Ah, that’s a separate (but related) topic :-)
So the player class is based on some crazy game formulas to calculate the player “strength” as a single number. Using that number only, players are graded between A and F. Players who get stars (our previous topic), receive an artificial “bonus” added to the calculated strength, which may cause their total to exceed the maximum calculated strength in the dimension. The way we represent that in the game is using the S class.
That is only an indication of player “quality”, the class does not influence player performance in the field. As a practical example, if two players had the exact same skills, one A and one S due to stars, and played in the same position in the field, one would not have higher chances of performing well over the other.
Oh, and country ranking plays not part in player class either.
CPU teams will stop making offers for players whose transfer price is more than 10% above their base values. The exact base value for a player is not disclosed, but the estimated value should be a reasonable approximation in most cases, the only exceptions being right after a player is transferred or when the season changes and the player class changes with it.
Golden stars are the only ones I remember the exact number:
1st and 2nd get 5 golden stars
3rd and 4th get 4 golden stars
…
9th and 10th get 1 golden star
For the silver and bronze I’d have to check…all I mean to say is that one team from a country may be accumulating more stars than the others, whereas in other countries more teams get stars, in a more even distribution (not by design, but based on the players performance of course).
You can give me the exact team if you’re curious to know more details, but my guess would be that this particular team is accumulating more stars in that country and leaving less for the others teams over there, whereas in your country the stars are being more evenly distributed across the teams. So even if that country has less stars overall it is possible that a particular team from there has more stars than any one team in your country.
The list of players in the hall of fame now includes the team logo beside the player name for the team where he spent most of his career.
Happy to do that change based on the links you’ve sent, Dimitri. We know that we may have sourced some team names from places that don’t use the most usual name for the teams, not to mention the fact that we have some teams in the game that don’t exist anymore :-)
Thanks for the tip.
The lists for top scorers, top assists and average rating in the competition statistics screen can now be expanded to display 50 or 100 records, similar to what has been done to the player’s hall of fame lists.
The average rating table in the competition statistics screen will now exclude players that have not played at least 3 matches in that competition. When no players have played 3 matches yet the table will still include all players as it is today.
He was suspended. I see he’s got a yellow card in the previous league match and the player cards screen does not show a yellow for him, which means he was suspended in your 0-4 match.
I see all 11 players in the report and the replay…who is missing?
In the player’s Hall of Fame you can now expand the record lists to display 50 or 100 records each, in addition to the standard 10.
No, there was no change. We are aware of the issue, emails have been going to spam (at least on my gmail) but we haven’t find the cause yet.
New players will not have to play for national squad or be man of the match to improve at any point in their careers. Existing players may still require one of those things towards the end of their improvement, as usual. Manager have little to no control of how to complete those two types of improvement, hence the decision to take them out of the game.
There were also some tweaks in the order some of the improvement requirements appear. We have brought forward the “play abroad” requirement, swapping with the play international cup ones. Similarly, this is valid only for new players.
The calculation of the new team strength during the season tick has been modified. The old formula included all the players a team owns (even if loaned out) plus any players currently in the team from loan. The new formula will exclude the loaned in players and only consider the players a team owns (even if loaned out, as before).
This depends on the window size/resolution. Even if you open a browser window with the usual layout, once you resize that window and make it smaller you will then get the mobile version.
If you are restricted to a certain window size or resolution in your laptop then there is not much you can do unfortunately as the transition to the mobile style interface is automatic and coded into the game.
We have new rules in place for removing a player from the transfer list or changing the transfer parameters. Those two actions cannot be performed if there is a transfer proposal for the player from a human-managed team that satisfies the transfer price. However, if the player rejects the wage offer in that proposal then those restrictions do not apply and you are again free to cancel the transfer or change the parameters.
The rules for applying to class A and B teams have been relaxed. Managers who have won the Club World Cup at least once in their careers can apply to any team and managers who have won a top tier international cup (CL, Libertadores or CCL) can apply to B teams or lower.
In summary:
TestTicker’s exclusive feature of restricting the teams you can apply for has been rolled out to FastTicker and MediumTicker. That means you will only be able to apply for teams of class C or lower while unemployed, you can only apply for higher class teams if you are already managing a higher class team (e.g. you took your initially D team to class B, so now you can apply to other teams up to B class).
In the players hall of fame you can now click on a player’s name to go to a new screen with additional details for the player. It includes some general information (name, nationality, position), career information (starting season, club, longest stint, etc), awards and statistics for club, national squad and combined.
This is a hot topic I’d say. I’ve heard similar suggestions before, but essentially you are asking non-managed teams to prioritise developing players from human-managed teams instead of using what they have best or developing their own :-)
Class E and F teams are the ones which will look into loans first and pick the best players available for loan that they think would be part of their first 11. For example, they wouldn’t loan a GK from you if theirs was better in their view or they wouldn’t loan an attacker if they had 2-3 better than the ones you’re offering for loan.
Teams with class A to D will also loan players, but they tend to prioritise buying players. If they don’t find or can’t afford what they’re looking for then they will look into loans. We need to be careful in tweaking that so we don’t end up with a better loan market but worse transfer market, if that makes sense.
There is a new section in our Hall of Fame for player records. The World Team of the Season history has been moved to a new tab called Awards and the Players tab now shows information of retired players. At the moment the following records are captured when a player retires and displayed here:
For now only the top 10 players in each category are displayed, but soon you will be able to view additional players for each category as well click the player name to view more details about the player.
Congrats mate! I can see you have worthy opposition in the league ;-)
Yeah, they have been experimenting with some weird formations lately. They are coded to try to adapt and vary their formations, but there are not many smarts about it so things like this can happen every now and then.
Bug fixed: the “Welcome to our club” message will once again be sent to managers when their job applications to a team or national squad are accepted during the tick.
Bug fixed: man of the match evolution step can no longer be completed in friendly matches.
Bug fixed: when filtering by international matches in the team matches screen you can now see North American continental competitions. This filter was also simplified to not contain the specific competitions names such as Champions League, Libertadores, etc.
Bug fixed: draws for North American international competitions now take into account the teams’ countries in order to avoid same country matches as far as possible.
Bug fixed: when viewing international cup titles by country the totals now include all teams, including inactive ones.
Thanks for the feedback Dimitri, always useful to know things like that! I still use my own google sheet to keep track of my players…lol
The existing points system for the country ranking does not work for TestTicker in its current format where the competitions are shorter, especially the North American ones. For now I’ve manually fixed the points from season 1 using a new formula that I am planning to automatically apply from season 2 onwards. It awards a team points based on the class of the opponents it defeated or tied with in international competitions, even including the Club World Cup which is ignored by the formula currently in place. If all goes well the new formula may prove to be useful even for FastTicker and MediumTicker in the future.
