Congrats Filipe.
I can only speak well of Filipe, being an outstanding manager and great person, always willing to talk about anything in the game. Great Manager, great Person.
Looking forward to compete against you in Div1 :)

To be honoust, Spain is the place to be if you want to have a real challange in the league. Most of the “known good managers” went there :). They are all still building aswell, so you can all be “ready” at about the same time.
You can always set your coaching to 9, it will get you some mills.
Or sell a player cheaper then you actually want (if you want to survive).
Too bad, Steve. I guess it’s way of management really. First and most important thing is to check the money if the economy works, if it does not, then not much is of any use. Work the economy first then everything else.

update via twitter. “last 7 turns CPU teams bought 31 players, 4 from human-managed team”. yes, just 4! I’m going bankrupt on both games now :) lol. i wish i had kept a large wad of money in the bank and i could limp along trying to develop youth :) oh well :)
i may have no choice. since the change my money is running out so i may have to abandon the team i’ve always played with. :) Might take a break and wait until the game has developed a little more and things have settled.
Thanks for the answers :)
After 16 seasons with Manchester I think it is time for a new challenge, I’ll be leaving the team at the end of this season. I leave with the feeling of mission accomplished, won most of the domestic titles and in my opinion made Manchester one of the more consistent teams playing the CL.
I’m hoping Manchester gets a good manager (and so the reason for this post) as I think it still is the best team in England and one of the best in Europe. Many of the 24-26 players are still improving and have my full confidence in their future so the team can be fighting for every competition at least some 7, 8 seasons without much effort. In any case the 180M back account can provide an easy substitution of the older players :D
I’ll make sure to let you know the turn I’ll leave (it will depend on how well CL goes) so everyone interested in getting the team can apply.
As for me time is to start a new team from nothing (or almost), I’ll start a team in Division 1 (England), some great managers have already started teams there now so I think the time is perfect for competing with them since the very beginning of our teams…
Cheers
lets see how players get sold to cpu teams. thats what i meant :)
The Risk of getting into bankruptcy is virtually none at the moment because I balanced things so we are making around 200k-400k week now, but I manually did things to avoid it so I guess we will not find out what happens.
BK
The other manager wont know you are applying, but he knows how low his performance is so may count with that…
You can revoke your application any time in the Profile menu, if not the application will stand there until you take over the team or if the manager gets his performance higher than 10% (not sure about this one)
Hope you’re not thinking about leaving England now Division 1 is getting so many great managers :D
As much as i enjoy russian roulette virtually ;), it’s not very true to the game.
I need to clarify with a few questions :-
1) will the manager of the team you apply for know you have applied?
2) can i revoke my application if it’s been a few ticks and nothing has happened or will i just take over at 1%, which could possibly be 2 seasons time?
thanks again for the insight. I’m tempted to do this to take over a team i have connections with ;)
Well, let’s see what happens with Berhan K team. It will be interesting for sure. On the Medium tick, i tried to sell a young player for about 400K as opposed to 3Mil and even he isnt going anywhere. I hope it’s not broke. Maybe we start a thread asking what players have gone to CPU in the last half of the season?
Great advice Filipe, thanks.
The whole idea with firing players, even though a bit stupid, is to free up the space, not that I need it but I would eventually need to replace the whole team. I guess I am a bit impatient to make the changes slower and go instead a bit too fast forward.
We’ll, see, it looks possible still. :)
BK
Shawn, those guys were listed when I joined and I am guessing because of the economy, it really sucks when you take over a club and see them bleeding each week and now I am on a mission to avoid bankruptcy but it’s part of the game, and fun too.
Whether it should be like that or not is a question of game features really. I think it would be weird though that players being taken of the transferlist just because a human manager takes over a club. It’s his job to go through who stays and who goes.
BK
Berhan you should try to lower the prices as much as the board let you, I hope CPU teams will still buy old players if they are almost for free. You would have the space on the team and you wouldn’t need to lose money firing the players.
About this new CPU teams we have to wait and see as Gabriel said but for now it seems they went from buying everything to nothing…
Wouldn’t be wise that the “chairman” loans the club say 10M for running costs, not allowing any transfers for that money and then slowly getting it back as you progress?
What about, KNOWING the financial situation of the club before joining (applying for the job)?
Maybe not exactly the amount but whereabouts in an economic scale, like, rich, normal, poor, etc..
BK
I think that was in the early years of Rubysoccer. Gabriel “fixed” this, because of the fact you were able to abuse “selling” players like this. I thought now you would just get fired after coaching lvl is 0 and you still lose money.
Managing the stamina is part of the game, maybe that’s why the bigger teams have more players (some sort of B team). If a players get’s 97 or lower the stats will reduce for that game.
Just a tip :D
Dirk, it’s 35min.
When you reach 0m the board will put your coaching lvl down to get money back. When that is 0 then it will delete a player and you’ll get the value of the player in M (don’t know 100% if this option is still in the game).
in my case it would be Donkeys indeed!! :)
I sell because I had only 2M when I took over the team, not sure what happens when money reach 0.
When I took over some of the retiring players were on sale so I do not touch those. I think Computer controlled teams can Transfer list their retiring players. Now I doubt anyone will buy those but you never know.
I wish there was an option where you start “drafting” from local smaller teams (or a club’s B team) so you can within a short amount of time renew the team.
BK
Or maybe make it so that you can only sell a retiring player at minimum price?
It’s fine if the player is transfer listed before announcing retirement…maybe we should change this rule and remove the player from TL when he announces it.
how about selling Donkeys ;)
well, this will be a perfect experiment. You are the manager of Blackpool with 11 players for sale, so let’s see how many you sell to CPU teams. review in one week i think.
p.s. interesting how you are selling 2 retired players. Sure that isn’t allowed or were they already for sale when you joined the club – bug ?
It’s hard for loaned players. You can start to substitute them. They only have to play 55 min I guess. (Or was it 35 min. Not sure. Gabriel?) This way they don’t loose 3 stamina every turn.
Gabriel,
We can see retiring players for sale by human managers, is that not supposed to be blocked ?
For example in Fastticker at Blackpool (sorry BK, I have nothing against you ;) look at James Hoyles and Scott Beeney
Yeah, why does the game (computer controlled teams) not buy 200 players/season from one club per season? Something is wrong no?
Excellent this, good for all cowboys to realize this is not farmville but football management game and the players are players and not cows for you to trade like livestock.
Maybe computer teams stopped buying crap players from some teams, that would be great if that is the case.
If you have good players and fair prices, you will sell. Problem could be there are too many good players so people are aiming for the very best players as much as possible, and that could be for having too much money to spend.
BK
Time to introduce doping to the game?
Instructing Physio to give the player some pills form the player page? :)
BK
It seems like the stamina have a huge influence now, and i for one dont like the way it drops super fast and raises super slow. I bought a player with 4 in stamina and now 30 turns later he is 60 in stamina, thats something like 10 weeks to get little over half rested, why should it take so long?
Its also a problem with loaned players, with a max of 3 missed games, they are to play in the league, cup and euro so they will drop below 75 easily and thereby get a massive drop in quality and you cant rest them, because you then lose your player, and again it takes ages to get them from 75 to 100.
Just my 5 cents, i hope it makes sense.
/Jakob
no one has money to buy them…because we cant sell our own players anymore ;)
i still got players for sale btw :). That was kinda my very bad intention here :)…. HAVE A LOOK!!!
