Hi guys
It seems there is a small display bug causing the match result eg. (4 × 1) being displayed on top each other instead of in the same line. Nothing much but it is not pretty to look at.

Hi Ulisses
I must be doing something wrong. Every time I change the 0 to my team number 297 the custom columns disappear. By the way the script is great and I use it all the time – great way to isolate the important atributes.
But any help with getting it to work with the “own team number” would be appreciated.
EDIT: Seems the problem was beacause of the text editor I used. It’s working now. :-)
Shameful low prices at Napoli. 30-old stars with crazy stats available for knock-down prices. Take a look at

When i change the 0 to my own team number the script stops working, why?
Big player sale at Napoli. Several players with 90+ in primary skill for sale. Take a look and make your bid. Prices are negotiable. http://www.rubysoccer.com/game/team_players/297
Indeed Alberto Chaves is a fantastic player. But I think perhaps there are a lot of good candidates for the “best player” award. Take my own midfielder Gabriele Meniconi from Napoli:
483 official matches, 51 goals and an total average of 9.64. He has been awared MoM 132 times. There must be other great candidates for the prestigeous title :-)
Extremely promising midfielder 21-years old available for loan at Napoli. If coaching demand is to high write me a mail ingame.

That’s right – I was trying to send an email alias. I’ll remember the trick next time…
RubySoccer System Error
Oops! It looks like there was an error. Please try again (this may be related to a server restart / high load).
It has been displayed 5 times in a row without other issues when browsing the game.
Hi everybody,
I was wondering if anyone has made some sort of excel template or similar to make player development easier to monitor. It would be greatly appreciated. :-)
Kind regards
Alexander
I don’t know if this has been brought up earlier, but players with last names like “de Tafoya” and “Di Magno” is listed in formation screen only as the “de” or “di” part. Perhaps the whole name could be displayed? This is a minor bug and should of course be treated as such.
Kind regards
Alexander
Super. Didn’t know it was already on the program, but that’s just great. Look forward to see it implemented.
I think it would be a great addition to be able to view this season total income and expenses. It would give a better impression of how things are running. Furthermore by including the last couple of seasons total you can easily get an overview of the clubs economic progress.
Lots of good players available for loan at Napoli. All with potential to develop further. Stats in early to mid 80’s. Take a look at:

Napoli will be fighting for the title after several seasons of misery. No more I say, no more… :-D Best of luck guys in upcoming season. Fantastic to see that the italian league is so strong!
I can totally relate to the fact that price level is different from what itused to be. But 28 mill for that kind of quality is simply down right wacky in my opinion, and a bit suspicious i you ask me. I don’t scan the market looking for suspicious transactions, but when I saw this trasnfer I needed others to look at it as well. If there is no reason to suspect any ilegal business has been going on I’m ok with that.
Hi
I stumbled upon a tansfer I found very weird indeed:
Rodney Couto transfers from CRB to Fortaleza in season 24 turn 72 for the bargain of 28,3 mill. It could of course be part of an unknown deal? I don’t know but it seems like a very high number.
Kind regards

Hi Gabriel and others
It seems that it influences team performance negatively if you change the line-up. Is this really the case or is it just a random observation?

Hi Gabriel,
Same issue with my player Sagripanti – can something like this be done in this situation?
Kind regards
Alexander
8 young players all with potential to grow is available for loan. Main skills ranging from mid 70’s to mid 80’s. Take a look at Napoli. http://www.rubysoccer.com/game/team_players/297

