I agree with everything Gabriel wrote in the topic and in this kind of forums some censorship is always needed. I just hope you guys wont be cutting every word that could or may or would lead to another discussion…

I understand I didn’t need mention what I mentioned in the post but still I should not be censored because what I say may be taken bad by a person who has no notion of basic educated conversation. My understanding is that you guys removed what I wrote not because it was offensive but because it could (depending on how much unstable he was at the moment) lead to offensive comets by the other person, that IMO is not good use of censorship.

I am not trying to convince them to aswer e-mails Berkan. I merely confirmed vaughn his point and I understand his frustation. I realize I could have kept this information to myself, seeing it benefits nobody :). Just wanted to state the obvious, with no real concequence intended :). Off course I was not assuming that “he who does not read mails” would suddenly read this and think to himself “oh my god….he’s talking about me, i better start answering my e-mails!!”

btw, what is wrong with the in-game search function?

if the issue is managers not answering you in-game mails, what makes you think they will read this exactly post in this forum and start trading? :)

No, seriously I would like to know how you did think there?

Dimitri, maybe you’re right in the youngers issue, but in my case I like Danish teams. I have good memmories of Odense, Kobenhavn, Aalborg, Arhus, Lyngby… good matches memmories. And Lyngby has a viking as team logo :D

You see me as a fugitive because of this change, but I see it as a chance to create a team from the beginning and to learn this game system in an easier way. For me, my last team required a higher level as manager from me. I don’t know if I’m explaing correctly, but obviously it’s easier to create team and manage in this new Denmark than in other leagues.

And, maybe, I hadnot so will to go to Greece or Turkey because… because yes. Simply I preferred to go to viking lands hehehe

I can confirm this. I send out tons of e-mails. With nice kind words and request. Sometimes with suggested offers. Alot….and I meen ALOT of managers don’t even simply answer “No not intrested”. They simply don’t answer. I understand not all managers are as active as others, but I consider it very rude to not just answer someones e-mail.

It’s just common sense, but it’s good to have something we can refer to and update if necessary.

RubySoccer forums are open to all users to discuss, comment, give suggestions, constructively criticize the game or just chat about it. Administrators and forum moderators exist to make sure posts are not offensive, malicious or unrelated to the purpose of these forums and that topics don’t digress too much from their original subject.

The key rule is common sense. If you want to denounce a possible cheater you are welcome to do so in a non-offensive way. Do not use the forums to resolve personal matters. If you have a problem with someone in particular you should contact one of the administrators or game masters and explain the situation.

Topics and posts found not to be in accordance with the common sense rules expressed above can and probably will be deleted without warning. Offenders may face punishment(s), which may include one or more of the following: dismissal from your current team(s), temporary or permanent ban and other restrictions. The decision will be left at the discretion of the administrators and game masters.

If you need a certain amount of players from your own country, alot of managers will just join a team that is in a high ranked country. Which will result in alot of empty country that are lower ranked. We already have a system for youth development, this should be enough.

I still find the idea interesting that having home country players matters. For example, to have a minimum amount of home country players in your squad.

Does it make the game more realistic? More or less. There are teams in real life that (sometimes) play with only foreign players (in the English league for example). However, a lot of leagues do have rules about it. Also one might argue that fans like to see (at least some) players from their own country in their favourite team.

A more important question: does it make the game more interesting and/or more fun? Not sure, but I think it might. It gives an extra dimension to creating a good team and a bonus for developing your own youth players.

There are disadvantages: it can be an extra handicap for teams from weak countries (while for Brazilian of French teams it’s no problem at all). Also one can just add five weak players to the squad who never play just to follow the rules.

As Gabriel points out, there are other options. One that he doesn’t mention having home country players attract more sponsors and/or more fans. Seems plausible from a realistic point of view, and probably also fun-enhancing: it’s a possibility to earn a bonus. In this case I suggest the bonus for teams in the weaker countries is a little more than for Brazil and France.
