As far as i know, the formula for calculating keepers efficiency is
(keeping X 0.6 + speed X 0.4) X dribling / 100”.

I have two players with the following skills. One of them is goalkeeper and another is a defender

Name———————-Pos—-Sde—-Age—-Kpg—-Tac—-Pas—-Sho—-Spe—-Dri—-Ctr—-Hea—-Agg—-Wage——-Value
Mattia Belcore——-G——-NA——24——-89——-41——74——30——-79——-81——76——80——46——$6,830——$6,560,961
Lorenzo Vezzosi—-D——-LC——22——-50——-85——75——79——-96——-100—-81——93——100—-$13,882—-$30,932,731

Using the above formula, the ultimate skill for My goalkeeper has the final value of 68.85, whereas my defender has a final value of 68.4
Since that value is not of huge difference, can i interchange both for the goalkeeping position???

Should you choose to use your defender as goalie he will have a 3 skill penalty. That would mean that the end result would be: (((47 * 0,6) + (76 * 0,4)) * 78) / 100 = 45,70800

dribbling is only for 1-on-1 situations, isn’t it ?

ahh, alexander, thank u… i had missed that point :)…

alban, i am not sure if it is on 1-on-1 situations, as it is not clearly mentioned. the text just says goalkeepers will use this formulae from now onwards…

Alban is right, dribbling is just for 1 on 1 situations…to be more specific, dribbling is only used if your formation has no defenders on mentalities 0 and -1, or if all your defenders on those mentalities have individual tactics to move forward on either defense or offense. Otherwise the dribbling is not taken in consideration. So there are two formulas:
(keeping x 0.6 + speed x 0.4) [x dribbling / 100, optionally] for shots
(keeping x 0.6 + header x 0.4) [x dribbling / 100, optionally] for headers

Hi…

Reading your comments, I’ve got curious too.
Where could I find the formulas for the other positions.

The other positions don’t have a straightforward formula, other players use all their skills (except keeping) on different situations. The game help contains a quick explanation for each one of them: http://www.rubysoccer.com/mediawiki/index.php/Players_Skills
