyway i will change the heading…

EDIT: i am not saying anything against anyone personally… but then it is also true other two teams will feel let down by Real madrid… These kind of matches should never go unnoticed…
