Maybe you could move away from having to “make” money?
So, for example at the beginning of the year, you get X amount from the board as regards to player purchases, depending on the position you were in last year, what your current salaries are, your reputation as a manager, and what money came in through selling players and crowd gates. Maybe the manager can “Request” extra funding which is either denied or accepted?
This could also put stadium construction into the Boards hands – we did well last year so we’ll increase the stadium r we didn’t do well last year so we won’t increase the stadium size.
It could also allow some sort of “takeover” and cash injection type options? Team does well, they are taken over and given a cash injection etc etc.
There could also be the reverse of this – the boards makes bad decisions and are forced to release or transfer list players?

nsg1974, i think your post summarizes well the problem here. in my opinion the player stats are good and realistic enough the way they are.
as for the match, we have to wait and see what happens with the new youths. also, there is a LOT to do on the engine. like add strategies, for example. i am reluctant to change anything before we add the missing stuff, because the effort to add those will, alone, force us to improve and add a lot on the existing code.
i am optimistic about the way things are going, lets see what this next month brings to us.

I’m not sure those stats tell the full story. I’m guessing your percentages include all youth players and the free transfer players that no one wants? My feeling is that the problem is with the distribution. Although on the face of it the percentages above seem reasonable, all those decent players will be in the top division and there is then quite a drop in quality down to Div 2. It’s more the relative difference between Div 1 and Div 2 teams, and the div 2 teams don’t get enough income to radically improve their teams. The new youths will help but this is a slow process.
It would be interesting to do your calculation above firstly just for Div 1 team senior players, and then secondly just for Div 2 senior players to find the average spread (including 60s, 70s and 80s too). Exclude teams that got promoted/relegated as that will skew the results.
Then again, maybe we’re over analysing it! Maybe its not the difference in quality that’s the problem (as there should be a difference between the leagues) but maybe its how this translates to the match results. Maybe the better quality players are having too much effect on the number of goals that are scored. This was after all the original reason for the thread!
Danilo, due to my experimentations, I’m now left with only 5 youth players in my squad. Would it be possible to spawn a 6th one please? I need all the players I can get for friendlies.

I am very optimistic about the future of the game as you guys have been doing a great job and players have been quite active trying to help.
i only hope that we have enough people, like you, willing to really improve the game by suggesting and reporting the problems (not using them for their own benefit).
that is the only way for us to come up with a great game. and maybe get Toni as addicted as he was :).
I am also an ex-Managersim player. I was unlucky to play it only for around one year, but was extremely addicted to it.
Many times had my alarm clock ringing in the middle of the night if I had to beat someones bid for a good player. :D

I am not sure but I think I may have signed one player marked as a youth. Didn´t think more about it at the time because I was logged in at school and had to run to class…

thanks for reporting. this is a known encoding problem. we are not prioritizing this for 2 reasons:
1) our game, in general, is working very good on that perspective.
2) this has no big impact for now.
but we will sure look into this. cheers!
well, right now i think it is a matter of common sense. i would say that you can get one team on beta2, but if you see that we are running low on teams, please resign one of your teams so more people can play.

yes, this is one of our top priorities. recently i had to raise the priority of anti-cheat code. maybe will have to do the same with a few things, like this one.
very soon we will go back to the match engine to put more improvements on it. I think next week. Lets see what happens from there.
Paulo and Alexandre, in fact we already solved that attendeance problem. Things like div, players quality, your position on the championship, etc. Those are the ones that affect attendeance. We ran a few stats and we became very satisfied with the results, so I think we have a good start there. In future we may add more things, but for beta this seems to be enough.
Considering this and other posts, for now I am almost deciding to go for my initial suggestion.
i’ve gone through the list quickly and have already found a couple of players in the same boat as pats player. i won’t name names but this should definitely be patched up cause people will be pumpingout youth player after youth player every tick.

on the same topic, I can GUARANTEE you guys that i’ve seen players on the open market still listed as “youth” players on the free transfer list.
when you select the player it still says “youth” but the option to “offer contract” is only available on the players line on the TL.
so obviously, some managers don’t care to report cheats and would rather take advantage.
