this is quite funny, but I am expecting some tweets about this!! :)

Seriously though, you guys need a more healthy look into finances of the clubs so you won’t have to chase the money this hard.

Interesting ideas of player development, but I have coached kids in real life, so let me write down my 2 cents. :)

I think it’s good to have potential values, that is if everything goes right, the player should become this and that, BUT ONLY if everything goes right. In order for a youth to fully grow as player he should be allowed to take more and more first team space. If that happens and the player is suited for the way of playing (strategy and tactics) and in form, then he can develop to his potential. And this shouldn’t be foolproof either. Just my thought on the subject.

This must be a bug, as the board was expecting from me to be in middle of table, in Championship, England, now I qualified to Premier League, and they still want middle of table.

This is not possible for first season, seeing what kind of talent the Premier League has. This would maybe mean me being fired for not meeting their expectations. The board should ask for avoiding relegation in my opinion.

Anyone else agree / disagree?

Depends if you want to do it realistic or not. I have coached kids aged 8-12 and you could already there see who had some potential. Nothing guaranteed but again it shows, so hiding player stats is not something I think is a good feature. The potential for every player is of course hidden but again, you should be able to get a feeling/view about a player and build yourself an opinion about his future potential.

hehehe, come on. Be serious. You win some you lose some, next season you can try to perfect your tactics. Maybe you should go defensive in away games and attack on home games, or whatever you are not doing already. Surprise victories are good for the game.

Remember Soccersim was there first, got pro and we enjoyed lots of years of fun. RubySoccer has not reached it’s potential yet, and needs work to be able to get there. If you want a serious view of course.

Guys, there are some things that need to be solved before going pro and paid version.

1. Copyright issues, it’s just matter of weeks until you get an angry mail from THE (!) FA (read the English FA) claiming you are using copyrighted and trademarked names without any permission, and you have 24 hours to drop it. Then you have received payments and you have to close the shop before really opening it.

2. A Business plan, this involves Danilo and Gabriel mainly and it has to be their choice where they want to take the game. I think it’s too early to go Pro at current time. The number of managers are too low.

3. Other clients platforms may create more hype and bring in more people trying and starting playing the game.

4. Alternative payments /micro payments through a partner, unlocking certain info for paying customers.

5. Time is of importance, remember what killed ManagerSim, it needs time, dedication and money, and the the money part is pretty important. If next step(s) take too long, the risk of seeing a replay of ManagerSim fate could well happen here.

I’ll try to support Danilo and Gabriel as much as I can, they’ve done a great job, because if you haven’t programmed a game yourself, you have NO IDEA how much hard work that is, believe me.

I also think setting up a group of people interested in the future of the game to design some plans would be a good natural step forward.
