May 24th I wrote about Den Bosch: “The four 19-year olds have 80, 78, 77 and 75 average. The five 18-year olds 77, 74, 73, 72 and 72. And there’s a lot of 17-year olds with 70/71 average.”
Now they have two players worth 200M and one worth 150M…. no wonder they’re on top of the league. Still no manager though!
I still find the idea interesting that having home country players matters. For example, to have a minimum amount of home country players in your squad.
Does it make the game more realistic? More or less. There are teams in real life that (sometimes) play with only foreign players (in the English league for example). However, a lot of leagues do have rules about it. Also one might argue that fans like to see (at least some) players from their own country in their favourite team.
A more important question: does it make the game more interesting and/or more fun? Not sure, but I think it might. It gives an extra dimension to creating a good team and a bonus for developing your own youth players.
There are disadvantages: it can be an extra handicap for teams from weak countries (while for Brazilian of French teams it’s no problem at all). Also one can just add five weak players to the squad who never play just to follow the rules.
As Gabriel points out, there are other options. One that he doesn’t mention having home country players attract more sponsors and/or more fans. Seems plausible from a realistic point of view, and probably also fun-enhancing: it’s a possibility to earn a bonus. In this case I suggest the bonus for teams in the weaker countries is a little more than for Brazil and France.
Do also note that the best national team in the world (according to Fifa ranking) is from a small country…
Well, the advantage you have is that you can play with youngsters and still compete in your league.
Also, Galatasaray has made the final in the champions league before. So being in an weak country doesn’t mean you can’t compete internationally.
Nice work! Or as Berhan K wrote: "
Fantastic stuff, the new countries!!!
I was itching to take on a team in Sweden, but I’ll stick around at EPL, beating Davison is too much fun. Besides I guess someone has to make it harder for Filipe, most team give him easy points anyway. ;)"
A question: how does the Champions League and Europe League work now? I see there’s an extra qualification round?
Actually it doesn’t quite work in Chrome. The avg column is there, but specifying a team is not possible:
FastTicker – monitoring team undefined [disable]
MediumTicker – monitoring team undefined [disable]
They are brothers, but Jonathan went to Holland at a very young age and got the Dutch nationality at age 20 and played for the Dutch u21 team.
Wikipedia says something interesting also: “Changes to FIFA regulations regarding switching nations now mean that De Guzman is again eligible for selection by Canada, as well as the countries of his parents, Jamaica and the Philippines, having yet to make an appearance for the senior Netherlands squad.”
So he can choose between 4 countries!
If you can proof he’s a cheater, do so.
If you can’t, then don’t say he is one.
You mean the Canadian Julian de Guzmán and the Dutchman Jonathan de Guzmán ;)
80M British pounds. This is 91M euro, 130M dollars or 12209M Kenyan shillings.
Anyway, what were you thinking, that soccersim dollars and British pounds are the same?
Check the detailed history. The club has a lot of money now, I suppose he will buy good players later.
Introducing a transfer window would certainly create some problems. It doesn’t solve any problems, as far as I see. Neither does it make the game more fun: on the contrary, I would say.
I favour option 2.
At least the French didn’t give us Celine Dion :(
Sweden would be a good idea yes, since there are a lot of Swedes active on online browser games (or at least in my experience).
It worked in Chrome.
I checked with FF again: didn’t work there.
Back to Chrome: suddenly there it didn’t work either.
Logout, Login with Facebook, Logout, and it worked in Chrome again.
Strange….
Actually it seems to work on Chrome now.
It’s gamewise a useful feature, since it gives players who take time to read the guide an advantage.
Yes, it does remember that.
When logging in with Facebook it does work. The problem is with my normal account.
6.0
Or not quite, as the next login it was gone again.
To see it, I need to logout, connect with facebook, enter dimension, exit, logout, login with my normal account, enter dimension.
I would of course prefer it not to have to do this again and again.
Any idea how I can solve this Ulisses?
Finally got it fixed by logging out (at the frontpage) and login again.
RTFG.
I understand that Gabriel. Point is: the game is less fun without the column average skills, at least for me. The game is really better with it than without it.
But it would be nice if it would be standard (especially since the script doesn’t work for me anymore).
In the last tick stamina did go up, didn’t it?
It is possible to add the column ‘avg’ (average) to the players list? Just like you (should) see when http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/54608 is installed?
Suddenly it’s not working for me anymore :( Don’t know why, I even reinstalled Firefox and tried it with Chrome (doesn’t work there for me either, though Chrome supports greasemonkey scripts).