I too is from the MS generation where I played many seasons aswell. As I recall there was more or less the same problem that some tactics simply didn’t work against others. So this isn’t really a new thing. Perhaps it’s just an illustration of how difficult it is to create a working match engine? I don’t know I don’t posses programming skills. As an answer to your post I do not say that the superior team should win 9 out of 10 against the weaker team. What I do say is, that the weaker team shouldn’t be able to beat the stronger team 9 out of 10 because they use a 4-4-2 instead of a 3-5-2. That simply isn’t realistic in my oppinion.
And to you Hank: Even though one doesn’t master the fine art of cooking, buying the best quality of food to work with sure gets you a long way down the road.
> Dhimitri: I’d prefer my name not being in the same phrase as newbie. I get this annoying itch in the back of my head when I read this. I you had taken the time to look at my previous posts and look at the team in Napoli you would see that I value secondary stats as much as any in this game!
To continue the current debate I can only say that there are apparently two kinds of managers here: those who likes the player-dimension and those who like the tactical game. My oppinion of the matter is much in line with JakobK. If you can manage to beat a team superior in all aspects, on all positions – that being both primary AND secondary skills – 9 out of 10 games, then it is a bug and not because you are a tactical god. I rest my case.
I totally agree, it would be a great addition to be able to allow highest bidder to negotiate alone. It would benefit selling part by means of an increased transferprice and benefit buying part by means of making sure they get the player and avoid having to pay those ridiculous high wages.
Hank, my intention was not to downplay what you have achieved with PSG. You are absolutely right that it can’t be, that you are “lucky” every time. Of course not. But I admit that I’ve become a bit resigned by the fact that the tactics department apparently has so much influence in deciding match outcome. To continue on your “real world analogy” – yes sometimes the big teams with great players are knocked out by minnows. But imho I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it’s more or less the same teams competing in the final stages of CL every year. It’s because these teams posseses the best players, not because the field a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 or have certain running patterns ingame. That’s my opinion and I accept that others might feel different. But it’s my impression that there are others out there that might feel something is off too.
Hi guys
First of all, I’m sorry if you consider less of me because I only post players main atributes in the post :-) I agree with you totally on the fact, that you can’t asses a player only on his primary skill. No doubts there. But I must agree with Philipp that the game result must be depicted in some way in the match reports which are totally off some times.
Sylvain, you mention that you guys have found out a tactic that works. That’s great, but I have my reservations against tactics being the most important aspect of this game. I understand that there can be different opinions on the matter.
I can relate to the fact that quality doesn’t equal succes – but there has to be some kind of logic here. My intention is not to sound bitter over some CL results – even though I know that’s probably what it looks like. I would just love to see a game engine you can relate to.
Hi Gabriel and Danilo.
Something has to be done with the match engine. It is simply too random. I accept that every team can have an off day once in a while and loose to a team of inferior quality but as a whole, squad skill should have a big thing to say in deciding match result. I will bring two examples from recent CL matches.
PSG – Napoli 1 – 0
PSG – Bayern Munchen 2 – 0
According to a quick glance at the PSG team, the ideal formation playing a 4-4-2 formation would give something like:
95
85 84 84 83
85 85 86 99
87 86
The line-up I can field in Napoli is much stronger than this, and the best 11 in Bayern Munchen is even better. My point is that there must be some kind of bug in the way the system works out the results. Anyway the random factor is simply to big – and it’s ruining the game in my oppinion :-(
Kind regards
Alexander
Hi Gabriel,
The transfers displaying 0 turns left all went through, so a “job well done” is in place. Thanks for fixing the system.
Why does transfers doesn’t go through even though “the clock” is run out? I know there is a three tick delay before a transfer can go through, but even though no turns is left, nothing happens. There is no message that the player demands a higer wage or nothing. What is going on?
Should you choose to use your defender as goalie he will have a 3 skill penalty. That would mean that the end result would be: (((47 * 0,6) + (76 * 0,4)) * 78) / 100 = 45,70800
I must admit I still have some issues with the new way players develop. I simply think it takes to long time to see any changes. I think it sounds reasonable that players shouldn’t peak at age 21-22, but it shouldn’t take so many experience point in order to grow. I will refer to my own player Davide Brollo (again): He has played a total of 108 matches 11 of these has been official games. He may or may not have star potential, but he does not grow. It’s like time stands still with this guy. I generally like the idea of a skill pool with 10-20% percent being released every season, but if you can’t get the players to improve even with a coaching level of 10 and a heck of games something is wrong.
