I hear you guys. I’ll give some thought to both options proposed (youth/reserve league and an alternative way to improve player development via investment). I think it’s worth it to find some balance between the old model (too easy) and the new one (hard most of the time).
Yep…bug is fixed, need to manually run remaining of tick in a few mins.
Crash in FT?
Must admit I’m quite happy that the need to manually arrange scores of friendly games has been eliminated. The idea of introducing a youth/reserve league could be interesting because currently it’s simply to difficult to develop young players. Perhaps the number of experience points/match could depend on the level of facilities. A couple of new levels in player development could replace the single: ‘Needs official games’. Could be something like: ‘needs match practice’, ‘needs senior matches’, ‘needs to play for 1. div.’
But friendlies are not desired anymore.
Friendlies should improve players …
I played pretty much my youth team for 2 seasons in the fast ticker, none of them really improved, we got relegated then finished bottom of the league and I was fired. Seems almost impossible to improve youths to a playable level, even if given first team experience for 2 seasons. There didn’t seem to be any correlation I could see between playing first team football and not playing first team football.
We have just introduced the concept of negotiation priority for players. Each player will have a priority and take that into account when evaluating transfer offers. This replaces and enhances the broken “first team chance” they used to consider along with the wage (which is still a factor).
You can find more details in the game manual, player contract section. In summary there are two main differences. The first one is that when your team looks bad in terms of the player’s priority he may reject a transfer offer or, in case of renewal, ask for a higher wage (a message will be displayed when that’s the case and the suggested wage for renewal takes that into account). The second one is that a transfer offer may become a priority offer if the team is very well placed in terms of player priority. During offer comparison the player looks at priority offers first before even considering others, so a “normal” acceptable wage priority offer on its own will beat any wage in other offers.
Your Negotiations investment area has just become more important as the player priority may be revealed in the contract offer screen depending on your negotiations level. When you reveal a player’s priority you can also see which transfer offers are priority offers in the current negotiations section of the player info screen.
If this works well we will enchance the player status logic to consider the player negotiation priority when evaliating non-listed offers, but that’s a separate future discussion to be had.
Wouldn’t that make developing players too easy again? Some kind of youth league/tournament has been requested before and we haven’t discarded the idea, it just needs time to design and develop properly.
What we need is a proper youth league, that way we wouldnt need to loan out players. Either that or some sort of youth tournament that managers cud join at the begining of the season.
They haven’t stopped, but they give priority to hiring over loaning. Also, between turns 129 and 18 in the next season they don’t loan at all, as they know there will be no or very few matches to play.
Hi guys,
With the introduction of the current player development system, it has become much more difficult to develop young players and this has in some ways improved game play by increasing the level of difficulty. But I must admit I find it increasingly difficult to loan out very decent young players to AI-clubs, even with no wage demands. Has the AI-clubs completely stopped loaning young players or what has happened?
Kind regards
Alexander
I’ll add your suggestion to our list Tomás. It will make even more sense (a little bit) with the upcoming change to player negotiations.
Cheers
Hi there,
I think it would be nice if we could scout search for a player by his nationality.
Bye.
Thank you Gabriel for quick answer.
It used to when the only influence was match participation, but not anymore.
Does critical, bad, neutral or good overall status of my player have an influence on his attitude in the game performance?
Regards,
Luke
Player hotlist dialog enhanced so that the “non-scouted” information is displayed and players can be removed from position specific tabs, not only from the “All” tab.
When creating or changing a match strategy you can now select the competition type it is applicable to. The available options are: any, league, national cup, international or not international. This applies only to club formation strategies, not to national squad formation strategies.
Answers to your questions Tukmans:
1. That was on purpose because I’ve added this info as an urgent fix after realising it needed improvement due to the effect on scout searches that was introduced.
2. For now once the scout report expires the hotlisted player will start negatively impacting the current scout searches. This has been raised by another manager and we have in our list to change the scout search logic so that it tries to first match the search criteria against existing scout reports that are closer to expiring and, if the player passes the criteria, refreshes the report so that it doesn’t expire.
3. There is no way at the moment to request a scout report for a specific player.
1. When you select the player position, the additional info (non-scouted) dissapears.
2. All players on my hotlist have been scouted once. As scout reports exists for limited time only -> how does this affect this new feauture? Will the scouts keep updating the scout-reports from now on?
3. How to scout the non-scouted players?
A couple of thoughts:
As it is now five simultaneus searches can be conducted which all take time to finish. Perhaps depending on the level of scouting in “investments area” you could have a number of assignments available (1, 2, 3 or perhaps 4 slots). A task could be to report back instantly if a player meeting certain visible criteria (only current skills, age, pos etc.) enters the market. Only players listed for transfer, loan or free transfer could be found this way and there should be an option to make this task continuous.
Another task could be for the scout to search the market for not easy accessible data (potential skills, both listed players as well as unlisted players). This type of task should have a progress bar as i does now, but again the option to make it run continuously would be a great addition in my book.
No strong reasons for the “local” transfer markets. I guess one thing we need to rethink if we do make a global transfer market is the scouting usefulness as you pointed out. Any suggestions around that?
As a result of the last announced change it was clear we needed a better way to manage the players hotlist (thanks Leigh for bringing it up). The player hotlist dialog now has an option to remove the player from the hotlist and also displays “(non-scouted)” beside players that do not have a scout report from you and therefore are negatively impacting your scout searches. This can only be done from the “All” tab (not from G, D, M or A) but hopefully is enough to facilitate hotlist management for now.
Again, this was done as a quick fix to complement the previous change, we can definitely build on top of that or improve the hotlist management as a whole in the future.
I have added an option to remove from the hotlist from within the hotlist dialog itself. I’ve also added “(non-scouted)” beside the player name when there is no scout report for him, meaning he is impacting your scout searches. This was done pretty quickly so hopefully there are no bugs and it solves the immediate issue at hand!
Hi guys,
I was wondering if there is any particular reason the transfer market is kept local? – ie. separate market for each country?
I would love to have a “global transfer market” tab, ideally with search options (perhaps position and skills > XX). It would only present data already available to the player, but in a much more accessible way without the need to trawl through every country manually. I understand that this would reduce the value of the current scouting feature, but could potentially increase the dynamics of the transfer market by making it more accessible and hence increase competition for the attractive players.
Kind regards
Alexander
the hotlist interface is in need of changing. Now that I have to delete all my hotlist players, I can not imagine how many hundreds of mouse clicks, and time, this is going to take. Can u put in a tick box, so i can select all, and a delete button, so i can delete the lot, its unable to be used to clean up the host list players.
With your latest email with the subject line: “clean up your hotlist or else”, Its going to take me well over an hour to:
- click the menu button at the top right
- scroll down to the bottom icon
- click it
- scroll down to the players hotlist link
- click it
- click on a player
- wait for it to load
- click on the coaches report
- scroll down to see if i have a scout report on it
- click on the remove player from hotlist link
I dont want RSI. Thanks,
Scout search progress is now negatively impacted by the number of players in your hotlist that were not found by your scouts (or whose scout report has been deleted or expired). In the scouting page you will see a warning message if your searches are being impacted. The message will tell you the number of “non-scouted” players in your hotlist and the current impact they’re having in the searches. This new feature represents the extra work load on your scouts for having to keep track of your hotlisted players.
Nice one Alexander. We have a task to review and team info screen and make it more attractive. I’ll add your suggestion to that task so we can address both at the same time.
