the better your players main stat + sec stats are, the better the player is and will play.

don’t give sly more feathers in his butt! We need to take some out tbh!!! He told me that there was a similar game to SM so i started to..look how i ended up again..a damm addict..
.
To bad i couldn’t meet sly in the semi-final due to 2 suckouts vs CPU nice…(cough). Weird score, but i have to say to sly..desirved.
.
Atleast we have a nice league table atm…let’s see who will win it this year!

he can’t sell, because only a few teams in the game have that kind of cash and they already have great strikers :)

Thanks

My question was really about whether I should worry more about the average rating or the skill stats…although I didn’t make it very clear ;)

it was somewhere that just players with best shooting. Now imagine that usually we have 2 strikers and then all other players have 85 or even less shooting.

I think the chance to score from a penalty should be increased. Or clubs with midfielders or defenders with high shooting will have too much advantage. I mean, in real life ANY player can score and ANY player can miss a penalty =)

@ Gabriel

Amaral was one of the fisrt 100M+ transfers =)
But I got Prado for cheap (Madruga + 40M)

I wonder what will be the price for such strikers nowadays…Anyway, Blackpool can’t sell Carrasqeira for 200M

why isnt José Andrade on my list, hmm … sure he’s top 3.

i remember Boucquet when he was young, 10-15 seasons ago, one of the first 90+ strikers in the game. tried to buy him backthan, missed.

We need to be able to select the penalty kickers for penalties after 120 min ourself for instance. And I want to see which players score or miss a penaltykick like in the normal 90 min match engine.

These ratings are still somewhat unrealistic in a few matches, but they’ve been recently improved. I guess it requires a deeper analysis of the match to give better numbers. We’ll have to work on it again in the future.

I prefer Filipe’s list, at least there José Andrade figures in second ;)
Why did I sell Felipe Amaral? Imagine what an attack I’d have if I stil had him :(

Hi All

Having been a manager for almost a whole season now, I was wondering how important the average marks out of ten are.

I have seen games where my players all have high ratings, but we are comfortably beaten and the opposite (some low ratings, but creating lots of chances and winning).

I’ve been trying to work this out for myself, but I’m no nearer to doing so.

Lately I have been putting more importance to average rating than player skills, but I’m not sure that this is working well.

Thanks

My top3:
1 – Alberto Chaves (Santo André)
2 – José Andrade (Flamengo)
3 – Salvatore Vidal Del Ojo( Atletico Madrid)

Also an old portuguese league legend… Patrick Bocquet, still scoring many goals in Argentina with his 36 years old… a total of 655 goals in 735 matches…

Thanks for the congratulations. I know it’s a little overkill to score 7 out of 16 shots. Ironically I tried to rest some players in the league the tick before and I tie vs the cpu!
.
I really enjoy Rubysoccer and I think I can speak freely in saying I have managed to get a pretty decent squad going. With a team who was in relegations zone and had no money or decent players. I started enjoying ruby quite fast and set “a mission” for myself. I was dead set on getting “france on the map”. Brought in friends who later got referred to as “The rat Pack”. We were set on shaking up things when it came to CL and UEFA cup. France jumped from 6th to 3rd position in the country ranking. I think i should be able to say that it is greatly thanks to me :).
.
It’s nice to see the competition get stronger and stronger though. England is getting stronger and also the avarage level of play in france is increasing. I got twice as much losses already then i did the entire last season :(…..gonna be hard to win the leage a 3rd year in a row.
.
Goodluck to everyone in france!!……Let’s see if Luc can hold on to that #1 spot :)

Alban
I am sinere with m praise for sly, we communicate a lot via skype. We even laughed and joked the night before on what we were going to play. He deserves all the accolades as i have stated as its people like him that grow the community and make this game so much fun as he likes to communicate and share his knowledge. He does not play for sheep stations!

well done again mate

as for my striker, blame sly he pointed him in my direction as i was void of a keeper and a striker as I build Monaco from scratch.

I am sure you guys have enough great players. Thes frogs do not seem to grow much home grown talent. You definetly need better players in this game as opposed to SS/MS but then that makes a challenge in itself.

cheers Luc

we could have a different shooting options for each players ( or one each for strikers, midfielders and defenders) rather than one shooting orders for the whole team.

But i think the best option would be to have different options best on the field position

  • Any players on A1 and A0 field position could do with short/medium range shots
  • Players on A-1 to M1 could do with Medium/Long range shots
  • Players beyond that position could use Long range shots.

And the first and foremost thing, i think we should not set these orders. These should be there by default. But only in case if any manager wants to try something different he should be able to change this. ( i think that is what happens generally)

I agree with Dhimitri that midfielders should shoot from long distance and strikers from medium and short.

number of shots can be combined with range of shots and shooting skill quality

number of shots x shot distance x shot skill = 0.XXX

Also, a good idea IMO would be to add a separate option for midfielders taking shots (usually long range) such as: Strikers shot from short/medium range and midfielders/defenders take long shots. It should give a tactical advantage/alternative for teams with good shot takers not in the striking department

The big difference with Managersim is that in Ruby there are tons and tons of great players. In Eurotest in Msim I knew the best attackers in the game from hart. So did most active players. Man U had his Machado, Middlesbrough had his Pimental and I even forgot 1 name. Barca had an english striker who managed to score 750 goals in his carreer :)
.
Now, to keep this forum intresting, let’s paste some names of certain players who are just out of this world :). There are just so many great players. I’m wondering if the good teams in here even know some of the attackers that will be mentioned :)I’LL START!

This is possible. We have more and more strong clubs here and looking at the match stats those ties were well deserved. Cup finals are played on neutral fields and give no +3 advantage to home side players’ attributes. That is why we watch “fair battles” =)

Congratulations to Sylvain !

Well, Luc, everything was fine till the 14th minute =))

My team managed to score 4 goals from 5 shots against Parana not long ago and in the start of the season I was smashed by Atletico-MG 0-3. That’s just a cool FREE game, like you said, but it is also a very good game due to its constant development ! As for me, I don’t think it is quite common in real life to win a cup final 7-1, but I also understand that it CAN happen. Score 7 goals out of 16 tries ? WHy not =) Hehe, just sometimes we score 0 out of 30 =)

Don’t get too upset, you have a great attacker whom I also wanted to buy but my squad was full already =) Soares will become better and better and you will win everything thanks to him !

Firstly congratulations is in order for my Dutch friend from down under. This is why the socceroos will never win, we suffer stage fright. LOL

I am embarrassed, never have experienced such a HEAVY defeat. The irony is it was the same tactic i played sly in our league game, which i won 2-0. Out played and managed by a passionate rubysoccer manager who puts his heart and mind into analysing and enjoying this great FREE game. Not to mention he helps to inspire and motivate others around him. Well done mate. I will go and cry in a corner. Next season maybe 3rd time lucky final appearance you will let me win. LOL

First of all, I think that all players before at least 30 should recover equally. I think so because younger players usually spend more time on training to develop skills, so younger train more and thus players at 27 or 28 should not get totally exhausted after 12 league games ! In fact, I would add 1 more stamina point every tick for all players and make them tire only at the end of the season and if you participate in international cups.
