Place your resume; new manager needed at Albacete. Decided to resign and apply for my favourite team in England. Go for it – competetive Spanish club in top league, top players and financially sound. Good luck.

Ahhh,

Welcome, Mauras!
Me and Danilo used to play Soccersim when it was already called ManagerSim, and we loved it. We started to the develop this game before the end of MS but it was only when that happened that we took it seriously. Even though there are several similarities we wrote this from scratch. Peter Strand only gave us his his European data like player names and surnames lists, leagues and cup names.
Regarding your comment about the world size, we have few countries just because we’re still growing and don’t have enough users to populate a bigger world. It is better when most teams are controlled by human managers. More countries should be added soon anyway, it will certainly improve the game experience.
The name RubySoccer is inspired in the language we use to develop the game, which is called Ruby. Now if you ask me why soccer instead of football…well, I guess we talk too much with people from U.S. :P

Yes, the greater the distance of the receiving player, higher the chance to miss the pass.

Hi,

sorry if I’m asking something rather obvious or already discussed but I’m a new arrival here.
This game seems based on the later Soccersim, which I played for several years, from Peter Strand’s early betas to the RG fiasco and later back to the betas, untill Strand ended it.

It surely seems similar, although it looks more simplistic (which isn’t negative anyway).
A couple of things seem unfortunately poorer, but you are probably working on it:

1. the world size – having so few cuntries really limits the ability of smaller clubs to locate and developt younger talent. SSim used to have a much wider world, good for smaller clubs. Anyway the arrival of brasil and argentina is a good upgrade.

2. youth coaching method – developting kids seems now a little more passive, although the experience points is a good add on that allow us to keep track on our players progression. Nevertheless, the late method of coaching younger players individually used to pay of.

Keep up the good work, nice to come across this game.

PS – mere curiousity: why Ruby (soccer)?

Congratulations to all the champions, especially to Rafael from Santo Andre, he deserved that success !!!

p.s. I guess the referee was bribed by Hertha in the “Deutsch” semi-final of the CL =)

Is passing accuracy based on passing style (short, medium or long)?

There was an error in the passing interception logic some time ago. After that was fixed the passing accuracy increased a lot. I agree the number is too high, the players should miss passes more frequently.

I’ve seen alot of high numbers latelly in the match results. How can teams with not even 100 or 90+ passers and low controllers have 96% accurate passes? Kinda doesn’t make sence to me.

Lots of young and promising players available for loan and transfer at Benfica, take a look and make an offer.
Prices are negotiable, if reasonable…

Excellent player, a player like that can play in almost any position, even losing 3 points each skill…

Now for the world dream team you guys forgot two players, the midfielder Fabrício Alves and the keeper Ricardo Mário João from Benfica :D

awesome player. He doesn’t need shooting afterall, he might as well dribble his way into the goal :D
Then of course, there’s always the possibility that a Matterazi type of defender will knock him down in old karate fashion ;)

BTW does someone know who has been the best player in terms of total pts of his seven attributes???? I have seen players in the 640+ which is a pretty awesome sum out of 700 possible.

uhm, don’t get any strange idea’s Gabriel. I would be really sad if you would get some penalty for changing the lineup. I think this tactical aspect of the game is very nice and it keeps me intrested in playing it. Don’t take that away from me….

It’s not exaclty a bug, but a bad penalty kick probability calculation algorithm :)
Anyway, we have plans to improve that, it’s too unrealistic.

Well, we could do something like that…yes, the same calculation are used for the national cups, that means whenenver a weaker team beats a stronger team in an elimination round, or unexpectedly qualify in its group in a cup we’d need to recalculate the expectations.

It’s Monaco against Juventus for that 4th CL spot. Allthough Monaco has the Cl advantage of double points.
Bring it to Italy Vaughn. There is absolutely no pressure on your shoulders :)
