Regarding the manager ranking I believe the quality of the opponents should count. For example, beating Hertha in german league should be worth more points than beating Erzgebirge Aue. This way a manager in a strong league would be able to gather more points in the ranking with good results than an average manager in a weak league, making it harder for them to takeover your team. What do you say?
I’m really sorry to know that Parag and Reimer have left. I hope they change their mind :(
About being fired I believe it’s healthy for the game, you shouldn’t get a team and be its manager forever. It would be acceptable in a manager game where you create your own team, give a name to it, etc. Here we have real life clubs and everyone wants to manage the most famous clubs. It’s fun to start it all over again.
If you say the way of earning points is kinda weird that’s fine, I agree with that, we still need to find a good way to give points to the managers. Things were worse when this “apply for clubs with managers” did not exist, as a manager could be fired for bad performance even when nobody else was interested in managing his team.
We have some positive examples of managers who got fired from good teams (Michelet from Cruzeiro and Andre Maia from Botafogo) and they simply picked another team to start again. Andre Maia was even able to get his Botafogo back after some seasons.
I understand your concerns, Alban, we’ve lost good managers fired for bad performance (Carlos Costa from Leixões was the first one if I’m not mistaken). This is a very controversial subject in my opinion and we’re willing to make changes if necessary so that the majority can be happy (if there is a clear majority).
Cheers!
My only prediction for this season is that I’ll be fired for bad performance.
Match engine enhancement: improved players tackling decision. At most 2 closest players will try to tackle an opponent at the same time. We expect this to reduce the “swarm” behavior.
Increased the number of different formations allowed from 5 to 7.
For sale
Nicola Collauto
Age: 27
Position: A
Side: C
Tackle: 80
Passing: 85
Shooting: 85
Speed: 98
Dribble: 95
Control: 86
Header: 91
Don’t be fooled by his 85 shooting, with high tackle for an attacker and incredible speed and dribbling skills Nicola is a threat to many defenses. His header skill is also a plus, specially now with better wingers usage.
Price is negotiable.
I believe it’s not implemented yet :)
Today’s most important improvement: goalkeeper injury.
That’s right. There is a 1 in 400 chance of a goalkeeper injury during a match. If you have only one quality keeper it’s better start thinking about buying another one.
p.s.: the current injury names used are the same for keepers and regular players, so they may not make sense. Please ignore it, after all, the important information is how many turns the player will be injured ;)
Country points obtained on CL or Libertadores are doubled. In other words, a victory or draw on these competitions are now worth twice as much country points as the same result on UEFA Cup or Copa Sudamericana.
When a loan was renewed the smallest asked period was used as the new loan period. For example, if I asked 36-144 turns the renewal period would be 36 turns, even if the other manager had originally loaned him for 108 turns. This will remain the same for existing loans, but for new ones the exact period will be used for renewal.
We have to find a balance between first team opportunity and money. I wish I had came up with a good formula already…I’ll raise this enhancement’s priority so we can work on it sooner.
Yes, there are a couple other investigations going on :)
Thanks to Nicky Broos, one of our users, the coutry list page got a new look. Check it out!
Filipe got it right, but the reason is cheating investigation ;)
There was a slight change to the average player skill calculation that could explain that: players loaned out may be considered in the formula if they’re good enough. On previous season we considered a certain number of your best players to determine the average player skill of the team without looking at loaned out players.
Either this or you simply have CL opponents that have become stronger than you this season. ;)
Sounds simple, an option limit the player’s movement, to tell him that he shouldn’t move forward if he is a defender or move back if he is an attacker :)
Right beside the match result there is a play icon that links directly to the match replay ;)
Exactly.
It’s the field zone where you want to play more frequently. If you want to use wingers you should give priority to passes along the sides of the field. If you have strong central players, maybe you want to prioritize passing to the center. Now if you don’t care or if you want to give the same importance to sides and central players a mixed strategy will fit for you.
Another tip: click on the gear icon (second from left to right in the second row), it’s for manager settings, there is an option there called “Show recent results…”, if you disable this option the score will be displayed as ? x ? in your home page.
Adding more old matches is pretty simple, I’ll do that right away.
The rule is the same for all ages, 3 points lost by match, 2 points recovered when resting. We know it’s too simple, we’re open to suggestions, as always :)
You can still see the swarm behaviour in some situations where midfielders keep tackling each other. I hope that even before that is fixed we can see an improvement on wing play.
New basic strategy: passing priority.
With this strategy you can influence the field zone where your players will focus their passes. It can be set to center, mixed or along sides. The last one means most of the times your players will pass the ball to a teammate next to the field sides while the first option is the opposite.
IMPORTANT: you can already set the strategy in your formations, but it won’t be applied until FastTicker season end in 2 days. Until then everybody will be using the “mixed” option no matter which one is really selected.
I believe the reason Brazil dominates South America is not related to the number of countries, but to the weakness of the other countries. The problem is we only had Brazil and Argentina when the dimension started and the Brazilian league was always crowded while most teams from Argentina were controlled by the CPU. This made Brazilian teams pretty strong compared to their opponents. Argentina seems to be getting better, at least on Libertadores. Teams like Almagro, Boca Juniors and Almte. Brown had some interesting results. More managers on South American countries would definitely make other countries more competitive.
Now about real life, Brazil is not a dominating league cause all good players want to play abroad as Brazilian teams can’t afford high wages. We decided to give all countries a chance in the game, no matter what is the real life situation :D
Our system is similar to real life, not exactly the same I guess…in my opinion CL should be worth more points, same for Libertadores…I’ll add an enhancement to our list and double the points from those competitions ;)
Definitely! We already have this enhancement planned, torte205 ;)
No offense taken. We tried to make it more flexible than MS, Alban. Maybe it’s lacking some usability, specially on strategies, but we can certainly improve it. Switching back to fixed formations would be a pity, but we can discuss alternatives if more people feel like it’s weak as you say ;)
Another first class keeper: Adrian Bell
Position: G
Keeping: 91
Speed: 93
Dribble: 96
Control: 100
Header: 80
After writing the formation name just hit enter, it will save and display the new empty formation on the screen. It’s not very intuitive, right? :P
@Dhimitri
What do you mean by “can’t actually save formations”?
@Alban
That’s how it’s supposed to be, changing players position in the field is automatically saved, the update button is only for saving the basic tactics and set pieces players in the left side.
