A new dimension is not in our plans yet, but a reset of the existing ones is likely to happen at some point. But certainly not before deep economic changes that would justify that.

Cheers.

Yeah, i’m glad i’m back too :)

Holiday time, perfect for trying out all the new features you guys implemented… Although there still are some things lacking as a more perfect game engine and a better economy! :)

Are you projecting to launch a new dimension or reset these two ones in the near future?

Cheers

LIVERPOOL STRENGTHENS ITS OFFENSE WITH SWIFT MOVES IN THE MARKET

After a surprising elimination in the FA Cup quarterfinals from the hands of Bristol City and the CL Qualifications approaching, the Reds management moved swiftly in the market to improve its offensive threat. Overall 11 players were involved, with 7 players leaving and 4 others joining the legendary football club. In what could be considered a bold move, Liverpool sold it’s offensive trident of Muller, Barbanera, and Saillard, to replace them with Amado, Gandara, and Felicio.
In addition, the Reds added veteran defender Herve Flores to lead their already strong defense. This was what the manager had to say regarding the latest moves:
“While already establishing ourselves in EPL, we needed to strengthen our team in regards to international competitions. Hence we had to move in the market for the best options available. We lost some important elements like Muller (age 25, games 28, goals 33) and goalies prospect Jeanjean (Age 23, 96 keeping) and other first team players, but in return we manages to get: two good veterans in Amado and Flores (both 31 years old) who can still offer 3-4 solid years on the pitch, Saul Gandara (27 yo, 97 shooting), and Bruno Felicio, a young lad who is as good as Barbaner, but with still some room left to grow. Just to give you and idea of our improvement in offense, here are the numbers:

Old offense: Muller (28 games, 33 goals), Barbanera (25 games, 9 goals), Saillard (17 games, 5 goals). Total: 47 goals in 70 games
New offense: Amado (10 games, 16 goals, Gandara (8 games, 10 goals), Felicio (7 games, 3 goals). Total: 29 goals in 25 games.

The improvement is truly vast. I can say that Liverpool has definitely becomes the best team in EPL, and is currently in the CL group stage. Perhaps is not much, but if you take into consideration the fact that two years ago we were still in Division 1, then this team truly becomes a piece of wonder. But we are not resting yet. I believe this team is 2-3 moves from becoming a CL contender, but that is to happen next year rather than this season, where are our objectives are to win the EPL and have a good group stage performance."

CL QUALIFICATIONS: LIVERPOOL VS. HANOVER 96 11-1 AGG.
At the start of the season, when the reds were drawn with Hanover96 for the CL qualification round, the manager considered the qualification almost impossible. After the recent swaps in the market, Liverpool improved enough to have a good chance vs the Germans who currently lead the Bundesliga with best attack and best goal difference. Yet, what happened in the two games could have not been imagined even in the wildest dreams of the most optimistic supporter out there. LFC thoroughly destroyed Hanover 96 with an 11-1 aggregate score, including a 7-1 result in Germany. The final score is a lot unfair to the German side that were only outshot by 10 shots (29-39). That said, the consistency of Amado and Gandara in front of the oppositions goal was truly amazing (7 goals between them)
Let’s hope such a result is a sign of things to come for the legendary REDS and not just an episode. Whatever happens, one cannot doubt the Reds surely know hot to make an entrance

CL GROUP STAGE
LFC have been drawn in Group 2 with Real Sporting de Gijon, Marseille, and Eintracht Frankfurt. It’s a tough group, with the Spanish giants the most likely to win it and the other three teams to fight it amongst them for the second place. The Reds play the first game at home against the Eintracht. Let’s hope they keep their positive trends against German sides.

Glad you’re back, Alexandre! You keep reminding me of interesting features from ManagerSim we could have in RubySoccer. Yes, manager of the month sounds great.

Yes, big club clause would be part of it, but probably more flexible than ManagerSim rule. When signing a contract you would agree a value with the player that, if paid, would force you to sell him. This value would be dependent of the player’s value, age, current club quality, etc.

First in Portuguese, then in English.

[pt-br]

[en]
For the non-portuguese speakers the post is about suggestions to player negotiations. Cristiano is suggesting we should be able to make transfer proposals to non-transfered players. We’ll probably have that in the future. Imortal is suggesting we should have some kind of swap deals where a player could be included in a transfer proposal. We are looking at swap deals very carefully as they could increase cheating-like negotiations. He also mentions loans with the possibility of buying the player for a pre-determined value at the end of the loan. This sounds more likely to be implemented.

Thanks guys!

Definately! Ghana deserved to go through, I think Suarez should of been banned for the two matches instead of just one for a straight red, blatant cheating.

England, France, Italy, how bad can one get.
Maradona just ain’t a coach!
The Dutch playing kick-boxing…who would have thought that.
And Spain, just dragging along…but congratulations to them!!!

Ghana getting thrown out by Uruguay in that manner was the most heartbreaking moment of the tournament!!!

Congratulations! Spain finally made it! They showed they could win the world cup when they beat Germany.

I was hoping Brazil could be there instead of Netherlands, but we deserved to lose that match. 2014 is right around the corner. Hopefully we will have a better coach by then.

Cheers!

Fix: international expectation for some teams show “Reach group phase” when it should really say “Reach quarter-finals”. As expectations are generated at the beginning of the season this problem will be fixed only next season.

If you play on Uruguay or Portugal in FastTicker don’t worry about the missing relegation spots on first division and the extra promotion spot on second division, this is all part of the addition of new clubs next season. Other countries receiving new clubs are Germany, Netherlands, Turkey and Russia. Soon the same setup will be made on MediumTicket.

Cheers!

Season 40 Review

Liverpool FC can be considered the surprise of season 40 in EPL after concluding the season at the second place, above the former Champions of Blackpool. If it wasn’t for another great surprise, Charlton, who won the title with an excellent performance throughout the season, the Reds could have been lifting their first trophy in decades by now. But it takes nothing away of their great achievement which brings them to participate in the most coveted competition in Europe, the Champions League, only a year after they got promoted to top flight.

Season 41 Preview
It took only one season for the mighty reds to establish themselves as one of the top teams in England. Liverpool has a consolidated team all over the pitch, with their goalie being the star of the team. In addition, most starting elements are still young and have space for improvement, which should strengthen the team further. However, the manager might considering to splash some money on the market, also in view of the CL participation where the reds hope to qualify for the group stage, despite a very tough qualification match up with Hannover 96. What the reds could do is get at least one experienced prolific striker to add to their trident, and money allowing it, an experienced mid.
At home, Liverpool could be considered a solid contender for the title and have a good run at the domestic cup. One thing that could work against the young team is that they can’t enjoy the element of surprise anymore, however, on the other hand, the Reds can usufruct from their previous season experience in EPL to improve some of their gameplay.

All in all, this should be a highly competitive season where the fight for the title could go to the wire with the usual suspects Blackpool, Charlton, and now Livepoorl, fighting it amongst them.
