The whole economy model needs to be reviewed to make sure the economy stays balanced and with the amount of money available in the game not growing as fast as it is now. There will always be a few rich teams, of course, but we the situation is a little bit out of control now regarding money flow.
That said, you guys can feel free to discuss the ticket prices in our new economy model to be delivered not before next year probably. By the way, if you think it would be cool to be able to set your own ticket prices (given it influences the match attendance) also post it here. That was our original idea, but we didn’t have time to work on it properly so we simply fixed the prices at 10.
It can happen, specially when the player received cards and did bad overall. The rating system will be improved when the match engine enhancements are delivered.
Looks like he just missed the renewal…let’s keep an eye anyway.
Whenever there is a cheater identified causing a manager to be fired, players to be rollbacked, etc, we’ll inform on this topic.
Cheaters are not welcome in this game and I appreciate everybody’s help in trying to find them. Almost every day we receive information about suspicious managers and we do our best to investigate them. Even though it costs us precious development time we feel it is a good thing for the game to get rid of as many cheaters as we can. No matter what we do, there will always be someone trying to cheat.
That said, we will not tolerate accusations here in the forums anymore. If you think someone is cheating please contact us in-game, using IM, in person or sending an email to admins at rubysoccer dot com. We don’t need people fighting here in the forums, we are all here to have fun.

Ja punimos muitos cheaters, quase diariamente temos investigacoes a fazer que consomem nosso tempo precioso que poderia estar sendo usado para fazer melhorias. Não permitiremos mais acusacoes mutuas no forum, se acha que alguem esta trapaceando basta falar comigo ou com o Danilo. Vou fazer um anuncio em ingles a respeito disso.
O unico ponto contra que vejo são treinadores que realmente abandonaram o jogo continuarem a comandar times que outros gostariam de comandar. Mas vale a pena discutir esse assunto.

Don’t judge people so fast, Cleithon. What is likely is that Filpo Carina Antunes is cheating, lots of manager have taken advantage of players this user fired or let go, not only Benfica. That’s why we need to investigate it better.

So many posts since I rolled back the transaction and fired the manager! I’m glad you guys figured most of this out. The previous Barca manager was fired but no connection was proved with Blackpool’s manager, the rollback was only made cause the manager who fired the players was considered a cheater. The new manager is not in the same network as the previous one, which doesn’t mean he is not the same person. It would be great if you guys let us know when you see such free players. Don’t worry, we will only do rollbacks if the manager is cheating, not if he forgot to renew the contract or something like that. To not lose the opporunity of hiring the player if no cheating is proved you can send us an in-game message instead of posting on the forums. The sooner we get the cheater the better ;)

I had a drunk goalkeeper in the match before the last in the league…conceded 9 goals!!! The answer is simple, we really need to hurry with the match engine enhancements :P
I don’t like the idea of making a 3 turns waiting period again, people could use that to postpone negotiations forever :D

About the world cup, you’re welcome! Not sure which one to pick first, match engine or world cup…match engine sounds more important as it affects everybody…enough, let’s not change the subject here.

I don’t think it’s in our help yet, I’ll make sure it’s added there. Short: 10, Medium: 15, Long: 20. The unit of measure is “game field squares”…our field is 81 × 45 squares ;)
The shooting distance tactic works exactly as your option 3: anywhere within X meters.
@Sly: We plan to split the hiring process in two phases for transfer listed players – price negotiation and wage negotiation. Currently we allow all teams bidding the asking price or more to negotiate, but we don’t let the higher bid negotiate alone (also you always pay the transfer price even if your bid was higher). The higher bid is only an incentive for the selling team to raise the player price. Anyway, what I want to say is that if we allow the higher bid to negotiate alone people could start raising their bids in the last minute in order to be the only one negotiating wages. It’s a hard problem to solve :D
Maybe there are too many reasonable players on free market or maybe too many managers are out there just waiting for a good player to be fired/released. There has been suggestions to allow a team to have more than 30 players or have less youths or reduce the time a player is available in the free market before disappearing from the game. We will end up doing some of these when we review the economy model.
Age is an important factor. Older players tend to get injured more often.
You’re absolutely right! Let me include the economy as a third enhancement. I won’t promise all 3 for this year though (even though it would be fantastic if we could do that).
We have an enhancement planned where a player renewing contract would take his teammates wages in consideration in order to decide how much he thinks is fair. This would make things harder for teams hiring players with such high wages.

@ChrisP: I understand what you’re saying, but if you have plenty of money to spend why not lose 300k a week in order to afford high departments or high wages?
Economy needs improvements, that’s for sure. I will consider it the third big enhancement to do next (along with match engine and world cup with clubes).
No more manual updates for players estimated values. All players will have their values updated at least once every 36 turns.

You have all the reasons to feel cheated, DaMaGo. I apologize for not having the world cup yet. In my defense all I have to say is that I haven’t spent time (cause I couldn’t find enough) working in any big feature for a while (the new layout doesn’t count, most of the work was done by Fernando).
I’m not a politician but I’ll make 2 promises for this year:
- world cup with clubs
- match engine enhancements
